  • I have to say, I feel so grateful for my bogu now, not so much the money I paid for it but more so for the people and effort that went into it.

  • most of the important parts of bogu is futon & leather, can it be replace with jeans cloth or some other alternative stuff?

  • Exceptional craftsmanship! This is why I have great respect for Japanese people, they turn whatever they touch into an art and pour their souls and hearts into it.

  • im just 14 and mine was almost 700 dollars because it was handmade but it pays off becaus factory made ones are usualy made out of synthetic fiber and they tend to break early i know i have both types

  • ..lucky....i have the plastic or synthetic one im not sure but its not bamboo thats for sure....i was getting to class once and since we dont have a dojo we borrow a gym so we have to wear our bogu becides the men before we get there cause the booking time is short....and it was december and i slipped on the ice and fell which scratched up my do and left these plastic fiber bits hanging around which i had to pull off....plus i was out for like 3 weeks from the cuts on my palm and knee....

  • No wonder why handmade bogus cost so much! Looks like one hell of a work! Fascinating.

  • These are handmade, and are works of art. Chances are many of yours are factory made, but I'm glad foreigners appreciate the process though. Japan makes a pretty penny with these sometimes :)

  • Great video!! But knowing this my Boju will cost me about 1200.00+ NZ when I order my later this year, though I'm learning its the journey and not the destination in Kendo that's important and not the time it takes!!

  • now I can really understand why bougu´s are so expensive, I though that it was all made by machines, but I was completely wrong Lol!

  • they didn't show how to make a Tare...may be because it's similar to the top part of the Men...and that is a 1 mm bogu, the most expensive of all. it can coast more than u$s 1000

  • Are you sure? I thought that all hand made bogu was measured in bu rather than in mm. This set looked to me like it was 2 or 1.5 bu.

  • Yes you may be right thanks for teling me

  • they did not do everything.

  • yeah... !

  • no wonder a set of bogu costs so much.

  • Agree

  • holy cow how can it be so shinny...
