  • parabens ésse garoto se continuar estudando vai ficar bom kkk kondoset-batera@h..

  • terrible quality

  • this is disrespectful to Tony

  • @jayothatboy this is tony...

  • the drummer is a genius! that's too bad quality :-(

  • they should have recorded much better sound!!....shame

  • 29 of yall are jealous

  • @mairava1996

show us how a bass drum front head looks like

    you cant

cuz you aint got a video... loser!

  • for all those who dislike this video its because it reminds you of how much you suck Ahhhhahhhahahahahah Losers;)

And its Mr Tony Royster Effin Jr!

  • this looks like it was recorded off the tv screen

  • Doly Ham dude, you can ROCK!!

  • beautiful color on the kit.

  • sick drumming....

    100%

  • If you are going to take a video of a drummer of this standard don't insult us with this terrible sound quality.

  • Jacob armen still holds the record in my eyes!

  • fuck you

  • i've never liked his style :/

  • boring

  • @im1just1here1 lol go and watch travis barker then u noob

  • @mairava1996 You get a harder sound with those and a bit louder too i would say. Also the "kickport" is supposed to work quite well I´ve heard :D

  • @mairava1996 So what? It's a a bass drum head. All of them are supposed to be loose so you can get that low tone. Remember that every drummer has different preferences.

  • @mairava1996 Mine is tightened just enough so that the screws don´t fall out. If it´s tight you will just get a tone from the bassdrum and you don´t want that.. Just a FAT thump! Unless maybe for some jazz!

  • who cares about the tension of his bass res head? Listen to him play!

  • bass drums always look like that when they are played..

  • @mairava1996 that's to get a deep tuning. really on any drum the head that you actually have to tighten to play is the batter. for his style, (gospel/hip/funk) deeper tunings arerequird which means that the resonant heds will be tuned very loosely.

  • ESSE GAROTO É TOP DE LINHA

  • @odery9

    transolation please

  • See this kid in my eyes is better than Buddy Rich because all of his solo's are different, generally, Buddy's are similar so I'm liking this guy better

  • Buddy's solo's were never the same. The only reason they may have been similar is because all he played was jazz. He wasn't priveliged to have all these newly-formed styles to influence his playing. But until Tony can compose something like the Channel One Suite, or play something like The West Sise Story Medley, then Buddy will always be the God.

  • @vonrus89 Remember that Buddy Rich is jazz. Drumming back then was different than it is today. Do not compare these two, for they are different. Buddy's solos are not the same either. You're just listening to how fast Buddy gets and mix that in with his others, when they are actually much different.

  • i`ve never seen him do the same solo twice............

  • Because generally when your that good, everything is improv, you don't tie yourself to another drummer when you do something. A lot of drums is Improv...

  • the cool thingg about tony royston jr. is that his playing is anchored by hip hop/funk so that even when he goes jazz he never degenerates into randomness (I gotta admit I hate jazz ;-) and his chops never overpower his groove even though he's got the speed and creativity to loose it ala the other jr

  • That was NASTY!!! \m/

  • tl;dw first 30 sec sucked

  • @JasonACbox Just because he didn't do anything fast doesn't mean that it sucked, you tool. Ignorant drummers, ignorant non-drummers, and non-musicians love to make those statements because you all think that's what a solo is all about. You are wrong. Get educated before you post ignorant shit.

  • @Headbanger270 Why are you yelling at people?lol

  • great quality

  • bah guys u can talk shit like u want but this is just not a good vid of him.. they re Lots of better to show u how great he is.. For those who said that he s playing his style, Ure dam wrong.. Cause this the first i listen to tony s playing n said "bof" he could have done lot better.. So please Now i speak to reals pro Drumers.. Plz Dont Jugde him on this Vid.. I can say that he didnd do anyhting until 8:40 .. except that i call all that solo "An incoherent show of speed" Thats my Opinion.

  • You are all going to attack me, but let me say it: I don't care about the psuedo-technical reasons some of you offer for why you claim this is good. It's boring. Period. (First I'll play this for 16 bars. Then I'll do this. And now this. Over and over. The Modern Art crowd will praise my genius.) If you want to be excited by a drum solo, one where they are used spectacularly as rhythm instruments, see Buddy Rich et al.

  • @gitchigoomi Your genius? What genius? You arrogant punk, you just think you're right, don't you? What you fail to realize is that Buddy Rich and Tony are MUCH different. You deserved to be attacked for such an arrogant and ignorant statement.

  • Learn how to read, asshole. I was not writing about myself. Also, I realize Buddy Rich and Tony (happy to see you are on a first-name basis with your hero) are "much" different. Rich is great; Royster is boring.

  • Comment removed

  • @gitchigoomi he may have been boring here, but generally royster is very creative. I'd actually say that Royster is more creative than Rich because he's expanding on the foundations that Rich laid down. I have utmost respect for both drummers.

  • that is his style more or less. its unorthodox its supposed to sound like beautifyl orchastraded chaos-- but if you listen correctly is poetry-- hence why it sounds like randomn beats--IT IS formulated and connected together

  • yep same then and now- he had gotten better- but he needs to progress on style- it gets boring playing the same thing over again. hes great though- plus his style is that and nothing else

  • Overrated? There are a bunch of haters lurking around I see...

  • Sound is....

  • he 's not overated he actually ROCKS but he seems to play the same than when he was 12 years old so péople got borred :(

  • he's so awesome

but i don't like his style

  • How the hell is he overrated? and this was years ago....he's grown now!

  • this sounds bad. :(

  • @overtime2005 it also sounds bad when i'm giving it to your mom overtime. tony royster jr. for president!

  • I hope that this is not going to be some of the best drumming i will ever hear. This is something you are born with. This guy is really gifted.

  • i would like to hear TR Jr play the cheapest, class C drumset.

  • there is a video of him destroying some basement kit, check it out.

  • watch?v=Mu1E4cetkXY

  • love the drumming...ya the bass sounds weird...but tony still is a beast drummer..oh and i like the color, my sets gonna be a little like it

  • yea, it's just tuned REALLY loosely

  • is it just me or does the bass head seem a bit warped?

  • i think it might just be kinda loose

  • u can play tony keep up the good work be bless.........

  • why is the bass drum head so loose?

  • lol, it looks cool when he hits it

  • everybody go to this site i found you can learn crazy chops for free .they gather alot of videos so you dont have to go through the hassel learnmusicfreeDOTwebsDOTcom

  • you sir..are retarded...i would go far enough to say he is the best drummer alive on the planet earth today! i think i could have a large amount of people agree with me too..watch more videos of him..you'll see...

  • hard to believe but I was a t a guitar center messin around and this dude came in but it was when he was really young. we had a drum off then I just watched him for a while. even at like 12 he was rediculously good

  • really? cause tony royster is twenty four right now, this video's older than it looks.

  • :) , good movie

  • who cares if they look at the set...as long as it sounds good

  • dood a lot of ppl look at their sets

  • use spell check

  • I know -I- wear a blindfold when I play my instruments. I mean, really, how else would anyone play?

  • don't be sarcastic

  • Tazzlyn is not being sarcastic! Blindfolds are needed to play any instrument!

  • I hope your joking. Your just plain out retarted if you don't look at your drum set at all. "No actually your suppost to look at the wall behind you when you're playing."

  • well i look sometimes, but i also try to look away a bit, to like, help me become more in tune with my instruments. musical pun not intended.

  • Oh yea I see what you mean I do the same but this dude says "I don't know how he looks at his set while plays, if you didn't know your not suppost to look at your set while playing". Now that's just retarted.

I always look away from my drumset when I make a mistake or something lol.

  • fuck off

  • Well you said your not "suppost" to look at your drum set and I just said your retarted. I guess I shouldn't insult how you play drums but Isn't it a little bit weird that you don't look at your drum set when you play. Where do you look If you don't look at your drum set?

  • well sorry but i don't just stop fukin with me

  • It's ridiculous to say you're not suppossed to look at your drum kit when playing, however, I could play my kit blindfolded as i know it so well it's instinctive and I don't think about where everything is....

  • same!!!!!!!!!

  • I totally agree with ya...check out stevie wonder's drum solo...the proof is in the puddin

  • Elpaco is right and plus thats where all the excitement is lolx..

  • love dw!!

  • WOW !!

This man is Soul of Drums !!

  • It might have sounded better if there was audio....

  • there is audio is just extremely quiet

  • turn it up lol

  • A co ty ja zabijesz?

  • crappy sound. awesome drummer (y)

  • too bad ure checking out all his vids juss to say u dont like him......ure little drum life doesnt account to anything,...take it out on youtube viewers?good luck...

  • 2 all of the haters/drum critics. If you're flow is better than Tony's post it, show us you can smoke this young man, then talk shyt....until then.......shaddup!

  • I think you mean , just another "amazing" pro...Even the pros like him...

  • This is Funny, because the people complaining about holding 'Tony being unable to hold a groove' don't have the ability to solo like this. That's why this is a DRUM CLINIC, the people there came to watch Tony do what HE LIKES TO DO.

  • the guy is obviously a PRO for a reason dude....

  • oh my god your dumb.

its not supposed to be all on the same tempo its a solo. plus, he has excellent rhythm, and his hand techniques are great. hes a great drummer and unless you can top him then you have no room to talk

  • He looks real relaxed.

  • it is actually tuned very loose, you can tell this by the wrinkles around the edges.

  • this is sooo great on so many levels.

  • i was hoping he would have stopped sooner. he can never hold a beat , if your actually a drummer... you can hear those mistakes he makes. like i don't know why hes famous. he has good dexterity but a bad sense of rhythm, ADD drumming technically.

  • alot of famous drummers that are just known for their drums and not with a group cant keep a straight beat i feel like anybody can get on a drums and move the sticks around but a older drummer told me the best drummer are the 1s that can keep a straight beat not the 1s that can hit everything tom and every cymbol and just do alot of fills and licks its not about that

  • you mean cymbal? =Þ

  • If you seriously believe he can't hold a beat you obviously have not seen anything he's done on tour with Jay-Z.

  • he can keep a beat, its just keeping a beat is easy - no matter what music you play. as a good composer, you hafta be able to keep a beat, which tony can. but being a very skilled drummer / percussionist, you hafta be flashy, which tony does a fantastic job and doing. watch more of his vids and you'll see. he is very versatile.

  • gay?

  • hahaha I like the DW sticker on the Pearl Reference series kit hahaha

  • eer? wtf...didn't know pearl kits had DW lugs

  • look at the circle dw badges also...smh

  • He looks young on this video!!!

what a classs drummer though :)

insires so many to continue to practice

night in night out!!! (y) :)

  • All heads wrinkle like that when they are being beat to hell. It's called air. The strike of the beater is pushing a TON of air onto the resonant head.

Also, if he likes his front head just above wrinkle...so what? It's his drums, it's his sound, not yours. You have absolutely zero credibility to comment on his equipment or his playing.

  • i'm gonna go ahead and just throw this out there, but i think after all his years of playing drums, the fact that he's sponsored, tours around the world, and i can pretty much guarantee he has a drum tech.. they know what they're doing, you can play with no drum head if you really feel like it, it just gives you a different sound.. think before you speak.. it usually keeps you from making yourself look stupid, unfortunately for some.. it's a lost cause..

  • SUPERB finger,hand.muscle.dexterity*&no crash AWESOME

  • Are you people idiots????it has nothing to do with wrinkles~LOLOOOLOLOLOLOL its his amazing hits ,,morons!!!!!!!

  • astig

  • umm...do you hear it? sounds pretty sick to me. when you get to micing the drums, especially the kick, things sound a lot different than they might acoustically. if you just heard that kick up close with no micing, it might sound dead and really "slappy", but miced, it gives a short punch - a very popular sound. check out more live videos and if you pay attention you'll probably see a lot of reso heads like that.

  • no if you look at ur bass drum head. see at the edges you can see white spots cuz its wrinkled and therefore the light reflects off of it.

it should be smooth at the edges

    (just trying to help)

  • no...there's no "should" or "proper" way. that's what's great about drumming & music in general: you can do whatever the hell you like. tons of people detune their bass resos like that because it reduces and even elimates unwanted resonance and overtones so they get a nice clean "thud" sound. i'm telling you just look up other live drumming videos and you'll see it all around. there's no "should be smooth at the edges" rule.

  • first guy, you don't even know to call "the black head closest to the camera" the resonant head, and second guy - yeah we understand how we are seeing the wrinkles. thanks for the lesson in optics but we can see it for ourselves. it's not that any idiot couldn't see that the head's wrinkling, but that you don't know that it was purposeful. sheesh...know about the subject before you start giving "advice."

  • okay jeez chill I was just trying to help

  • THAT BASS DRUM ITS PRETTY LOW
