  • @wikalongyou...sorry couldn`t disagree more ...there`s no more feeling in any kind of music than `legitimate` blues...That rap junk is crap...money making bull*#^*$#!!!!

  • @twinsof86 I agree, i'm sure there was feeling in it originally, but since it exploded in the 90's and everyone is doing it, it's just a money thing now.

  • B.B. King said Carole King came up with hook and they built the song around it..great song all around.

  • "I got to go to work this morning, seems like everything is lost. I got a cold hearted, wrong doin' woman, and slave drivin' boss."

  • How can someone dislike this?

  • My father loves the hell out of this song!!!!!!

  • my fav from The King

  • I didn't give a crap about BB until I heard this song. I was floored. This is the song I play for people when they ask me why I like old blues music. This song with a few drinks in you makes you "get" it.

  • the true master

  • Im 17 and i think i was born in the wrong era. True music right here.

  • ALRIGHT NOW!

  • First at home, then at school, now here on youtube, truth for tobacco oh wait I mean truth against tobacco, is bombarding us with its disturbing images. Yes smoking is bad, no I don't want to see holes in peoples throats or brains being cut in half, or crap being squeezed from a artery.

  • my grandpa sings this so much i have to like its tattoo'd in my brain lol

  • Though plenty rappers use this & sample this beat & it sounds pretty fuckin awesome... & dont give a damn what no one says, i think the original is pretty fuckin awesome, goes hard & catches your fuckin emotions. & its sweet how old this song is but it has a hip-hop rhythm in it.

  • Solid BB

  • i dont know but i like this song!!

  • the only reason you say that wlkalongyou is because you cant understand it.

  • The one person who disliked this probably accidentally hit the wrong button.

  • Saw the KIng in concert, and it was epic. Best show to see stoned, hands down. Hail the king of blues!

  • @acdc4200 Dude I saw him at Telluride Blues and Brews festival last year and I couldnt agree more. To see a living legend like BB was a memory of a lifetime!

  • Prodigy sampled this to....This song is called "Money Is A Weapon" a true banger

  • Strings orchestra, Electric Piano, King's guitar and classic blues lyrics is the perfect combination.

  • Can't believe I have the chance to see the King in the flesh this coming Saturday, live! I'm so excited, I thought that he would have passed away by now. That's a real musician, playing 'till the day they die - even in bad health and old age.

  • @KidsWithGuns1992 his health is great, what are you talking about?

  • @kalai131 Is it? Oh I thought that I had heard he was in bad health, but if that's not the case then awesome.

  • yes, this is life (B.D. 17 y'rs ol')

  • Feeling at the pure estate. Great BB.! Number One!

  • how could u dislike

  • Holy hell this is heavy.

  • A Bird in the Hand Indeed, just followed it from someone mentioning it in the comments on the Cube song, fuck me, i listened to Death Certificate when i was fifteen in 1991/2, just come back to it now and could still remember most of the lyrics. Superb, as is this song which ive just found thanks to the sample.

  • @TheSalientSoul Rememba that DJ Pooh/Ice Cube originally used this sample in the movie Boyz 'N Tha Hood...they seen when Tre was on his way home from the cookout to bring his pops some food, 'n the car of Bloods roll'd up on him ('n dude whip'd the shotgun out on him)!!! The original is a classic tho'...B.B. King was a monster!!!

  • @TheSalientSoul thats cool homie! i just randomly found this song i was stoked when i realized its ice cube!

  • Merciii,

  • One of my favorite B.B. songs. Fact is, this is one of my ringtones :-) Good stuff!!

  • who was the asshole who disliked this

  • Epic song.

  • only thing i need is the floor of my dark room,

a lonely rainy night and a few whiskey sours,

..just listening to the sound of Lucille crying

  • This is a monster...Good Job bb...

  • Damn i wish i could've seen him at bluesfest this year

  • As a vocalist and song writer, i have a lot of love and respect for all musicians of all sorts of music. I know how much work and dedication all of you have to put into a song. Thank you all! Oh yeah; and I love this song. just listen to that guitar and BB's voice; such emotion. What a work of art. Thank you for sharing with the world!

  • one hell of a song that stopt me in my tracks when i first herd it why is this song so underated if his vocals and guitar work are not giving the sound of pain i downt know what is he can make his guitar sound how his vocal moods are there are not meny people who can express there fellings through vocalising and playing the guitar at the same time

  • Man, anytime your down just pop BB king in and it all melts away. The man hits everything that your feeling. Cheapest therapy session you will ever get

  • @vmprophet

These Blues is my health care plan. BB is my heart and soul surgeon

  • @MrBluesrules My health care plan as well. Bad ass song.

  • Where did the ONE dislike come from? They must have missed the like button on accident LOL

  • one of the greatest songs ever

  • Great music, the gituar is talking to me.

  • im 20 years old born 1990 and this is still relavent for my times the reason is because bb king is a real artist who makes timeless music love it and my kids will love it u know y one word timeless

  • oh hell yeah....

  • fucking hero

  • im 20 years old this song came out before my father was born i think but timeless music will always be here classic ...amazing ....TIMELESS

  • midnitegt, i'm with you, so glad I had the privilege of being brought up on real music with soul and a story...I saw B B king about ten years ago now when I was 16 and it was still the gig of my life

  • It's horrible to live in a day where so many people listen to that mainstream hip hop and have no real ear for real music. I'm 24 and I just thank my father for letting me know what real music is, I remember this was the first B.B. king song I heard when I was in riding down the road with my father. I will make sure I pass this amazing genre down to my children, so they know what real music is and not just know songs about backin that ass up. May you live forever BB!!!

  • This song is tasty

  • So talented musician!

  • this is one of the greatest blues songs of all time.

  • no fancy video - but the greatest song of all time. I love BB King

  • One bad ass blues tune!

  • wow, this song will get to you..

  • I personally love any blues tune played by B.B. King!

  • Ole "B" Them Chains and "Thangs" Tell it "B'

  • UGK Under Ground Kingz! You already know the Hook! if you don't! I guess its cause you not from the South!

  • muito foda man!!!

  • one great track i love it

  • Rza "Cant Lose" sample @ 2:45 from Digital Bullet Cd

  • I'm not going to lie, I don't know his songs well, but this is amazing. Do you know any others with slower tempo?

  • @Szeptun "Going down slow" powerfull tune, really amazing!

  • @Szeptun

Try "Lucille" by the B. and "I need your love so bad" by Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac. AND, "I'll play the Blues for you" by Albert King. Man you are in for what will be the ONLY kind of music that will not let go of you. You are done, and will forever be a bluezer. Enjoy the best music ever, Blues Rules!

  • @MrBluesrules as a person who is passionately moved to the depths of my very core by jazz music, I feel it's a bit closed minded for you to consider this the ONLY music that can get a person off.

Don't misinterpret this as hating on the blues. I can't stop listening to this track, and I'm crazy excited about going to see BB on Valentine's Day :)

Jimi Hendrix album "Blues" is really, really nice as well.

Some amazing Jazz Blues: search for Hank Mobley Soul Station.

    Viva Montaigne!

  • @tristramshandy3 Well then ya gotta love John Coltrane, and Miles Davis',Summertime , Porgy and Bess. I'm always taken by Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond doin the Take Five, or live at Newport 1958. But these Blues won't let go, and I gotta have the B.

  • @MrBluesrules Miles Davis' album Kind of Blue is the greatest studio recording in the history of music. After that, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, and Thelonious Monk are my heroes.

    Life is good.

Have you read the complete essays of Montaigne yet?

My hope is to inspire 100,000 people to do just that.

The world would be so much better!

  • @tristramshandy3

Haven't read Montaigne. I will give it a look. I would recommend to anyone, "Wealth of Nations" by Adam Smith. We could all use a better understanding of the integrety, and proper ethics of the economics of capitalism without the criminal element.

  • @MrBluesrules Smith had been on my "to read" list for years. I am not convinced that capitalism without the criminal element has or ever will exist. In fact, it seems just the opposite.

    Take care.

  • @tristramshandy3

Adam Smith is a fine read. I do believe Capitalism can be of benefit to all people. The current structure of world economics, and Friedmanist Shock Doctrine just won't allow for it. It's a crime.

  • @tristramshandy3 actually, forget Mobley; if you want crazy good Jazzy blues listen to SOULVILLE by Ben Webster. It's orgasmic :)

  • B.B. King said Carole King, who is playing the keyboards on this track and most of the album, Mississippi seeds, came up with the opening bars...great song.

  • Good diggin in the crates on this one, the producer of Ice cube's "A bird in the hand" 3:37

    sweet loop

  • I like

  • el blues y el jazz son mejores que el heavy metal

    you know what im saying?

  • Cold Hearted Wrong Doin Woman,

    and a Slave Drivin' Boss.

I here you loud and clear on that B.B.

  • Rap/Hip Hop has been around for almost 30 years, but young people act like it was discovered by their generation- when in fact it was force fed to them by Corporate America. Some of it is great to work out to, or dance to, but compared to Blues, they don't hold a candle. If all you listen to is that kind of music, you are emotionally stunted.

  • Someone who likes rap will tell you blues is baaaad, and someone who likes blues will tell you rap is baaaad, neither of these two are right or wrong. There´s nothing wrong with an opinion

  • u got that wrong, my no. 1 music is rap, but i LOVE blues, it calms me down n makes me think

  • I love hearing and playing blues, but I also love dancing to Hiphop and breakdancing. Is there anything bad...?

  • @wlkalongyou hell yeah! you know what you're talking about! I don't even listen to rap. There is just so much greater music out there I don't know how people even like it.

  • @wlkalongyou I hope you're not talking about all hip-hop, cause i wouldn't say that Blues, or any genre is so untouchable, just cause it's older or helped inspired hip-hop, that doesn't mean shit

  • @wlkalongyou lol I love blues, but Im sorry you had to try and slay rap to get some likes, because if you knew better then you'd know most rappers love blues because it birthed rap music. rap where im from is called urban blues. And if you listen to just one type of music, period, you are emotionally stunted. not just rap.

  • @wlkalongyou I agree 100%.

  • @wlkalongyou: "Emotionally stunted"? Nothing is black and white, learn to live in the grey. To say that rap artists aren't pouring some type of real "emotion" or "soul" into their work is....well.....retarded.

  • @Lordmazrim666 You are right, except for the part of using the word retarded, I would say it's rather selfish or unreal

  • @Lordmazrim666

Its hard to be black & white in a grey world that we live in

  • Rhyming like a 5th grader talking about Bitches, Hoes, Benz, Rims and Benjamins IS defeinately stunted.

Jews own the music industry and promote that BS.

You can spell crap without rap

  • @StSimonMartyr you sir are right. i dont see how TALKING about how many hoes you have and money is considered music.

  • @wlkalongyou Righto mate...

  • I'm sorry, but Rap, Hop, Acid Rock, thrash metal etc. don't hold a candle to blues, rock and classical. Blues, Rock and Classical bring up more complex emotions and feelings then most pop music. Getting people angry, or frustrated is pretty easy to do with music, but more complex emotions are a lot harder to transmit to the audience. BB transmits complex feelings without even singing- something the hip-hop, rap, etc cannot do.

  • im only (14) 8-9-94 and i love blues. Wish i had the guitar style like he does.

  • @gamerfuel kick ass

  • @gamerfuel dude you're 14.. don't give up yet there's still time.. but first i think you have to really try and then die a few times over again.. that's where the true passion comes from. but hey, i'm 29 years old and still learning.. but yeah.

  • really? you're talking about rap on the greatest bluesist's video? you people suck. i love blues, could play it all day, some jazz too, but rap can't compare to that, rap has no love, only drugs and players. and there's some exceptions, especially old school rap, but even still.

  • hey lamDUFF, shut the hell up, you dont understand hip hop, so why dont you get off your computer and pretend its 1957

  • sick as hell, fav rap group UGK samples this on their classic track "Aint That A Bitch" ft. Devin The Dude

  • does anyone have to tabs for this song???

  • im only (28) 1-2-81 but i love this old school shit

i love the (ice cube) bird in hand version or song with the gutar riff sample from this also especially when the red car pulls up in boyz-n-the hood movie & its bumping when heomey rolls down the rear window & pulls out the shotty

  • u need to listen to "UGK - Aint That A Bitch" they sample that BB King song "Chains N Things" and IMO did a wayyyy better job then Ice Cube's track u were talking about.

  • I like the UGK version but Bird in The Hand is much better. That is one of the all time great samples and is backed up by great lyrics. IMO Cube's best song.

  • thats my part

  • In reponse to montecarlomayne, and tw69hands2, you are SO right. This is one of the most amazing songs ever. I literally think it is the best song ever created. Fucking amazing.

  • i think i can honestly say this is the best song ever made

  • Only song that can honestly move me to tears.

  • Calling any one song the best would be difficult, but this is DEFINITELY one of the best for sure.

  • Feel that passion.

  • yooooooooooooo they should have jus kept goin off da 3:38 dat was fire BB KING = G.O.A.T

  • listen to ice cube

    a bird in the hand

and tell me wht you think

  • This is my joint..thanx 4 the upload!

  • In my opinion this is his best song.

  • UGK-Aint That A Bitch!

  • g-unit used it too

  • everybody samples this

  • 2:45...bobby digital sample!!!!

  • cant lose...cant lose...cant lose...cant lose.cant lose...cant lose...cant lose...cant lose.cant lose...cant lose...cant lose...cant lose.cant lose...cant lose...cant lose...cant lose.cant lose...cant lose...cant lose...cant lose.

  • As we say down here in the south, "This natural born, down home raw blues." This is too heavy for any lightweights that don't understand it.

  • 3:37-3:48...Ice Cube-A Bird In the Hand lol

  • Prodigy from Mobb Deep just used it too on "Money Is a Weapon"

  • When I saw that Ice Cube sampled it from BB King I had to check it out and I'm amazed. It's pretty cool how this one riff can be used in such a different context...

Gotta love Ice Cube and BB King.

  • @Ctownboi3 and last year prodigy, whit money is a weapon :P

  • @Ctownboi3 yeah the funny thing is, if you listen to Bird In The Hand, Cube is rappin' about the same misfortune.

  • @Ctownboi3 Yeah that is a nice sample right there.

  • Bud, this is chitlins' grits, eggs and meat, that good shit that will put you to sleep!

  • CUZ that is that deep, down soul right there!

  • One of his most underrated songs

  • @kzearo::::::::::Hell yeah!!! Agreed.

  • amazing
