  • You fucking sing lol....Class

  • 2 good friends, 2 legends, 2 bests frontman, 2 bests bands, 3 great composers (Liam, Noel, Richard) 2 masters of england music... Liam Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft my two big influences

  • Is rite Austin that other dude has lost the plot !

  • @SypherDubstep Indeed you are wrong mate. In 1993 Oasis in fact drove up from Manchester to Glasgow to play in one of the best small venues in the UK calleed King Tuts Wah Wah Club after being invited by a band that shared their rehearsal studios. They were refused entry as they were not on the gig list for that night, so bullied their way in to the club. In the King Tuts that night was Andy McGee, owner of Creation Records...Andy loved it, signed them and the rest is history.....

  • @austin171176 Alan Mcgee* m8, but true story all the same

  • @markslfc9823 I stand corrected young sir, you are indeed correct......don't know where that came from ??

  • @CyberJuanito who cares what he says lol, he's bowing to Ashcroft that's all that matters, boy knows his place!

  • Awww Liams a legend XXX

  • what's the song?

  • @blobberix the verve - the drugs don't work

  • Mega!

  • Yay! lol

  • i would like richard to write with noel =D or maybe they could form a band..

  • 2 Britpop Heros (Y)

  • I was there standing right in front of Richard what a night never to be forgotten

  • @carolfury where was this gig?

  • @swanzzy just read your question, The gig was at Camden Ballroom in London I met Richard in HMV a couple of days before this when he was signing copies of his CD Keys to the World.

  • @carolfury cool!94 i discovered the verve saw them in 97 in glasgow barrowlands and seen richard A a few times solo!lookin forward to hearin his new stuff out v soon

  • I'd like em to do a 4track EP singing together cos an album could be too much of a good thing!

  • And after this Mr Liam snort some coke and beat some poor guy senceless...something like that...

  • Scripted.

  • The GODS of SEX APPEAL...Richard Ashcroft & Liam Gallagher

  • OASIS and THE VERVE = the best bands ever

  • @96Dano add jullian cassablancas in there 2!

  • When Liam was on drugs ALOT during the Be Here Now era and the Verve released Urban Hymms, he heard in a radio interview about the rolling stones getting the rights to bittersweet symphony and said something like "if there messing with the Verve, they can mess with me, 3 O' clock sunday primrose hill, fuckin jagger, smitchards and that other cunt, I WILL BEAT THE LIVING DAYLIGHT SHIT OUT OF YOU" the backlash was massive.

  • @TheMrbollox First of all.Fuck the Rolling Stones and that stick thin Jagger. They are money grubbing, greedy, fucking sell outs! The Verve and Oasis are my favorite all time British bands. And Liam may act like a cocky, abrasive poser in public/concerts.Though he has toned it down. But he is a much more down to earth guy when he is not in the spotlight. And i have seen his pleasant demeanor in one on one interviews.

  • Lovely time?? How the hell is forgetting your words and having nobhead Liam jump on stage a lovely time?

Absolute terrible.. Ashcroft should have been ashamed of himself.

  • @jumpingjackjill without a doubt!!

  • its great to see these 2 legends on stage together, you can tell that they are real good friends

  • to me liam is a real poser rather than real mate. you fuckin said that this two is legend?bloody hell mate.they're not legend, wait for another 20 years and see if they still alive.that's we called legend.some fuckin legend like paul weller, pete townshend, steve marriot and even some say paul mccartney.Mick jagger is king of the legend mate.

  • to me they are legends, liams band oasis had a massive influence on britain and british youth culture. their songs were amazing, people started to dress like them, grow their hair like them they were huge in the mid 90s!!

  • @budakblue059

You talk like you know these people personally....how the fuck would you know if he was a "real mate" or not? They met in 1993, pretty long lasting friendship I'd say.

  • What song is this?

  • The drugs don't work - The Verve

  • Joy Division are from manchester.

  • @Powell04

"Apart from the guitarist (Bernard Sumner) he's from Salford"

  • Why are Radiohead fans on here talkin crap.

    just watch the video ffs.

  • There are two kinds of music. Good music and the other kind. But whats good and whats the other kind is entirely a matter of individual taste.

Oasis were masters of their generation, the right band ,the right songs at the right time, they will be revered in the future in the same way as elvis, the beatles ,the who and the pistols were.

  • tats not liam its nole

  • nope its deffo liam theres only one liam

  • @thecritic2007 yeah i think your right!

  • @golgyn 12345

beatles have sold 1 billion singles worldwide lol oasis have sold 300 million singles worldwide..have a bit of respect lads.

ive seen oasis 8 times im a true fan but why do you think liam and noel are sooo obsessed with the beatles ??? say no more

  • the beatles have had an extra 30 years on oasis though.....

  • @goldyn12345 dont be daft oasis are one oh my favs but up there with the beatles do some research mate

  • @nick6660 are seriously trying to tell me that supersonic, ciggs and alcohol, live forever, rock n roll star, wonderwall, dont look back in anger and some might say aint up there with the beatles? i think you need to do your research!!!!

  • @nick6660 Hate people connecting OASIS to the mighty BEATLES firstly I lov OASIS too but I can name more then just the BEATLES who are better THE VERVE/THE STONE ROSES/THE SMITHS/JOY DIVISION!! The guy needs to go litsen to the white album!!

  • The Verve are not better than Oasis, they only have Urban Hymes

The Stone Roses are not better than Oasis, they only have The Stone Roses.

As for The Smiths and Joy Division both top bands and it would be a matter of opinion on whos better them or Oasis.

I personally prefer Oasis because they were the band of my youth, i was too young for the Smiths and Joy Division. But as for the others Oasis are definatley better.

    Beatles are best

  • @iziot1 OASIS are not a band, I like em & been loving em alot more since Liam has been writting, & ther best albums are the first 2 & the last 2, the problum is none of ther albums will mach /The Stone Roses/ or The Smiths The queen is dead!!! OASIS is just really Noal! now they've split do U think Noal is gonna suprise anyone with a new musical direction like IAN BROWN did? no I don think! it'l be a OASIS album with no Liam!!

  • @handsomedevil98

I agree with you that Noel is pretty much Oasis but Liams voice is better than Noels so although he wrote nothing for their first two albums they still needed him.

I disagree with you though saying no Oasis album will match The Stone Roses/ Smiths. I think Definatley Maybe is one of the best debut albums by any band, trumped only by The Stone Roses imo. However while The Stones made nothing worthwhile after that Oasis made Whats the Story Morning Glory!! Top band i tink!

  • @iziot1 I get what U sayin but & these bands we're talkin about also had great B-sides, The ROSES B-sides are better then most bands album mataral! its only The roses second album which was like /BE HERE NOW/ back to the verve while OASIS were at ther peak in 1997 fm NO1 band they ended up 3rd after The Verve & Shitty Radiohead, Roses second album fuckt up like /Be here now/ cuz of J Squire writting without Ian Brown! Still Roses' B-Sides are better then OASIS flop albums!

  • @iziot1 PS: Do remember THE SEX PISTOLS had only one album too!! & look how they are remembered, would U go for 1 Crown Diamond or 6 Pearls?

  • Sex Pistols only had 2 good songs, TBH. They're not really remembered for the songs themselves, which weren't very good aside from God Save the Queen and Anarchy In the UK, they're remembered because they were pioneers in the punk genre. In any case... in my opinion The Smiths and Radiohead are just one long monotonous whine, and both are relics of their time. I discovered Oasis 9 years after Morning Glory (being only 20 now) and their tunes are still just as awesome today as they were then.

  • your joking right the smiths shit all over oasis, oasis are good the 4th best band out of manchester after 1 smiths , 2 stone roses , 3 joy division

  • radiohead are a pile of WANK

  • do some stand up

  • well radiohead don't hold a candle to oasis, the verve, the stone roses.

  • Agreed! Big Time

  • yeah man

  • @Ally20791 OMG u r SO right. I had to sit next to Thom Yorn dude from radiohead and there was a fun food fight at the dinner table..and he was like a person needing a bottle of Prozac.....the worst person ever to sit next to at a dinner party.

U know I would have gotten made freaky and been under the table having the time of my life with Liam, richard.......or Stone roses (smoking a bowl and making out)

  • @MiamiDolfan what the fuck

  • @Ally20791 agreed...except for oasis...they are a huge pile of shit

  • @theachtungtree your a pile of SHITE.

  • @Ally20791 oh my god...how creative...repeating what i just said, a 11 year old reply, i'm impresed, congratulations...you're as groundbraking as oasis

  • @Ally20791 i meant "an", just in case...i don't want you to reply me back like "lol...you type like an 11 year old", that would be so cliche and i personaly hate cliched replies

  • @Ally20791 You mean they are undisputably at least thrice better, right?? (you f***in......)

  • @Jacobanko shut up cunt

  • Couldn't disagree more.

I think Bodies is the best Pistols song. Followed by EMI, but the entire album is class.

  • @IAMCANADIAN1998 -In saying "they're remembered because they were pioneers in the punk genre" your saying thar their songs were important enough to develop music in England and the world. Much more than "2 good songs".

  • @iziot1 oh No argument over THE BEATLES being the best thou! ;-)

  • @iziot1 They have northern Soul thats a great album

  • You say that you are to young to have an opinion on The Smiths. Joy division or Oasis??

Be wary of your ending thread that the Beatles are best,

I'm sure Noel, Liam Gallagher, Ian brown, Richard Ashcroft Would be laughing at your silly comment as they are all palls of the same era. So your views are pointless my idiotic friend

  • @TheNobility100

I never said i was too young for Oasis mate, read before you speak. I was too young when bands like Joy Division, The Stone Roses and The Smiths were still making music. However i have since bought some of their albums so know what they are about.

I said i thought Oasis were better than these bands because i grew up on Oasis. Definatley Maybe was the first album i bought as a kid. Thats why i prefer them to the likes of The Smiths because they mean more to me.

  • You, My idiotic pupil should have been drowned at birth. And I Aint ya mate.

    And I didn't speak I typed

  • You are a fucking clown. You havent made one relevant or interesting point, even your attempts at insulting me are amateurish and retarded.

Your best bet is to get back to sucking on your ma's nipple and leave the conversation to the grown ups..... DOPE!

  • @TheNobility100

Why should i beware of saying The Beatles are the best band of all time? They are my favourite band and this website is about people expressing their opinions.

Why exactly would Noel, Liam etc be laughing at my "silly" comments? They are all friends, so what? How does the fact they are friends render my views pointless?

You appear to be the idiot, what was the point of your comments exactly. To come across as an ignorant, petty, retard, congrats you achieved it!!

  • how you doing ya little nerd???

  • I'm a big Oasis fan but they are nowhere near the best band ever... but do your research, neither are the beatles. Popularity-wise theya re but then i guess that makes Elton John better than oasis...

  • nah dunno Oasis are the best band ever because they have the best songs ever. Its as simple as that.

  • im glad to see this richard reminds me of liam great stuff.

  • i like oasis but the verve has just four albums and have the same or maybe more memorable songs in their turbulent career.

  • i cant believe that you are talking this..

  • Richard Ashcroft wrote much better songs than Noel.

  • i love both bands, but its so wrong that u say the verve had better songs, verve had 6 good songs, oasis have 100. all you need to do is look at the vereves new album, i bought it excited, but its was awful the only song i liked was the only one they brought out

  • well all of definitely maybe to start with, thats more than 6. do i have to name more

  • supersonic, ciggs and alchol, live forever, rock n roll star, wonderwall, dont look back in anger, some might say, those songs are up there with the beatles in my opinion!!!!

  • omfg sort ya life out mate

  • tienen razon no necesita ayuda los dos son grandes

  • no mamen!!! mis dos heroes se me enchino la piel... los dos son unos cabrones

  • Richard Ashcroft is a true class act

  • how many times have the berbe spliy?? im not sure he could teach them anythin, the verve do 6 months then split again

  • Richard didn't need any help. Electric Ballroom 2006 - awesome night!

  • Noel was the captain (or guvner) and liam was the motor but liam got noel to join so its just as much his band as it is noel even though all he did was sing noel's songs

  • Back in the old days in Wigan Richard was known as "THE WIGAN MAGPIE". This is because one day when her were like, 13 or 14 he managed to catch about 10 magpies from his garden over a weekend. Hed then use the magpies to bake a magpie pie.

  • liam unfortunately will not have a solo career. i love noel and liam equally, both fantastic at what they do, noel will have a shining solo career.

  • liams wrote a couple of half decent tunes, i dont know, he could surprise everyone!!!!

  • songbird and ain't got nothin. simply stunning

  • @goldyn12345

Even a 5th grader can write better lyrics than 'little james'...but gotta concede fact Liam's improved quite much since then..

  • @seasonedsevencolors yeah, we will see what his album is like

  • Thats what they Said about that sad fuck Robbie, & Oh more important & Ian Brown, they all said John Squire was gonna do better!! but they won't reach the hights of Ian Browns innovitive solo Career, can't see what new fresh diff direction of music the OASIS solos boys will take?

  • Richard is truly inspirational!

  • Out of the two nights he played this venue, I went to the one where he didnt play Drugs Dont Work, Song For the Lovers, and Liam didn't appear.

    I failed.

  • Liam & Rich ..

    what can be better ?

    OMG!!

  • two geniuses on stage!!!!

  • One genius. Now if it was Noel and Richard you would have two.

  • you prefer noel, great front man though liam!!!

  • Yeah i'll give him credit there he's a legend character and a great frontman. I just think that with Oasis Noel was the captain and Liam was the motor.

  • yeah thats one way of putting it, i wonder how their solo careers will be now that oasis have split. obviously liams songwriting capabillites are limited compared to noel. it will be interesting to see!

  • I would have loved to see this live... someday maybe XD

  • fookin legends

  • Looks more like Noel ? :O

    Both legends though.

  • it's definetly liam

  • first time ive seen liam worship someone that wasnt himself! waht a pair of legends!

  • is he Liam?

  • when was this?

  • i miei due idoli!

  • both legends luv em both <3 x.x.x

  • they're legends

  • Love them so much!

  • Richard Ashcroft is the best!

  • you fu**in say it... never comin down... come on...

  • i would'nt think ashcroft would forget his words, you should change the video description mate x

  • He wanted to say. that he was struggling with the word. Or don't ya know that this song is pretty much about his father?

  • what does he say?

  • idiot.

  • C'mon this is friendship,,,,, and everybody writes shit here.......

  • no.

    fail.

  • richard said that oasis change his life, richard is a really good musician and oasis are a great band, so don´t said shit

  • dont be ridiculous man. if you dont like oasis at least respect them. its truly stupid not admitting their success and and contribution to music.

  • what song is he singing? sounds really good

  • The drugs don't work

  • thanks

  • thanks dave91uk

i am deemed to work their in uk as a nurse. hope i cud find some OASIS fans there who'd like to jam their songs when i get there. i play vocals & guitars here in our city.

  • SweetT79,

    you mean, Noel gallagher or

    Paul "bonehead" arthurs?

    Oasis rocks!

  • liam and noel have another brother, paul.... so it could have been. plus noel and liam dont really hang out outside gigs

  • Gallaghers and Ashcroft have more talent than Gay-Z, Gaystreet Boys, Shitney Spears, P(ussy) Diddy combined. I'm 19 and i love most of the music, but you got to recognize talent of Oasis and Verve (Urban Hymns especially). Their lyrics have meanning, soul and message. Oasis and Verve to lame ass boybands is like compareing Heidi Klum to Rosie O'Donnell. Peace.

  • well said brotha

  • bum boy

  • ugh not again...totally different style, this goes also for thome york. i like all of them personally but really love oasis' r&r attitude(rare in our days)

  • Agreed. Coldplay are awesome too, they have meaning.

  • tatally agree!

  • Coldplay are boring. Just like you, I suppose.

  • drop dead cunt

  • shut your gob, pollard

  • fuck off cock breff

  • what he said?

  • I saw Liam & Paul Gallagher & Bonehead in the cafe I was in prior to going to the gig. It was obvious why they were there.

The best night was the Wednesday, then the Thursday & then the Tuesday.

  • This was at the Electric Ballroom in Camden in Jan. 2006. (I was there the following night).

Have you heard about 'Snakeskin'? (The rarest Verve record ever to come to light last week!) You could win it - check it out on The Verve Online website (google)

  • verve!!

  • los amo

  • Ashcroft is one of the most talented singer song-writers to hit the UK. Live on the Verve
