unfortunately this robot is only programmed to do most of the things you see here. unlike the Boston Dynamic robots that are made to think for themselves and not rely on map to follow. The Japanese are far to focused on the heavy programming and should be trying to make these robots better than just making them look good.

The thing about humanoid robots is that they are, and will be, completely useless, until we get REALLY good at making them. This is why I approve of Japan's state-driven humanoid program. Capitalism on its own just isn't going to get one of these things into every one of our living rooms. It might give us something like Mr. Handy from Fallout (which would be pretty cool anyway), but it won't give us this.

When the difference between producing enough food to feed a family and enough food to feed a nation is effectively moving a slider bar, there won't be any need for an economic system. But that's more like "the future = 3000 A.D." I'm talking more in terms of "the future = 2050-2100 A.D."

Wow, only 325k? Those joints are excellent- the tracking movements are as well. Think of the applications! I DO think that in the field the machines should have rounded limbs and a heavy rubberized covering(less chipping, less damage at impact with other objects- cushion against impacts).
