  • @p0lym0rph3 cheers buddy.

  • Goddamn I fuckin' loved that club...

  • i like the fact theres no fancy mixing, no gimmics, none of all this phasing and looping stuff that seems to be all the norm nowadays..........its just pure Hardcore! just the way it should be.

  • @spencewr3 couldn't agree more mate, its about mixing the tunes in a dynamic way to create atmosphere/vibe , not perfect mixing. Just love the hardcore ride up and down and all around -Hardcore is the future!

  • i am a 29 year old cov kid born and bred and always used to go to revive on a weekend to but the live eclipse tapes cz i was too young to get in the clubs.lol gutted that i missed out on that era and only by a couple of years too.still have a good few tapes lying around so i might post up a few tracks if anyone cares to have a listen.

  • If anybody knows of any reunion nights for anything played between 88 and 93 you gotta post it on here. Id give my wifes left arm to rekindle my youth just the once more.

  • those were the days ,will never ever be repeated dont be down ,your lucky you were part of it as very few people were, ravers of 90-93 what a fucking time!imagine getting a guys bird to massage you while tour shaking his hand happy days

  • lol. I remember Stu Allen well between 91and 93 every Saturday on Key103. These kinda tunes were played on the 'hardcore house' hour.

  • I remember Sunday nights around 9pm hearing his show on the radio in the Ford Orion...You just wouldn't be able to play that sort of music today at that time of night....

  • Come on guys!!! 1:57 onwards what is that choon??????

  • I think the track Cyclone 'Lord of the Land' drops at 34 seconds from what I can remember....I may be wrong tho. Peace.

  • Hmmmm cant seem to find record title??? Interesting!! All other tunes have been ID'd except the monster that starts on 1.57! All im saying is that is a serious tune that needs me to buy it and play it on a sound system the size of a building!! hahaha

  • If you chuck Cyclone 'Lord of the Land' into Google it will come up. However I think what I'm talking about came out much later - the album Fatboy Slim did which it featured on came out when he did that party at Brighton Beach & there was all the panic in the newspapers about over-crowding. You'll be able to get the tracklist for Eclipse from British websites like backto92 I think....

  • sat here wiv a mortgage, dull job , pension, worried about the c crunch , reliving a good part of me life, old mini, filas, art schooll, drugs and life, banging, all i can say is .........put yer hands in the air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. longing for the past again, leicester.

  • Hay Leicester..I am with you there mate a couple of white/yellow calli's, New Yorkers, and ofcorse the king Dove and a bag of pink ,down at Starlite or Night in the town(didn't last long mjp resident) but my favourate Nemsis '90 mc Marbles and all that. Then the next day go and see

Yorkie(Mastersafe) and the boys at 5HQ telling yourself that what ever you do your not going to start singing the track in the middle of the shop, but you do anyway but it didn't matter"cus we live as 1 familyEEE"

  • I live in leiceter, used to go to eclipse cov nearly every weekend around 90 to 91. I have become very political since those days, know about fractional reserve banking and the theft they perform. We should all join up and start a party, put a smile on everyones faces. I went to liquid leicester recently, they play trance, but it is shite, no one dances and just drunks standing around trying to pull.

  • that is such a shit club, i went there once and hated every minute of it, bring back the dilectric and eclipse

  • me too... but dont forget are very own total kaos and big bad head nights m8. miss em.

  • its crap living in ireland the raves ar so much better in england was at creamfields 08 in liverpool banging it eas yup yup

  • F&^%ing dark in Eclipse, I remember first going in and nearly falling over. Couldn't see a thing until the lasers kicked in. Loads of nicked motors turned up in the car park opposite, with people just dropping them off on their way to club.

  • SLIPMATT,TOP BUZZ - Old Skool Hardcore Set

    STU ALLAN,BRISK,DAZ WILLOTT,TANGO & RATTY,JAMO,NICKY BLACKMARKET,TOP BUZZ - OldSkool Jungle Set,PHANTASY,PILGRIM,MENTAL MAYHEM,BAREFOOT RAVER & DAVIE'DEE - The Power Hour,JAMES G vs. OPTIMUS,D-TEK,MARK EG,THE DJ PRODUCER,LOFTGROOVER,DJ HELLFIRE,JAY PRESCOTT,DJ FURNESS,BOZEYE

  • definatley agree .. swan-e used to play such a mad mix of tunes at world dance - cant really sub catergorize every tune or else youd be like - happy hardcore, hardcore breaks, rave breaks, jungle techno, piano anthems, etc etc etc the real DJ's will rinse a bit of everything - and MC MC know how it rolls not to forget many other names DR S Gachet with MC GQ .............. Remaniss!!!!

  • really gets hypnotising around the 3 min mark!

Top Buzz and Altern-8 are playing in bristol this friday night alongside Dom 7 Roland!!! @ the blue mountain.... nuff said

  • who cares about the specifics regarding its classification, its awesome!

  • its jungle 1992 (ardcore), not happy 1993(ardcore). happy had a gay beat with singing on it, i bet you could feel it......lol

  • At the raves I went to this was referred to as hardcore, Top Buzz popularised the term jungle techno and as the darker breakbeat style splintered off from hardcore (notice the 4/4 beats in this set) one became jungle (and then d&b) and the other turned into 'happy' hardcore.

  • Yep spot on mate.. Cudn't have put it better myself

  • nice1 chap u no da score all the others talkin shit this was ardcore end of jungle split from this sound n left hardcore on a happy tip.

  • Top Buzz were definitely the first I heard to introduce 'jungle', as in jungle-techno. As hardcore [techno] beats sped up the 4/4, the breakbeats was one way to keep it danceable (the only way!). To my mind, Top Buzz were the outstanding old skool rave act, uniquely 'hardcore' but at the same time pointing the way to what came next. Maybe the last act that could straddle the growing division in styles. When I grew there was only house and techno, the name games were just variations.

  • dont forget mc patrick .. legend in his own

  • Well said. Eclipse 91 crew.

  • yeah, this first tune is ace.

  • Yeah I get you mate! I thought Breakbeat got split into two, to create what we call Jungle and Happy Hardcore now. Learn something new everday ah, safe.

  • You lot will make noise but I'm gonna say it anyway.

This AIN'T Jungle blad???? It's Happy Hardcore like.

Feeling the old skool choons though. Blapp!!!

  • me to Fiona back in 91 i started recording his show and got him to shoutout a couple of times to:)

  • whats the name of the veryu first tune?
