  • if you call them rich green fields you've obviously never seen irish fields!!

  • Yes, sorry it was not quite as green as usual - I think we were in the middle of dry spell of weather.

  • Ah The McHale Fusion is the way to go, can wrap a bale in the blink of an eye and built like a sherman Tank..Good Old Irish Engineering, The factory is not too far from me, Many a long Night I spent wrapping Bales with a 991b one of the earliest models they made, I think when the contractor sold it, over 150,000 bales had gone through it.

  • Good to see how a McHale Wrapper operates.

I have spent a season using a Taarup T8 twin satelite wrapper. Appears to be a fair bit quicker than the McHale?

  • Thats coz its a twin satelite, two rolls at the same speed as the mchales single. They have there advantages and disadvantages.

  • so what are the disadvantages?

  • I used to work for Hare Contracting outside Matamata, great fun. Based on the Wahora Road, but that was over 10 years ago now...

  • Do u know Andy Basset who used to work for Hare contracting? He worked wif me last year at Walling Contrtacting at Eureaka outside Morrinsville.

  • the name rings a bell, the ones I remember well were a pair of Kiwi fellas Nigel and Chris who used to drive the chopper.

  • Tink i met one of them. Andy is a big tall skiny lad. Real nice chap. He use to drive the 6910 deere and plough at hares. Don't tink Hare contracting is in exsistance any more?

  • Interesting video. Pity about the plastic. Some council s in NZ are working out alternatives now aren't they?

  • I love learning more about farming. Dad says this stuff is good to eat, and has fond memories from his youth.

  • An interesting process. Certainly a big change from the buck raking days of the 50s.
