  • The 2rd battle of Hakata bay was the Samurai's Thermopylae - its an example of their best fighting qualities.

  • wow they skipped a lot

  • So eine dumme scheiße habe ich schon lange nicht mehr gesehen!

  • They did this so wrong!!

  • This video is not very accurate....

  • @kiratz123 the point is about the sword if they confuse dates ofbattle and history its irrelevant so long as the parts about the katana are exact

  • This is a good reason to respect the Japanese sword..

  • WTF!? Mongols are horse archers not spearman :S

  • @PompeusMagnus They used tight spear formations when they invaded Japan for the first time, though.

  • The History channel documentary on the Katana is much better.

  • someone plz explain what the "beat" in this clip means? thanks.

  • @teleostomi a "beat" is a fencing move where you stirke your opponents sword with yours to move it "off line" with your main attack. You basically beat there sword out of the way with one sharp blow and then initial your attack.

  • 1:40 WHAT!! august moon? ITS RISING SUN!!!!

  • pfft arrows are cheap

  • God damn mongorians.

  • @SabaiDeeKhonLao LOL...you're such an asshole...a funny asshole :)

  • lmao the mongols made an empire as big as the romans ? yeah right man they made it bigger then any other empires was in history

  • The British empire wins that dubious honour by about 10 million square kilometres.

  • yeah but the romans ruled of more people than the mongols

  • yeah but the Romans usually capture soldiers from the land that they conquer and let them become a citizen of their country if they wanted to unlike the mongols where they usually just chop of their heads

  • @ChaoticGodz so does the japanese!!

  • @ChaoticGodz err.. no? where did you hear that?

  • they said mongols made the bigest empire since the romans.. not as big

  • @ChaoticGodz

    BIGGER

  • what they dont say is that the Mongols ships were taken in a tempest that's why they disapeared, and the Japanese called it the " divine ( Kami) wind ( Kaze)" wich is were the Kamikaze name in WWII came from

  • As a karate practitioner, I find this very interesting. I knew about the Mongol attempt to take over China, but not Japan.

  • its interesting to hear the diffrences between discovery chanl and ntl geographic like ntl said the sword turn the color of the rising sun but disc says colo of august moon

  • great

  • "Coup de grass"? lol...This narrator is too much man..."Samyerai"

  • Haha, it's Boromir from LOTR. I think his name is Sean Bean?

  • yeah, mr. bean, that's him

  • @thetravelinghermit LOL. That's the famous english actor Sean Bean narrating. Not his best talent but not to bad.

  • @thetravelinghermit The narrator is Sean Bean.

  • I have no idea why this program is using that beach. It should be immediately clear to anyone who has ever been to Hakata bay(Fukuoka) why they chose that beach, its flat and easy to maneuver.
