My grampsy is 99 years old and I'm 13 I enjoy going to visit him in Ohio just to hear his stories about his life in World War 1 & 2. His wife died before I got to meet her. This song makes me sad because it's so sweet.

I can only hope that the day i depart from this earth, as i take my last breath, i will be able to look back on my life satisfied with the person i was, satisfied with my life as a whole. My grandmother passed away in August and although it was a difficult time for my grandfather, my family, and I... i know that she gave all she had to the people she loved. That is what living is truly about. Live for the people you love and you can never go wrong.

i work in a nursing home as a CNA and it is really sad to see how much they reminisce and wish they had more time :/ but alot of them are thankful to have had such a great long life, and there are some ADORABLE elderly couples that have been together for 50+ years, its so great :)
@axbeexrad26 I do agree. I lost my grandfather back in Feb. He was 88. He and my grandmother were six weeks shy of their 65th wedding anniversary. They had a great life together. Five kids and many many grandkids and great grandkids.

I can only hope that the day i depart from this earth, as i take my last breath, i will be able to look back on my life satisfied with the person i was, satisfied with my life as a whole. My grandmother passed away in August and although it was a difficult time for my grandfather, my family, and I... i know that she gave all she had to the people she loved. That is what living is truly about. Live for the people you love and you can never go wrong.

this is a nice and touching song...im already 22 and it gets in my mind that is so good to live...i dont know if i have memories to bear but i just thought that i might do something to make worth living even if He gave me only 60 or 70 years to live...so that when the time comes for me to reminisce i can tell it is a worth living memories....

This is the song that got me listening to Five for Fighting.
It is still one of my favorites and a lovely video put together by Stephaine.
The shot of the young boy and grandad is poignant.
I now have grandchildren myself and relate to this and the songs lyrics, if i heard this song in the 60's when i was 15 i wonder if it would have changed my outlook on life.

i work in a nursing home as a CNA and it is really sad to see how much they reminisce and wish they had more time :/ but alot of them are thankful to have had such a great long life, and there are some ADORABLE elderly couples that have been together for 50+ years, its so great :)

@axbeexrad26 I do agree. I lost my grandfather back in Feb. He was 88. He and my grandmother were six weeks shy of their 65th wedding anniversary. They had a great life together. Five kids and many many grandkids and great grandkids.

Very hard to watch, I dunno who that man is but he looks almost exactly like my grandfather, before he got sick, before the nursing home, before he died. When he used to sit and tell us stories of the war, and of the way life used to be. Wonderful video, you did a great job at it!
