@pking4hjg I liked the price, I liked the portability, and even though the quality is spotty here and there, I like that it forces my embouchure to be exact. I have to wrangle it into the exact pitch because it doesn't have the give of a larger or more forgiving instrument, so each note has to be right on the money if you want it to sound good. A year later, it's done wonders for me in that area. Would I recommend it for everyday use? No. Would I recommend it for extra practice? Yes.
im basicly geting a pocket trumpet for free because my church has one they might let me have and im in band playing the trumpet so i thought about giving it a try
@rwats14 I believe I got it from musiciansfriend. It's been almost a year now since I bought it, so I might be a bit off. =/ Sorry I can't be more help.
I just bought a Merana pocket trumpet and i love it. Real cute. I bought mine for $109 on amazon.com. The valves on mine are fine, don't stick at all, it came with a soft case, mouthpiece, and cleaning cloth. I had a pocket trumpet a few years ago i bought for $150 and it was terrible, i'm impressed by the Merana, mines the gold.
@techjob4u I would highly go against getting a pocket trumpet if your son is going to be in a school band. They are used more for traveling though I have heard of marching bands using them. By the time he gets into middle and high school it's a requirement to use regular concert trumpets/cornets. Normal size trumpets usually have a better sound and tone quality than the mini version. I would suggest renting a trumpet at your local music store. My middle and high schools bands use normal trumpets
king 600 trumpet off craiglist for only $75 The seller used it for 2 yrs in 6th grade and put it away in a closet for the last 25-30 years. Thanks everyone for the input, glad I looked around.
try using good valve oil....ultrapure is the best..also when your oiling the valve dont take the whole thing out of the casing. pull it half way out and put at an acute angle on ur lap so the oil will run down the whole valve plus you have no risk of dropping it! anyway good vid =D
@ry56789 Actually, I already use ultrapure oil. Having looked a little closer, the valves are just a slight bit too big for the instrument so they scrape. Really, the only reason I pull the valves out all the way is because that's what I was taught to do, and while I know better now, it's force of habit, lol. Thanks for your comment! C=
You start out giving it a good review and then everything you say about it is lousy. What do you actually like about it?

Were did you get it for $80 and was that with shipping.
How is it holding up? I am looking for one for my son who is in 6th grade for band vs renting.
Would you buy again or should I avoid, Think about this or the Etude or tristar

@fighting1fefnir Will regular valves from a normal trumpet fit?
CallmeMOE 5 months ago
@CallmeMOE No. The instrument is too small to fit larger valves.
