I think you do choose which regiment you would like to apply for. I know one guy changed his mind while at Harrogate from what he thought originally. I believe for the Paras you have to achieve certain level eg fitness and that it is tougher than for other regiments. Lots of training ahead then! Hope it goes well. Lx
Just curious, do you get to choose your regimental berets? Because I'm looking into going here soon and I hope to get in the Paras eventually. Thanks!
@SydSqueek Thanx for the comment! I'm glad you like the video. It was an amazing day - and soooo cold! You can see the 5ft snow banks! Congratulations on passing selection! It takes ages doesn't it!
You are right, I am very proud of my son. What a lot he has achieved in his year and a half with the army. He just wnet to Germany on Sunday.
Harrogate can be pretty tough I think but also rewarding and I doubt you'd be bored! They keep you pretty busy!
That's brilliant! I can understand you would have mixed feelings about it. It is a big step. I can't say I was too keen that my son chose to go but he has learned a lot in the short time he's been there and seems to still be enjoying it.
He will be at Harrogate until Dec so you might see him!
Well done you! My son had hoped t get into the Sept intake but it took a bit longer - January. He's really enjoying it and this month they had the family day which was fantastic!
