peaceful demonstration? all the rallies i seem so far tibetan/lama supporters are violence. remember girl in wheelchair with torch? they call themselves peaceful because the lama say it is. but they don't see how they got brainwash by the lama and are being use as puppet to regain his throne. Doesn't Buddhism teach you to give up all manly matters? why you holding on to Tibet and want it back so bad? ha got you there you lair.

As I've heard it, Dorje Shugden is a very sectarian practice that has a history of inciting its followers against other Buddhist sects. Dealing with NKT followers, that doesn't really surprise me... as they were very dismissive of my tradition.
Strange how something responsible for sectarian discrimination in the past like Shugden, is now dealing with a different form of discrimination.

The Dalai Lama says the ban is required to prevent Buddhism from degenerating into spirit worship, and this seems to be true.
Dorje Shugden was just an ancient monk, not a deity, and is not a "spirit" now.
However, the repercussions against practitioners are political, not religious, and quite beneath the level of compassion expected of a Buddhist.
