I love it all, the song, the video, the message, the soul, the piano, it has everything. I like this song because it's gospel music that shys away from the traditional, "praise Jesus' name" thing. I'm sure God is very tired of that shit, and likes to hear people talking about the realities of bad things as well. I dig it, Nina Simone is a legend. God bless her, man.

Yeah! That's how i feel. I'm from a Christian school and they make us sing all this shitty songs and I'm like "Man, this is crap", and they tell me off! It's not because it's religious music, but because it's really crap. I have no problem listening or singing to religious music, as long as its good. Just like any other song. I really like, and prefer, Gospel though.

@AOG93 Some of its ok. Nina is more to my liking. The reason they make you sing those songs is because a lot of them are simple, and most people cant sing. They just want to get everyone involved. Lets face it, if they had you try to sing this Nina Simone song, it would be pretty sad. ;-)

@chuckdee121 I'm actually a singer myself ;), but it's true, it's cos they're simple. But it just gets to you, ya'know. All the same songs, all the time... it's tiring... cos i don't like them. If I liked them, it wouldn't be a problem (trust me, if a love a piece_opera comes to mind_I love singing it through thousands of times!!). But, once in a while, it would be nice to spice things up a little. Don't care if most people can't really sing.. at least it's the attitude that counts...

Just listen to your teachers, they will help you understand song construction, and intonation, then, forget every damn thing they said, and you'll be fine. Have fun with your singing, and keep at it.
