I think it's a masterpiece, I am glad in a way that it didn't continue in some random direction, it's so complete in and of itself, it's truly out of this world, just completely a not-of-this-world kind of artwork. The representation of each character is just unbelievable how their unique positions and relations play out in the series, it's so deep I can't even understand a good part of it all. I think the whole series can change your life if you let it.

These characters were designed and set up to be almost real to the viewer, when they died, it felt like they really did die.

it kinda reminds me of Clannad, I know they are completely diff. kind of anime, but they both dwell with many psychological stuff that deals about human problems and choices we need to take. Watching both of them can and will change our outlook in life.

It was a very surreal, trippy movie, and the choice of music (in the moments when it actually played in the film) just made it freakier. I mean this all, of course, in a good way.
The writers tried to kill off Asuka twice, and yet she was still alive at the end with Shinji. Instead of them making remakes of episodes as movies, they should pick up where they left off at in the end of eva.
Yea I was Glad to find another as well....and really let down when I found out that Reprise of Evangelion turned out to be a fake..:( didn't you? I have to depend of Fan-fiction in order to find some form of proper closure.
Reprise of Evangelion? Sounds familiar. Though I see your point when it comes to fanfics being the only way to bring peaceful closure to such a masterpiece. I don't mean to sound like a perv, but theres a doujinshi thats called, Retake of EVA and theres some guy posting really cool videos on here with clips. Check it out. It'll be worth your time.
Ive already got that doujin, its practically the only doujin that I don't feel disgusted with since it focuses more on the story and less on the other stuff.
I know. In a way, I wanted this to come together like it did in RETAKE. The death/ not death of Asuka in the second book made me breakdown and cry. Thank god, like in all of the cheezy hollywood movies, she comes back unscratched in the end.
Personally, i find it that EVA:Retake is not actually a doujin. As i see it Retake should have been an anime put in after the series, but couldn't due to its extreme scenes(gainax didn't even kill touji as they should). However, if there were no sexual scenes the Retake would lose its edge and expression so it remained in the shadows. A shame.
Okay, good point. No one said they couldn't do both... yeah. That sounds good to me. A referbished story that leads to a happier, less confusing new end.
well they cud start off evangelion from there.. but then it wudnt do much.. dont u get it?? Asuka and Shinji being the left alive.. the tree of life sprouting from EVA01.. Asuka and shinji are the symbolic Adam and EVE. so now that humans won.. the earth is theres.. so evangelion cud only end at this point now.
But so many things are left up to question. What now? What about the new Adam and Eve. Do they continue on and repopulate the earth or do they both fizzle out as well. It probably isn't just me, but I'd love to see a continuation series to follow this up. I'm sure that would be a huge step forward for EVA critics.
There are a lot of unanswered quesions, yes. However, there is no way you can answer all the questions and still maintain a great part of the message. With them choosing to continue living as people their future is uncertain and that by itself means one big question mark.
And in leaving it a big question mark, it ends up driving away the less dedicated fans and makes the show seem a lot more confusing than it really is. It is impossible to answer every question, but it's not impossible to bring closure to some. Thats all I want.
Most say it is about not hiding in fantasy, and finding solace in reality. This isn't a story about what happens, it is a story about the characters. But, more than that it is a story of how, as humans, we need each other, no matter how tough we think we are. And, that no material or superficial thing will give us hope, only in each other can we find peace. In the end, it is that we were born for the sake of each other, and that being seperate, but united is how we will truly live.
Yeah I did. It's because in the rebuild, the whole earth was effected by the 2nd Impact. It makes sense now instead of having parts of the oceans blue and others red. But then what about fountain water. Why isn't it red? Agh! I've got to stop with these random ass questions.

There are a lot of unanswered quesions, yes. However, there is no way you can answer all the questions and still maintain a great part of the message. With them choosing to continue living as people their future is uncertain and that by itself means one big question mark.

And in leaving it a big question mark, it ends up driving away the less dedicated fans and makes the show seem a lot more confusing than it really is. It is impossible to answer every question, but it's not impossible to bring closure to some. Thats all I want.

Most say it is about not hiding in fantasy, and finding solace in reality. This isn't a story about what happens, it is a story about the characters. But, more than that it is a story of how, as humans, we need each other, no matter how tough we think we are. And, that no material or superficial thing will give us hope, only in each other can we find peace. In the end, it is that we were born for the sake of each other, and that being seperate, but united is how we will truly live.

Yeah I did. It's because in the rebuild, the whole earth was effected by the 2nd Impact. It makes sense now instead of having parts of the oceans blue and others red. But then what about fountain water. Why isn't it red? Agh! I've got to stop with these random ass questions.
