  • Great job, Brant this layout is very inspirational.Modelers can,in any scale, could use this video to get started on even a small layout.Perfect detailing too!LOVE THE LIGHTING!

  • I would have thought it was an OO guage incredible detail for N

  • Shame about the lame camera work but really fantastic layout

  • what type of couplings do you use?

  • This is amazing. I find this very inspiring as I'm planning a layout which like yours should be able to tfavel by public transport so I'm looking for speace saving ideas. Yours is very inspirational.

  • Hi there, what material do you use to make the hills/slopes

  • Wonderful..............and the music choice too

  • What a wonderful layout and video, I am just starting an N-gauge layout and can only dream of reaching this standard. Congratulations!

  • Fantastic work! I love it! I'm currently planing a small N-gauge layout based on an ex-GWR station set in the preservation era. Real inpiring stuff mate! Congratulations!

  • amazing verry weldone mate

  • Fine video and editing work. How big is the overall layout?

  • Wonderful movie and layout. I am finally retired and wanted to get back into trains. This is an inspiration I will definitely work with "N" gauge. Thank you

  • Wow...amazing, poetic video and a wonderful looking layout. I admit I've only recently become interested in model railroads, and it's videos like this one that help to answer that skeptical beginner's question, "so...what do I *do* with these little trains?"

Great choice of music, btw...Claire de Lune never fails to make whatever it's paired with beautiful.:-) thanks!!

  • really beautiful, relaxing music as well. very well done.

  • sensational layout!! Most detailed n layout I have seen for some time!!

  • great ! (just replace the first train by a steam train and it's perfect...)

  • great ! (just replace the train by a steam train and it's perfect...)

  • Excellent Layout.

  • it really captures the world like a story...from englind...kinda like thomas the tankengine... it is a butiful layout

  • i made a modern (BR blue/grey) 4' x 18" layout and have decided that i am now going to make a small, early GWR based, N gauge branch terminus layout, not set anywhere in particular, any suggestions for a name for it?

  • Your modelling skills are fantastic!!! both this and Littleton Curve are amazing.

Just goes to prove even in a small space a layout can still be such an enjoyment.

  • So realistic that, at a glance, it could even be mistaken for real... Great Detail!!!

  • I admire the way you have given your layout an overgrown slightly neglected look that one sees in actual photographs of GWR country branchline stations. Looks correctly as though the station has been operating for many years.

  • Beautiful, well-observed scenic modelling throughout. Thanks for sharing it. I really enjoyed how it lights so realistically at night too.

  • Utterly delightful. Is it really only 8" deep??!!

Such amazing detail and beautifully filmed too.

  • saw this at the 2009 n gauge show, i spoke to one of the owners. it was great.

  • Good job on that layout. the music is very nice. i like the old abondend house and tracks coverd in undergroth.

  • i want mine to be as well detailed as this

  • my mistake. 5 ft. by 8 in.

  • is this just a trolly line that doesnt curve? becuase in the desc. you said it was 2 ft. by 8 in.

  • A superb minimum space layout with video to match.

  • Gorgeous !

  • your railways and details are amazing, a true talent.

  • I'm not a fan of European trains, but that was pretty cool.

  • Excellent layout, I hope to make something similar, will be a perfect fit in my bedroom. Well done.

  • Good luck then =]

  • Beautiful layout, captivating video, very well done.

  • i agree i am in progress of a layout similar to this i willl put some videos of my progress so far well done

  • I saw this in the railway modeler, I really like how it gives a nice illusion of depth

  • This has class. Congratulations sir.

  • A real model railway and not a train set

    Very well done

  • Well, it doesnt get much better than that. Beautifully made video of an excellent model, I agree, you've captured that special sleepy something.Very well done.

  • an absolute delight! It's hard to find ANY fault with your work - given that it's in N scale!

Loved all your small details, too!

Tell me . . . what have you done to make your mechs run so smoothly?

  • Very well built and the layout got that special feeling that's so hard to find.

    Good job :)

  • Very atmospheric, nice work.

  • super little layout love it i keep watching it 5 star

  • i saw this in May 2007 railway modeller! i was most impressed!

  • me too

  • Fantastic filming and editing, I was gripped all the way from the start to the finish. Well done.

  • Delightful.

  • A 1950s colour film ;-) looks great music fits purfectly.

  • Absolutely fabulous, love the evening scene. I have been modelling N gauge for 15 years and would love to reach this standard. More Please!

  • Fantastic layout, great music, superbly paced piece, loved the "day in the life of..." feel, shame about some of the transitions, diamond wipes etc. Personally I would have kept with cuts and dissolves.

  • Fabulously atmospheric layout. Love it, espeially the little touches, like the swans on the water, the horses in the field, the policeman on the platform...

Lovely, lovely layout. Thank you for sharing it with us.
