What a shame that "Microsoft flight" .. you're extremely worried about "graphics" of last generation .... but is not asked whether the aircraft come with FMC or GPS with that ridiculous ... and missions and all that a game can bring .... but nothing that a simulator needs
Stupid idea, stupid game. This is not a simlulator, is a joke and a insult for all the people that have waiting for years a better game. Fuck you Microsoft. At least we still have FSX and FS9.
Whoever the marketing putz in charge of ruining the Flight simulator series will pay dearly as this will flop. Probably thought to make another "halo" like hit. Probably never played any previous FS more than an hour. At the last minute, tried to put a "car" like look on the default plane trying to make a desperate case of console jammers wanting to pretend flying a flying Benz; right, big fail.
Why is everyone hating on MS Flight? It's the best FS so far with its Graphics, Performance, Gameplay, and Interface. I know the downer is buying planes but you can use Windows Live Points to get them, and still on lower graphics cards, it runs very good with good graphics. I have somewhat of a good average gaming computer, ram, processers etc. pretty good. I have everything but sharpness on high, sharpness on medium. It runs about 35-40 FPS in daytime and about 30 in night. Stop hating guys -_-

@airste172 For someone truly interested in aviation, this is the best. The Physics, Graphics and overall quality of this game is amazing. You got to look at it in that perspective and not so much the money side. Yeah it only comes with two planes and like 20 airports on the main island of Hawaii, but the gameplay is all that counts. You never know, this may just be a test for a real FSXI or something, they just want to see the feedback on the gameplay.
@GOM3RPLY3R A test it may be (of what they can get away with), but as far as serious simulation, I think it's over for Microsoft. They sold their SIMULATION program to Lockheed Martin and if you think that Microsoft is about to develop a new sim program from the ground up, I suspect you've been flying around that Hawaiian la-la land for a little too long. ;)
@airste172 Also, since it wouldn't fit below along with the testing, they could take those amazing Graphics and Physics and Import it into a new real Flight Simulator, possibly called FSXI that has somewhat of the same interface as FSX, because that is the main interface for a good Simulator.
@GOM3RPLY3R I am interested in navigation, IFR, flight planning, making simulated flights before doing the real thing, etc., etc. I have no need or desire to play some stupid fantasy over a rock in the Pacific Ocean that I've never seen and have ZERO interest in.

They want to prevent those comments from showing up so they can get a good record of positive feedback about the game so they can improve things for the future. I have been a fan of ms flight for a while now, standing by it till the end. But this is too much of an arcade game for me. I am disappointed, I do really still believe that microsoft could've pulled off an epic simulator... If they made a simulator. :P

EZDOK camera for turbulence. no need show your specs for fast pc its ok to use core 2 quad / nvidia 9800gt 1gb / 4gb ram / to get that kind of graphics. OK good ok.

@spencedanny1 If you want to see the difference, run FSX with all your add-ons disabled (REX, ENB, GEX, etc.) and go to a place where there's only default scenery.
Ok so if i buy the free version? How am i going to keep buying the other sceneries? Why did they just not put the whole world on 2 disks the installation disk and play disk like FSX? Why pay more money when you can just buy the whole game for like £40? Why seperate the other sceneries they must release it on a full disk with open world. Believe me, this is a very realistic flight sim, i've got the beta version on my pc. Incredible details. There is only one thing that sucks... The only 2 free planes are a Boeing Stearman and a Icon A5. and the only free scenery is Hawai. (Btw: its PC, not Xbox)

Pilots probably complain about the "Flight Sim" generation who think they know how to fly a plane. Now they'll leave us alone and bash the "Flight" generation. Who flies with a mouse.. flying into things.
@alienw99 Yes you can judge it. Of course graphics is better as FSX is fucking 6 years old already, but still they look like shit when compared to FSX with proper addons. FSX would have been just as FPS friendly if people in MS bothered to fix few massive bugs in FSX.
Also remember that you can get only Hawaii for free, then you will have to pay for rest of the few places that will be modeled. Flight will never have whole world modeled, not even near.
What a big shit i'm so sad, they don't know what have done, they are going to lose all the fans othey had before with versions like fsx. Now has been released a new simulator that looks very good and i recomend to take a look on it, it's name is aerofly fs.
I am part of the beta program and I shouldn't be saying this but:
Good graphics, missions are OK, get quite a bit boring after a bit of flying though.
I HATE the stupid little hud at the top. I haven't once focused on my instruments because all of your info is there, you could fly it perfectly on 3rd person if you wanted.
I tried the beta, and it's still a simulator. Microsoft knows that even if you're hating on this game right now, you'll still get it. It's free anyway so why not? Then you'll see how much of a simulator it is. They're just showing the casual side of the game right now to attract a broader, more casual audience.
Right now I'm playing the beta and it is superb. Physics. Graphics. It's there. For now, you're mostly just flying single engine planes. But the potential is there for commercial jets.
Wow... we have been waiting since years for a revolution in flight simulators, and this the result? well, let's switch to xplane or the new Aerofly FS...
After just trying the beta I can say it is a ...... FUCKING GAME! There is not one once of realism left, not even flight plans. They made no effort on the animations, the scenery isn't that much better, except for the trees. The clouds look fake, REX HD is still the best right now! The plane itself is a toy and doesn't feel real. The autogen system looks exactly the same as before, basically it's a MAJOR FAIL!
There is one huge improvement however it runs much smoother and faster.
You guys, this is easy flight mode, they do have a simulator setting. Read about flight! God damn, I think it's a smart move. Have both types of games in one

@euplot I think its disappointing for a couple of reasons:
1.the simulator idea has been thrown out
2.there is only 2 aircraft
3.its free but its a RIP OFF by the time you have bought all the dlc you will have easily lost $100
4.the developers had 6 years to make a good flight sim, one with amazing flight models,realism and graphics.
IMO I would have prefered it if microsoft made a slighty different version of fsx with more aircraft, missions and better graphics.

MS FLIGHT IS NOT GOOD!!!! use FSX Bloom effects/ ORBX & ORBX FTX AU blue, gold, red ,green/ concrete & airport add-on/ OCEANIS / REX ULTIMATEV2 4G /hypercam record video/ AIRPORT ENHANCER 5. livingworld & ground objects add-on 6. EZDOK camera for turbulence. no need show your specs for fast pc its ok to use core 2 quad / nvidia 9800gt 1gb / 4gb ram / to get that kind of graphics. OK good ok.

Ok so if i buy the free version? How am i going to keep buying the other sceneries? Why did they just not put the whole world on 2 disks the installation disk and play disk like FSX? Why pay more money when you can just buy the whole game for like £40? Why seperate the other sceneries they must release it on a full disk with open world. They cant just let you play hawaii for free and buy the rest of the world its pointless.

Believe me, this is a very realistic flight sim, i've got the beta version on my pc. Incredible details. There is only one thing that sucks... The only 2 free planes are a Boeing Stearman and a Icon A5. and the only free scenery is Hawai. (Btw: its PC, not Xbox)

@alienw99 Yes you can judge it. Of course graphics is better as FSX is fucking 6 years old already, but still they look like shit when compared to FSX with proper addons. FSX would have been just as FPS friendly if people in MS bothered to fix few massive bugs in FSX.
Also remember that you can get only Hawaii for free, then you will have to pay for rest of the few places that will be modeled. Flight will never have whole world modeled, not even near.

Good graphics, missions are OK, get quite a bit boring after a bit of flying though.
I HATE the stupid little hud at the top. I haven't once focused on my instruments because all of your info is there, you could fly it perfectly on 3rd person if you wanted.
Coming FSX this is a game not a sim...

I tried the beta, and it's still a simulator. Microsoft knows that even if you're hating on this game right now, you'll still get it. It's free anyway so why not? Then you'll see how much of a simulator it is. They're just showing the casual side of the game right now to attract a broader, more casual audience.
Right now I'm playing the beta and it is superb. Physics. Graphics. It's there. For now, you're mostly just flying single engine planes. But the potential is there for commercial jets.

After just trying the beta I can say it is a ...... FUCKING GAME! There is not one once of realism left, not even flight plans. They made no effort on the animations, the scenery isn't that much better, except for the trees. The clouds look fake, REX HD is still the best right now! The plane itself is a toy and doesn't feel real. The autogen system looks exactly the same as before, basically it's a MAJOR FAIL!
There is one huge improvement however it runs much smoother and faster.
