that was a bad crash, but glad you're ok, I used to own mk1 and year a go I crashed in to a concrete wall at 140km/h head on, and barely survive but front of the car was under it, those mk1 and mk2 are perfect little cars and very beautiful, only thing that is wrong with them is safety, that's huge problem!!, I just hope thet one day in Wolfsburg they'll make a new Golf that will look like an mk1 but new, that is better, faster and safe!!

I had a MK3 Golf GTI

It was the biggest pile of pap I have ever owned.

I was pleased to see the back of it.

First AND last VW I will ever own.

I have gone back to Toyota, They might be bland to look at but they are reliable as fuck

the mk3 golf gti is sluggish compared to a mk2 golf gti (16v or 8v for that matter). if you had done a bit of research you would've chose the mk3 *vr6*.

FYI I looked at the VR6 but a mere 174bhp OUT OF A 2.8 LITRE engine, That is pants for 2.8 Litre engine. I have now got a 3.0 Toyota Supra it will MURDER a MK3 Golf vr6.

When you buy a Toyota you are getting reliable, Plus all the "toys" are fitted as standard. A standard mk3 Golf GTI does not even have a low-fuel warning light fitted as standard FFS. A basic Ford KA even has a one of them!!! VW Golf mk3 GTI was the Biggest pile of pap I have ever owned. VW are very overated cars!!!
