  • I remember seeing this for the first time in the early 1980s and loving it. Before Health and Safety, which would have disallowed those children from appearing in this video, not only for the scaffolding, but also for the fact that the band members hadn't been CRB checked! What a world we live in now!

  • Alaska y los Pegamoides - Quiero salir is a cover of this song, nice version too.

  • Nice the original line-up! Good song!

  • Wished to of been in this video as a kid was about ten-ish when this came out!

  • i wonder how they got those kids

  • Super injunctions. Playground twist, been watching the video, from 1979 and as i remember a song about intrusive tabloid journalists snooping around and recorded over 30 years ago. I left my copy of the single in a stolen ford escort. I was hitch hiking and was offered the car by the lads who gave me a lift having stolen it. Rather than go to their town and aquire the car i chose to get out as they were all under 16 had to climb out the window and left the single on the back seat.

  • Saw Siouxsie and the banshees in 81 Great souvenir !!!!

  • This group scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. Subsequently, I loved them. This song would never ever get anywhere near the Top 75 these days - they just would not tolerate it. Which shows just how far leftfield it was. Cowell would have a fit. Hopefully. For info, the song is about the cruelty of kids playground games. The lyrics are the cleverest I've ever heard: "Laughing with your buddies, but you can drown when you're shallow......." Brrrrrrrrr

  • love how everyhting is in black and white,it's so visceral. <3

they'd never make it through the ''x-factor'',no decent bands would.all pure manufactured shiiiiite does though, all auto tuned, all bland.hope they play this and other amazing stuff when the world blows up in 2012 and we all go off to outer sirius or where ever...

  • lol HANGIIINNNG!

  • Ok, what was that about?

  • theyre like get the goth chick

  • No wonder Ive always ad a repulsion of kids, scarry.

  • How cool must it be for those kids to tell THEIR kids "that's me up there with Siouxsie"? Instant credibility.

  • Who's the drummer?

    HE'S SO CUTE.

  • this video scares me . these ch\ildren are more scaring than romeros zombies

  • Saw them in 79@ manchester apollo, watching this just took me back.Gr8 song!!

  • @shokalokaboom I was at that gig, mate. It was when Morris and McKay left and Budgie and Smith played that night. Ya?

  • Reminds me of a dark version of the Chorlton and the Wheelies theme tune

  • Those kids didn't know how lucky they were.

  • HeroinBleeds, I'm 13 years old.

  • I've always wondered how the Banshees got so many parents willing to lend their kids for such a grim song, beginning with hanging and ending with drowning. Today, most of those kids must be parents themselves. Playground Twist is undoubtedly a perfect lullaby before turning out the light }:-)

  • Is Robert Smith on guitar?

  • Yes, in the Cure. But not here.

  • Nooooooooooooooooo! It was the brilliant John McKay. I actually didn't buy any more studio albums after Join Hands. McKay and Morris FTW!

  • AHHH, if only kids my age would try to understand music like this and actually consider the fact that the song actually has a meaning behind it! With all the crap that's played these days, more and more children are becoming dense-minded. "You can drown when you're shallow"

  • Agreed! Since I was 13 I've been saying the same thing (am 16 now XD)

  • so how old are you?

  • Perfectly dark british sense of humour and steve with the tits shirt. lol the time has gone, and toom uch of it taken by the nineties...

  • This is one of my favorite early Siouxsie songs!

  • How I remember playing my 45 of this- all those years ago. Where the hell has the time gone?

  • It is all still in our hearts and minds, that's all that matters.

  • OMG Siouxsie is a fucking GOD

seriously, she is like the coolest person.

  • (?) "Goddess!!"

  • hmm, Idunno, it seemed more fitting to call her a god. I hope that doesn't seem sexist. Whatev. Either way, she is divine.

  • (L)(L)(L)(L)(L)(L)

  • This takes me back to when I was eleven and my sister had me watch it. I love this song. THANK GOD for my sister. I'm eighteen and still loving them.

  • i love the clothes siouxsie is wearing, great song

  • I was at the last ever gig they played-Sept 1979 Belfast supported by the cure!

  • I saw them on that tour. That's when she got Robert Smith from The Cure to help out, when they split mid-tour.

  • amazing song !

  • Clive Richardson was not the director of this promo

  • First and only time I've seen Siouxsie with so many kids..then and today. Funny.

  • Oh my God : Perfect ! ! !

  • The years just fall away! Brilliant topsy turvy Siouxise lyrics with a rabid beat to match - and elegantly visual as always.

Siouxise and the Banshees will always live here.

  • ¨you´re drunk... you´re drunk... yet you´re balancing the scales...¨

Brings me memories of me and my ex fighting back then

  • Best Siouxsie song by far. Grow the fuck up the rest of you and appreciate some decent music instead of the crap that's out today!

  • Amen Sir.

  • you say it!

  • Sioux / Severin / McKay / Morris

God, you just can't beat this line-up. The best concert in (1979) I've ever been to. Sadly this excellent line-up split very son after this. Superb memories, though. Love and peace to you.

  • 5 stars

  • Awesome song

she's being attacked by little children!! :D :D

  • Lol that's the magical part of the song.

  • Yeah...hehe

  • Haha I wonder how they handled the kids.

  • this is the more Psychedelic side of the banshees at there finest

  • Aaaaarrgghh! Siouxsie. she enriched my life. x

  • Same here...we'd be souless zoids without her, prolly.I shudder to think about it.

  • * Without Siouxsie *And* The Banshees.I mean, that has to be the most perfect union of Psyches.

  • Insane,menacing, ferocious,cathartic!!!!!!!

  • damn..u picked great words! with your words i would to this early banshee song: evil, dark, gloomy, chaotic

  • GTFO, you retard.

  • I agree elsoda.

  • I love it! What lucky kids those were! I wish I could've been in that video!

  • i was! im the little boy in the green top! i have really happy memories of doing this video, i was at stage school and i remember siouxie buying me a coke .funny thing is that a few years ago i saw her in the street but wasnt able to talk to her . could have told her i was in one of her vids when i was a kid!
