if the husband truly loves her he wouldn't even question her about her feelings. She went to him and told him that she was in danger. As a husband he should have known that she was. But the guys is either VERY dumb and can't see it or too stupid to care about her but himself.
Pity that even the Court is making her life miserable and picking at her. Out of all of them, Jeanne was the best and had the best morals. All she wanted was a secure, happy life.
@TheNuharoo I know . . . he's worse than the King. More concerned about his political career than his marriage. At least the King is honest about his motives and feelings.
She's been pushing the king away and working like a fiend to protect herself and he's so selfishly leaving her to fend for herself against his king, and parents, and even his ambition. No one could win against any of that unless they had someone who loved them enough. If he had challenged the king to a duel and at least won, so much misery would have been avoided.
Quite unlikely that on a cold day the ladies should choose to sit in the Great Hall at Stupinigi instead of in one of the many smaller and therefore warmer rooms of the palace.

Oh for crying out loud- the King is gorgeous- and how many of us in her place wouldn't hesitate a moment?

@jmpa169 just because the "king" happens to to hot doesn't mean that you jump his gun when he looks at you.
