@Mysteryismyname well tegan originally wrote the lyrics as, "when your nineteen" rather than "i was nineteen" so i think because its about feeling nineteen and getting your heart broken all over again, she's sort of saying "when you feel like this, call me"
maybe its remembering who she loved when she was nineteen, how she wanted them to call so bad, but they weren't interested.. dude i honestly don't know. nobody does except tegan. but its art, its a beautiful song thats my outlook :]

@DpHc14 The original lyrics didn't say 'I was nineteen, calling' until the last chorus, the ones before that were 'when you're nineteen, call me.' Someone has the demo on youtube with the original lyrics. Pretty sure it's about falling in love with an older girl who tells her to wait until she's nineteen, and she waits, and then the older girl has moved on. =(
I dunno why they changed the lyrics, I like the older version better.
