Duvall isn't bad, the new album is okay i think, but as many people have stated and what we all can agree on is that Alice In Chains will never be as good as they were with Layne. Layne was the perfect singer and could convey all of the sorrow in the music in a way that everyone can relate too.

I saw them live at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in '09 and yes AIC sounded great, but Duvall just doesn't have a unique voice, then he bounced around yelling like a fucking cheerleader, reminds me of my 8th grade talent show. I've heard better cover performances at my local bar... no shit, I can do a better cover. and yes, I'd give up a nut to perform with them, but being AIC, you'd think they'd have the pick of the litter. They should've tried out Chris Cornell, don't you think.

We all loved Layne Staley, but he's gone now & in a much better place!Layne would be happy that the band reunited! He wrote about the dangers of drugs thru his music & he said he wanted people to hear his message!With Duvall in the band & Alice on the road, Layne's music will be shared with the newer generations & as a fan, I'm excited to see the band & hear his music again! Out of respect for Layne, I am sure the remaining members have asked Layne's family if they could continue on! RIP Layne
