i would to love to have seen him do the entire fragile as well he should have done every album in each show do all PHM all Broken and all downward spiral and so on but since broken so small maybe he could have done all broken then all downward spiral but i would love to see PHM in it's entrity live :P

As I said on the March of the Pigs video from this show, I'm a diehard NIN fan that has really enjoyed watching this entire album be played live. Having said that, I had to hit the dislike button for this video. This is hands down the worst performance of this song that I have ever seen. I am generally okay with "The Only Time" version of this song, but...

...when you consider how special that night was and the fact that they decided to play March of the Pigs in a way that's more like the album, I just don't see why they played "The Only Time" version of Closer as opposed to something more like the album version (like how they used to play it). It tainted an otherwise special night.

If you watch him from 2:43 to 2:46 it looks like he is grabbing a spare from his guitar. And after that you can see him using a pick. So I'm guessing he did lose his pick yes.

Correct. He has several stuck onto his amp speakers, you can see him going towards them to grab another. I've never understood why none of the band have any pick holders attatched to their mic stands like a lot of bands do, maybe its just me that drops picks alot...

thank god for trent reznor, he may be the only artist that encourages fans to film his concerts make a dvd compilation and give it to the public with no costs or association, hopefully others artists will follow

A lot of NIN fans also use field records - which allows for AMAZING sound recording. Chances are thats where the audio came from.

I'm pretty sure Billy specified "ultra-limited edition," maybe even in all caps. The Slip is 250,000 copies, which can still be found a year later at ten bucks each. Also, there's not eleven different versions of it. Trent has never seemed like one for the money to me...

Fair enough. Though Trent did have to slap a signature and piece of unique artwork in each one. People have paid less than that for music, and more than that for signatures and art before. I just see this whole eleven EP thing from the Pumpkins as solely money for rare music and completionists sake. As opposed to something special like an autograph and art.

Oh there is a difference, but its not black and white. I don't see it as a cash grab because there are collectors out there who do want these things. He's still releasing it all as a box set when all 44 are released, but different packaging and what have you. But the simple fact that he's releasing Limited edition Ep's does not outshine the fact that he's releasing the actual music for free.

Oh well, it was an exact replica of the Downward Spiral...till now. Closer should have been played exactly how it was done on the album. Not with guitar riff, and not mixed with "The Only Time". Not if you're gonna call it a LIVE version of the Downward Spiral because its not.

the live version of "Closer" the last few tours, has featured a pretty sweet breakdown using the main keyboard riff of "The Only Time".

It starts up right before the last bit of lyrics; you see TR begin to jam it out on that back keyboard there, but it clearly wasn't preset to the sound he wanted, which is why he bailed on it.

too bad; when it all flows smoothly, it's a fucking badass version of the song. not that this still wasn't awesome.
