  • See i Knew Tosin Abasi Brother played bass !

  • whoa!

  • nice base guitar what kind is it?

  • Is there any way you can make tabs of this?

  • Im sorry but it just sounds like an exercise

  • 'Lasse'? Dude, are you danish?

  • WOW...When i look at your left hand it looks like its dancing around o.o

  • Great fluid playing and a nice tone. Good timing. Cool.

Doesn't matter whether you are black or white to play bass. Bass is not better than guitar its just different, has a different musical job to do. Real musicians are not in a competition they are in a creative endeavour.

  • incredible.

  • Lasse Gjertsen is so talented :)

  • love it. "Runs out and picks up his bass to practice"

  • fuck brus, you can play the shit out of that bass....

  • bass is simply more awesome than guitar!

  • I always back from time to time to this video ; ] awesome, impresive instrument! Do you have any tab maybe ? : > I wish to figure it out but i'am not good at this ; D I play guitar & still learning ; ] I think any tab's can help me to costomize it on guitar ; ) Keep Play'n! *Sorry4english xd

  • Nice, man. Dig that melody.

  • Nice played! btw Love the clicks! :D

  • Very well done !

  • I'm trying this on the piano..

I can't seem to get the solo right. Could you give me the notes? Are there different chords than in the beginning?

  • @mrsamyboy. It's a bass, dumbass. Obviously, you can't tell the sound difference between the two instruments. Go take some music classes and educate that small mind.

  • @007r0cker007 It's a bass GUITAR. It's a type of guitar so mrsamyboy is technically correct. Maybe you should take your own advice.

  • Haters gonna hate...

  • @mrsamyboy no. actually, it's a bass. two extra strings on top no more makes this instrument a guitar than one extra strong on the bottom of a (7 string) guitar makes it a bass.

When people call me for gigs and i show up with this instrument, they say "oh hey, our bass player is here. great"

  • @LLroomtempJ oke, youre right will take my words back.

  • Comment removed

  • @LLroomtempJ Why you even bother trying to explain?

It´s obvious this person does not even know the difference between arms and legs.

  • @mrsamyboy It IS a bass you fucking moron

  • @mrsamyboy it doesnt even look like a regular guitar...what an idiot..

  • @mrsamyboy remember: always think before you say something stupid. :)

  • @mrsamyboy yes its calld bass-guitar..sixstring bass..hey if you dont have any knowledge of that stuff, just shut up!

btw less metronome, more sound please!

  • agree with deanipops, the clicks are kinda annoying

  • ill be completely honest, when i heard the beginning i thought this was gonna be a horrible video, but youre pretty amazing :p also, i dont find the clicks annoying, but a smooth drum beat would sound better

  • i like it, man its really smooth

  • turn the clicks of man. nice tune though,

  • @deaniepops soooooooooo many people are annoyed by the clicks. They don't bother me at all.

  • @LLroomtempJ Don,t hate.

  • First of all, i love the Lasse Gjertsen song, and i love how you played il! I was hearing the drums in my head haha! You just blew me away with your slap impro, and i mean.. Wow.. It sounds incredible on the bass.. Genius over genious.. BTW anyone wo like Lasse, check out his lates videos! and the 18 people who dislike this, are immature...

  • I don't understand how you can play that monster but keep doing it.

  • Dude, nice bass and rig.

  • What are the strings on a seven string bass in order from thickest to thinest?

  • should invest in a six string electric guitar

  • @MikroBadass extended range bass is the way to go. When i play in bands, i play bass lines and rarely use the upper register. But in my room, the extended range opens up a world of opportunity.

also - if i were to purchase a guitar, i would def go with a 7 string. a 6 would be confusing b/c the bottom string would be a low E. I'm used to the low B. :o)

  • @MikroBadass Why? This has totally different string spacing, fret spacing, attack, action, its in a different fucking octave. This is a different instrument, stop this horseshit.

  • The diminished run at the end was cool! The entire composition was cool, man! But I think it is rare to see a diminished run incorporated with improv.

    R J

  • @jfufighter you can approach almost any minor chord with a diminished chord.

If playing in c major, you could approach the dmin7 and the amin7 chords with the c#dim and Abdim scales. That is primarily due to the fact that the first two notes in the arpeggiated diminished chords match up with the 3 and the 5 of the 7 chords a 5th below the target.

    think e7->am7 and a7->dm7

it is a very common approach in gospel and rnb music. check out ricky dillard "the light" and pj morton "girlfriend"

  • How long have you been playing the bass guitar?

  • @Teckel9 7yrs

  • my friend, that was extremely impressive. you've got some skill :)

  • @59lamb I'm a fan. I got the b2 to replace my ashdown abm410. I'm a fan of the light weight and the low end response. I had minor issues with the crossover protection circuit on a few occasions - my fault.

The cabs have a very flat response across the whole spectrum. The individual b2s are relatively light...not as light as a b1, but easy to carry around to different gigs.

  • Congratulations, I like very mutch, thanks,

    PP

  • Nice tone & timing man!

That monstrous 7 strings seems hard to handle, but not in your hands dude..

  • simply amazing

  • pretty cool

  • if i had a nickle for every black man i saw playing bass, i propably would have 2-3....

  • ive never seen any bass like this b4 its wicked

  • nice bass dude!... I wish have a bass like that! :D

    see my video! ;)

  • Always a great pleasure to watch your videos! Love your style, your fingers, your sound and your marvelous bass guitar.

  • it looked like a blow up guitar at first!

  • omg do you have tabs for this o a 6 string anyware (prob not but worth asking)

  • Awesome.

  • es el mejor maldito negro del mundo!

  • Damn, dude. I can't even pretend that well.

  • very cool

  • very cool sounds like it would be a great finger workour I will practice this

  • It's actually a great piece of music. :)

  • very smooth i like it

  • NICE FUCKING BASS PLAYING MANS!!!

  • I like this,and is that a Conklin?

  • it's a conklin gt7 with a custom neck and hardware. It was a present from a friend of mine. I like it, but i'm thinking about buying a 6 string mtd. I've got to get out and start playing different basses.

  • go for an ibanez prestige 6! they dont get enough credit. i'd have one of i could afford it, but i just sold my strat to buy a new ibanez gsr206. my first 6er. also, any chance on getting any key info or tabs on that line?

  • Very nice!

well played and awesome gear man! ;)

what kind of looper did you use?

    grtz

  • thanks!

    digitech jamman

  • awesome playign dude!!!

  • Nice one! :)

  • you got some skills

  • cool one!

  • BRAVO!!!

  • Man i gotta practice!! :0

  • this is why bass should get more credit then guitar. its so much smoother and cooler.

  • not more credit just equal

  • they're both cool in different ways. i think the guitar is cool because it is more versatile and you can get so many different sounds from chords to solos with shredding and tons of effects. but i like bass because you can really feel it. either way, great video. did you play that out by ear or can i find the notes online somewhere? thanks!

  • @crapy1356 i too was tainted, had a guitar but switched to bass, love it a whole lot more

  • very good

  • Dope. Beautiful sound from a beautiful bass. I'm going to go practice now....

  • Wow dude that's awesome!

  • you've probably never heard of Les Claypool or Flea

  • and Geddy Lee

  • That was sooo, uhmmmm!

  • Awesome =)

  • Yeah, nice, but you should make it with HQ.

  • Black people love bass!!!!

  • @otrice53

More like white people are too stupid to like bass.

  • @otrice53 i love bass and im not black, but i have to say that alot of great bassist players are black, respect!

  • dam

  • Hell yeah man. Nice.

  • SWEET! :D

  • you're fucking awesome man!! :D

  • lol;-) nice job man right on!!

  • VERY GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you are awesome

  • friggin awesome

  • You are actually pretty good. Plz remove the ticking thou, makes this sound lamer than it is. (like if you cant hold a tempo or something :P)

  • very nice

    that sounded incredible ;)

  • what racist things could you possibly say about this video?

the only thing that comes to mind is the thing about black ppl and bass guitar.

#1 - that wouldn't really be a racist comment, but rather an observation

#2 - They already made fun of blacks and the bass guitar on south park, so it is open season on black guys that play bass. Just make sure that your race-based comments are actually funny...

  • the vid is very nice, i like your bassguitar ;)

  • You are fucking awesome <3333

  • damn tht sum good shit, makes me feel like i'm on a grooving wave or something

  • I'm glad you enjoyed the melody in his video too. I thought it was pretty intense.

  • cool

  • quite boring

  • to each his own?

  • Have you watched Amateur by Lasse Gjertsen? If not you should see it, then comment on this video.

    Great LLroomtempJ

  • lasse´s vid is pretty cool why i say this one is boring, ok? but that doesnt mean this guy is bad, actually is quite good, but this vid is boring, sorry. thats it.

  • It's a video of a man playing bass, insanedb, you can't expect crazy antics like in Lasse's video. Seriously, did you want him to do stop-motion bass? Because then it wouldn't be him genuinely playing. If you want "exciting" don't watch musicians' videos, they are generally tame. It's about the MUSIC

  • i have no idea who you are talking to, but i completely agree. im sick of seeing shred videos, theres no feeling.

  • lol i'm talking to insanedb. He's a few comments down and he was trying to say that this video is boring "in comparison with Lasse's". Well of course it's going to be tame, Lasse's was meant to be a video of impressive VIDEO EDITING, not impressive musical talent. This video is musical talent, and should be viewed as such

  • that was sick man keep it up nice bass.

  • PERFEC'SSSS 5/5

  • get ya jam on

  • coolio :) nice

  • Bass jam in 5/4. Very nice groove man.

  • sweeet

  • Nj man!

  • Wow, that was.. amazing.

    MOAR PLZ!?

  • amazing man, you really hold it down it must have been a task to get that good on a 7 string

  • holy shit a 7 string bass

    nice

  • that's good.

  • good playing obv. but the bass is a bit strange, not sure if i agree with it

  • he would be good at normal guitar

  • fo sho

  • what a bass O.O i want it too

  • Fantastic job. You surely groove.

  • awesome !

  • oh my god 8 stringer :d that is a custom made bass?

  • its actually a 7 stringer lol

and very nice it is too

  • HOLY HELL!!!!!!! NIIIIIIIIIICENESS!! AWESOMENESS!! FANTASTIC!!!! dayum!! you really really did Lasse justice with this!!! 5stars all the way!

  • Awesome, bass solos are amazing

  • Great job Jason.

Forget all the haters, theyre just jealous. And ignorant seeing they dont believe this to be a bass guitar. Imbeciles.

    God bless.

  • What else could it be but a bass guitar?

  • title should be "Jason Atkin - Lassegg's Amateur Bass cover"

  • That was fantastic. You sound like a nice guy to. And your tone, mmmmm.... This is got kind of a sureel feel to it. Again good job.

  • gj!
