  • In 1967, Dr Williams came to Chamberlain High in Tampa as a clinician and then as a guest conductor. He spent a great amountof time with our drummers on this one. He told them to play the drum break like they were college frat guys on a Saturday night drunk. When they did...He said..THAT"S THE WAY I WROTE IT! I have a minature score of this piece- signed. and A thermofax of Border Festive. We were the second band to play that one in public performance and read it from the manuscript.

  • @BigRalphODennis Chamberlain marching music festival=my favorite marching festival of the FBA season

  • im playing this on trombone for my middle school advanced band

  • @steamfreak22 were playing it in my middle school advance band too

  • What´s this? The Baton is not a weapon!! And no moves in the orchestra..

  • This is very nice for a high school ensemble.

  • it might have gotten better but i couldn't risk listening beyond the opneing fanfare.

    foo-foo-foooo...

    1) what was the frickin' hurry?

    2) single tongue the opening fanfare: ta-ta-taaa

ta -ta-ta-ta ta ta ta tee ta-ta-taaaa

  • I agree, Brett! Although a great group of young musicians here, the conductor did not do them justice. MANY years have passed since my Dad (Clifton Williams) conducted my H.S., but as I recall, he never rushed leading into the piccolo solo like that.

  • Wow! This performance was one for the ages, and definitely one the players will remember.

  • the kids sound great...but he rushes though missing lots of emotion.Peace

  • Very fine ensemble!! Plays with the passion that is rarely found in young groups. Bravo
