@teleostomi a "beat" is a fencing move where you stirke your opponents sword with yours to move it "off line" with your main attack. You basically beat there sword out of the way with one sharp blow and then initial your attack.
yeah but the Romans usually capture soldiers from the land that they conquer and let them become a citizen of their country if they wanted to unlike the mongols where they usually just chop of their heads
what they dont say is that the Mongols ships were taken in a tempest that's why they disapeared, and the Japanese called it the " divine ( Kami) wind ( Kaze)" wich is were the Kamikaze name in WWII came from
its interesting to hear the diffrences between discovery chanl and ntl geographic like ntl said the sword turn the color of the rising sun but disc says colo of august moon
I have no idea why this program is using that beach. It should be immediately clear to anyone who has ever been to Hakata bay(Fukuoka) why they chose that beach, its flat and easy to maneuver.
The 2rd battle of Hakata bay was the Samurai's Thermopylae - its an example of their best fighting qualities.

@kiratz123 the point is about the sword if they confuse dates ofbattle and history its irrelevant so long as the parts about the katana are exact

PompeusMagnus 1 year ago
@PompeusMagnus They used tight spear formations when they invaded Japan for the first time, though.

As a karate practitioner, I find this very interesting. I knew about the Mongol attempt to take over China, but not Japan.
