what the, you don't get 1666mhz (unless you were to OC it to that) RAM.

you must mean 1066, that's like the lowest end ddr3.

By my knowledge DDR2 1200MHz would kill DDR3 1066.

DDR2 has better and lower latencies. Yes DDR3 has lower voltage, but 1200 is faster, and the lower lantencies will help.

But DDR3 will go so much further.

No, it can only have either. so if you want ddr3 then you can't have ddr2 with ddr3 it will not work. Look on the asus website for details. =]

Yes this you can use Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Extreme and Core 2 Quad...you get extreme overclocks on this my cousin bought Core 2 Duo i don't remember which model but it's original clock is 1,8 ghz and he overclocked it to 3,6 ghz pretty stable!! This motherboard rocks

I have this board, it's decent but for gaming it's a pain. You can't use SLI, crossfire or have a dedicated physx card, there's no room for those.

I plan to upgrade to a GTX 285 this summer and then get another one maybe 6 months from now but that will require me to get a new mobo.

S/PDIF is a DIGITAL input/output, which means it doesn't carry analog signals (the ones that our ears hear), just digital audio(a digital representation of the audio we hear). S/PDIF uses coaxial OR optical cables(the Toslink connector ones).

Continuing.... The difference only resides int the type of singal that goes on each cable, since you can't use a rca cable on a optical connector with a adapter, the signal needs to be converted. With both types, you can use cable runs up tp 6 meters long. You can plug into your surround sound IF it has a optical input.

Here's the weird part, when i go to Express Gate since this motherboard has Linux OS integrated, and i use the internet and put a video there's Sound!! but no sound in my windows xp OS that i just installed. I just installed windows and all other drivers work fine except the Sound.

People if your going to buy a p45 mobo. Get one of the ASUS P5Q series. I have the P5Q-E, it is ultra stable, cool, and EXCELLENT for overclocking. I have my Q9450 running at 3.7GHz with air cooling. I also havn't changed the voltage wither! Its alos running with ddr 1200 memory.
