I still have my casette tape from the original broadcast in 1976. Hard to believe that this tune was blocked from release in the US, but came out in Japan. What is the problem? The harmonies at the end are heaven sent from two singers cut off way too soon.
This is one of my favorite music videos. IMO John Denver and Karen Carpenter are the two best singers ever. They sing so beautifly. THis is the best duet ever. Putting John and Karen together is nothing short of genius.
What a fantstic mix.. a Scottish folk song and the Beach Boys... Only the magic of Karen and John Denver could sell this... and they do.. both gone too soon but what wonderful voices, here for us to enjoy forever... thanks for posting this @myloneboat.. :0)x
Maybe I don't listen to music enough nowadays but I have this feeling that gone are the days when women's voices sounded lower than men's... (the one example I can never forget is Travolta and Newton-John in the last note of Summer Nights)
Not everyone will like this buy this was recorded in the late 1970's or very early 80's and was during a happier time in John's life when he was on top of the world. Don't forget that he was the artist of the decade and hosted the Grammy's like 3 times. He was a guest on many TV shows during his heyday. Thanks for Posting.
Hey to all people who are not fans of John Denver or Karen Carpenter,we the fans of these two talented singers would like you to not comment if you don't like them. Take your drama elsewhere! Thank you to the person who posted this great video of music's two greatest singers! Have a nice day.
Karen and John -- Not only among the greatest singers of the 20th Century, but two wonderful and incredibly decent people. Why do such excellent people die befoe the creeps do?
I loved them both so much, growing up with them...took me through those rough growing up years...beautiful angels singing in Heaven, now...but wish we still had them here on earth. He started my love for nature, with his wonderful voice...and she was my singing/drumming female idle...what voices! Thanks for the memories and putting this on here!

Oh lord they're lip syncing. They made Comin Thro' the Rye slow.... I'm gonna cry. It's so... ugh. Lousy phonies. And I actually LIKE Karen.

Two beautiful voices - and a very clever compilation - and neither using either of their own hits.
Top notch !!

...I love Olivia, but Karen should have dueted on John's 'Fly Away' single. It would have made a great song excellent.

Two of the best voices of all American popular music: and how beautifully their voices blend! I wish they had sung more together.
Thank you for posting.

These are classic songs by him. If you don't know them then youv'e closed off some of the best music ever made.

Two reasons I can think of:
1. The creeps are given sufficient time to repent;
2. It's a test of faith for God's people.
Blessings from Singapore!
