Its not the breed of dog but the way that you treat the dog. Pit bulls are beautiful dogs and yes they can hurt people as we have all just heard. But not all pit bulls are like that. I have yet to see an aggresive pit bull come in even though we get around 3 a day. I've seen scared pit bulls, great pit bulls, pit bulls who love people but have problems with other dogs. I don't think that every pitbull should be put down but there should be extra precautions when dealing with them and other "dangerous" breeds of dogs. I have seen pitbulls with 3 week old babies who just sit there and lick their feet. Where i live in Chamita, New Mexico, I have 45 horses almost all are rescued, and i carry a rifle or a handgun with me all the time my neighbor who i dnt like, has 8 wolf dogs and 9 pitbulls i've shot and killed 6 of those dogs i do not like pit bulls . Its not the breed of dog but the way that you treat the dog. Pit bulls are beautiful dogs and yes they can hurt people as we have all just heard. But not all pit bulls are like that. Rotts just like pits have been given bad names. I have 3 kids and I would have either one of these dogs. If they are brought up around kids and have a good life and are treated well then there should be nothing to worry about.

A child could come pull her ears and she wouldn't care. Any dog can attack and kill, pitbulls aren't the only one and the media never has anything good to say about them. In 2005, the City/ County of Denver, CO passed a law completely banning ALL PB's from the city/ county. The law was applied retroactivly, so even PB's in the area before the law took effect were banned. Animal control officers have the authority to sieze any dog resembling a PB with or without cause. (They can even enter a residents back yard to do so!). Said dogs are subject to immediate euthainasia.

Erm, breeding pits isn't smart first off. When you breed them, then sell them, then they end up in pounds. They are the most common dog fund in pounds and put to sleep. Also, ITS THE DOGS PUPPIES! I agree, those people were stupid. I've been working at a shelter for 8 months and pit bulls have a 20% adoption rate. I have yet to see an aggresive pit bull come in even though we get around 3 a day. I've seen scared pit bulls, great pit bulls, pit bulls who love people but have problems with other dogs. It's just sad, whenever I hear someone say they are breeding their pit bulls I get a little frustrated.

I think this video is very sad and it just goes to show that you have to be so careful. I don't think that every pitbull should be put down but there should be extra precautions when dealing with them and other "dangerous" breeds of dogs. I don't think they should be allowed on the front yard even on a chain because they have been known to get out. They also should be kept away from children, unless they are known to be gentle.

Thats sad :'(. The sadder thing is that not all pitbulls are mean and violent. Its just that all of the bad publicity gets around better for them than the good. I have seen pitbulls with 3 week old babies who just sit there and lick their feet. They usually are very sweet dogs but sometimes they get treated poorly or raised cruelly ( which i think is the case in this video ) and become the excact opposite.

I've been around pits my whole life. I've never been attacked. I worked at a pet store where people brought in their pets and working there alone I became more afraid of Shih Tzus and Chihuahuas than Pit Bulls. My brother in law was mauled when he was little and had to get reconstructive surgery. Was it a pit? Nope. Chow chow.

you can argue all you want about who's fault this. Bottom line is people can't control who owns these dogs so we are at risk. I've always loved dogs but I was bit the other day by one of these dogs who was always friendly. Owner was great guy and thankfully he was right there. His solution was to get a wireless fence. Thats really going to help whatever. After researching these dogs and seeing the destruction they are capable of I say shoot everyone of them.

A sweet little dog, but they are animals. It's important to be kind and train the dog from puppies. All dogs are capable, german shepherds, doberman's, rotweilers, bulldogs, boxers - and others have been known to bite. Look at the owner's....they need to take proper care of the pet..

Where i live in Chamita, New Mexico, I have 45 horses almost all are rescued, and i carry a rifle or a handgun with me all the time my neighbor who i dnt like, has 8 wolf dogs and 9 pitbulls i've shot and killed 6 of those dogs i do not like pit bulls . IRESPONSIBLE OWNER!!, I have 2 pitbulls myself and it makes me angry when this types of events happen. Just like there is good pitbulls there are also bad ones,. That dog had a history of biting people, HELLO!! that was a wake up call,.. I love the breed and i own pits my self but I would get rid of any of my dogs if they'd show me the slightest sign of human agression.. I have a little girl and I wouldn't hesitate to choose her over any of my dogs.

The real issue is that the male pit bull becomes protective of both puppies and the females once the female gives birth. The dog cannot identify the child from an adult, so no matter what, they feel threatened.
