i think its great that the baby was born in the morning, then you have the rest of the day full of sunshine to relax, it just makes it more relaxing... I think
@dawngalloper12 yes, the shaking is normal--one explanation I heard is just that it's your body sort of re-setting the internal temperature after a huge period of energy exertion, like after a runner runs a marathon, and also I believe there's a big hormonal component to it, too. :)
@cjromichaud ohhh k .. It looked sorta scary, I thought it was just something that happens to you when you were excited .. Like i stutter when I'm excited lol .. Im having a VBAC in about 10 weeks so I've been watching tonnes of birth videos .. lol :)
i came across this video by accident and at first glance i was going to say that this looks incredibly gross and disgusting (no offense) .. but by the end of the video i actually had an epiphany.. ive never seen this before and I think i will have more respect towards woman now...wow
im pregnant for the first time and i wanted to know how come they waited so long to cut the cord? and did it hurt when they toke that thing out (8;30) thanks
If you wait to clamp (and then cut) the cord until it has stopped pulsing, you ensure that the baby gets all the blood (and additional oxygen) it can from the placenta--many homebirth midwives practice delayed cord-clamping as a matter of course. In hospitals, you may have to advocate harder to wait. And no, it didn't hurt when the placenta came--it's just another push on your part, like with the baby but far less pressure. My midwife didn't use cord traction ("pulling"). Good luck!
It was definitely a pain-free birth, and I was definitely on a totally natural hormonal high, so call it what you want, but yes, it was an amazing experience for me.
The best birthing video on youtube...Thanks for sharing and congrats!!!
