  • @akiceman25 It is the Katmai Preserve, which borders Katmai National Park. Sport hunting and trapping are permitted in Katmai National Preserve, but not in Katmai National Park. The bears are taught by bear viewers in the summer to trust humans. Making it easy for hunters in fall. And these same hunting grounds aren't that far from the bear viewing areas. It's wrong.

  • this video lies... hunting is NOT allowed in katmai

  • it must hurt on the bear

  • I don't mind hunting if they're going to eat the meat or at least use the whole body part(s) matter of fact I would like to go hunting once too. But killing an animal just for its trophies is outrageous. I like to go fishing in the mountain, and if one of them bears came near me and endangered me, no questions asked I'll put em down but going after it and killing it, so that you can have a nice rug and a trophy in your den is madness man. You killed it you eat it.

  • @JHP717 I dont mind people that make comments on here as long as they are the same as my own. LOL. Atleast that bear had a chance to live in the wild and experience freedom. If only the steak you had last night, or the chicken you had last week could experience the life of a bear and the freedom he lived, perhaps the world would be a better place.

The Bear was priveledged going out that way. Much more so than your last dinner anyway.

  • @democratichypocrit I'm saying it's wasteful to not eat the meat they harvest. If they themselves do not want to eat it give them to someone else. Like I stated, I am not against hunting. I believe the LORD gave us animals for a reason, and I believe we have the right to harvest them. In fact I would like to go on a trip once. (After I get a decent rifle that'll take down big game like grizzlies). It just feels wrong to me that someone would kill an animal and let it rot there. Why?

  • @JHP717 Thats your opinion. What do you want to hear? Apparently you want people to comply with your feelings. I personally dont care what you feel or how you feel about me, the things I like to do or the things I may do in the future. Your opinion is just that, an opinion. You are entitled to that opinion and you are entitled to voice it, but I dont have to like it, answer it, or even give you an answer if you want me to.

So how do you feel about that? LOL.

  • @democratichypocrit What are you talking about? I was agreeing with you. I was agreeing that wild game IS fair game and "The Bear was privileged going out that way. Much more so than your last DINNER..." Since you're referring to it as food, you agree that wasting food is wrong right? I don't think I have to take a vote for that. This video is about people who kill animals and discard the meat right? Dude grow up. I don't care what you believe in, but wasting food is universally wrong.

  • @JHP717 I never said anything about wasting food, you did. I dont care what you think or what the world thinks. LOL Just as you said, you dont care what I believe in. So we agree, big deal

  • @democratichypocrit At last we agree on something. Very good sir.

  • We must partition America very soon because the alternative is the definite settlement of this conservative vs. liberal score. Tofu eaters subvert our culture and provoke civil war. I've Canadian citizenship and have a home in Alberta. I can hunt polar bear, walrus, muskox, bearded seal, wood buffalo, wolverine etc. and keep my trophies. Canada has a higher proportion of gun ownership and hunters in its population then the USA. By the way, black bear meat is very aromatic. It's delicious stewed.

  • They are on foot and not shooting from a road or vehicle= fair chase. However, I personally won't hunt bear specifically, because I won't hunt for what I won't eat. Ethically, as a hunter, I do not agree with other hunters who hunt for trophies, unless they are donating the meet to the needy. However, I do respect their right to hunt these bears, whether I do or not, or agree with their ethics or not. Many things look improper when only seen from one perspective.

  • If you care about the bears you won't hang around them and acclimate them to humans. Go to a park and take pictures where you belong.

  • Bears in CERTAIN AREAS of Alaska do become comfortable with humans. Some hunters don't care about fair chase. Just look to those guys that shot the local wolf (Romeo) in Juneau in a parking lot as he waited for humans to bring in his k-9 playmates. These people also shoot moose out of pickups on the back roads and goats off of cliffs from motorboats. I'm a (meat)bow hunter of >35 years but I would never shoot a bear in a bear viewing area. Don't condemn all hunters from the acts of a few.

  • Why?

  • They could of at least donated the meat to one of the charities which will of fed people who can't afford food or are homless.

  • I may be wrong, but in many cases those people who choose to hunt or rather are lucky enough to have won the lottery too hunt in these areas ALSO pay a large fee or royalty...those monies the GO BACK in to presevation and habitat of that area... If people are soo dead against the hunting or wildlife management methods used in situations such as the one in this video...GIVE ALL YOUR MONEY to the people who really need it...and those who struggle to mantain this great widerness..

    Cheers

  • all you anit hunter mother fucker should sit down take a history lesson and read the constitution.

  • GO TO HELL YOU FUCKING GRASS EATING, LIBERAL WORSHIPING TREE HUGGERS. HUNTING IS ALL OLD AS THE DAWN OF MAN KIND, & IS WHAT HAS ENSURED OUR SPECIES SURVIVAL TILL THIS DAY. PUT DOWN YOUR TORFU, WASH YOUR HAIR, AND GROW A SET!!!

  • @Rjd8306 You are wrong, and likely quite uneducated. This kind of hunting, with modern weapons that are only a few hundred years old, has done nothing to ensure the survival of our species over 10,000's of years. Why don't you go out and try to take down a bear without a compound bow or rifle, with weapons that a primitive human would have had. Then I might have a shred of respect for you. Too bad the bear would crush your skull in seconds.

  • @s911gt2 I had an undergraduate degree from a top 20 ranked university in the country, and am pursuing a JD from the #18 ranked law school in the nation. So yes, I am quite uneducated. I have been an avid hunter most of my life, as would my father, and his father before him. I have shot big game with rifles and bow & arrow all across the globe. Humanity evolved, and so did their sophistication in weapons. Why should I revert back to the past you plebeian ignoramus?

  • @s911gt2 How about I hunt you with the weapons that a primitive human being would have? Or better yet, put my 2 degree Brazilian jiu jitsu purple belt to use and crush you skull in seconds with my bare hands? Either or you choice. For once I'll let my quarry make the choice.

  • @Rjd8306 Oh boy, an internet threat...just as cowardly as killing a bear for fun. FYI I'm not the skinny hippie you think I am, and not anti-hunting either.Just someone who respects animals. Native Americans always hunted animals, but they also respected them, taking care not to wipe them out entirely and using every part. Look at the range of brown bears from just a few hundred years ago and compare it to today's. It's good your daddies enjoyed hunting, bc your son's sons prob won't be able to.

  • @s911gt2 Funny. You sure as hell sound like a skinny hippie vegan tree hugger to me.......

  • @Rjd8306 hunting is old like human stupidity....and just for info, there are hunting and hunting.....and yeaaa-- WHAT A GREAT HUMANITY WE ARE!! FUCK!! the fews good things that humanity have, those few great human things came from human brain, not from hunting. you are so stupid...."ensured our species survival till this day"....survival....today....city...hunting....hunting peoples: this is good

  • The text attached to this video is fraudulent and purposely misleading.

There's nothing abnormal or unusual about these bear hunts. This is about how close anyone can get to a bear. Bears are not particularly scared of humans unless they're hunted.

If you're hunting with a bow, the rule is you can shoot one yard per pound of draw weight. A human can draw a bow with about 70-80lbs maximum draw weight.

None of these bears are abnormally habituated to humans. They're 100% wild.

  • Those hunters are total cowards. That bear made a big mistake in trusting humans when she ate her salmon nearby. I know grizzlies can be territorial and dangerous from what Ive seen here, and those probably should be culled for safety sake but that last one didnt pose any danger. FU shooters.

  • @lukesteele1

You don't know what you're talking about. Bears don't trust humans any more than humans should trust bears. All bears are dangerous, given the right circumstance.

  • The people who took this footage helped kill bears. It's never a good idea to let wild animals to get used to being around people. In the wild death can happen every day.

  • For one Alaskan game laws dictate that the animal carcass be packed out not just the hide and skull. In fact the hide, skull, antlers, etc. of an animal must be removed last. Being in a park has nothing at all to do with the animals not fearing man. In Alaska the majority of animals have little to no fear of humans due to most having never come in contact with humans, not to mention bears are at the top of the food chain. Often animals will just stand and stare at you with curiosity.

  • Plus bears that dont fear people are not safe, for the bear or the people. Few seasons of hunting and they will figure it out.

  • What's wrong with human's ????

  • those bears looked like they where starving? hahahahahahaha they should have at least used the whole animal, instead of just taking the hide and skull ! waste of life in my opinion. not to metion that that was tottaly unfair hunting. those park bears didnt even see the danger. like shooting fish in a barrel

  • yes, nice excuse. Next time why don't you go raping a couple of women a year, cause its a drop in the bucket compared to the whole women population and otherwise they may lead a sad life deprived of sex.

  • ME MAN ,ME THUMP CHEST,ME EAT ME POOPOO.

  • @:41 Deee dee dee (peeing peeing) OH SHIT!!!!!!! BEAR

  • Dont look like these fuckers r starving for food. Fuck this sport.

  • Bears dont "trust" humans they just tolerate us until they are either pissed off or hungry, then we are food. Any adult species of animal that trusts humans, is certainly extinct. Trust is a very bad survival skill and bears know how to survive. Usually by looking at something and trying to see it they can eat it lol.

Wildlife Management, along with the money from hunters, has done great things the past couple decades. Let them do their job. If they say bears need to be culled, then they do.

  • @Celly222 Good points. I don't think humans should trust other humans that much either.

  • you are fools. Why don't you live in Alaska before you critisize our way of life. If you think these bears are habituated you are ignorant.

  • andy171282, not all hunters hunt for heads and sport, many do it simply for food. I am a hunter, and have never nor will I ever shoot a bear. You are no better than head hunters for wishing death to all hunter's. Your pretty brave to post comments on here like that, perhaps you should try it to the next group of trophy hunters you come by. Don't put all hunters into one basket.

  • trophy hunters are so mentally retarded

  • @andy171282 fag

  • all I have to say is all of our ancesters hunted to survive , for food and clothing and shelter . Myself being native american I use every bit of every animal I hunt , nothing goes to waste . I only hunt ethicaly and I pride myself in makeing quick clean kills on every animal I harvest , and oh yah fyi ... I say a blessing over every animal and give thanks to it for giving my family and I it's self and also ask the creator to allow it's spirit into heaven .

  • Hunters have been always loony species

  • those who complain about hunting (of any kind) are usually misinformed.and also have never tried it themselves, and make there decisions on there emotions, and not reality.cant we all just agree to dissagree on some things? God gave us humans the dominion over ALL living creatures.if you want to experience the wild a little, then hike and photograph. If you want to really experience the wild, then hunt the animal you love, and dare to get get close...REALLY CLOSE!

  • good job. Kill all the bears.

  • Hope you so-called Hunters show this to your kids, and tell them how you killed animals that were used to human contact. I hope your video taping a "hunt" while a bear rips the ass out of you , you fuckers.

  • These arguments regarding the bear population being too high is ridiculous. The state of Alaska doesn't have any record on the number of brown/grizzly bears and what exact effect they are having on the moose or caribou population. The PROBLEM is the HUNTERS want to kill the moose and Caribou for themselves, but even more they want the trophy to North America's largest predator. Hunting predators is acceptable and should be done only to the extent of the utility one gains from its body.

  • hunt them all!

  • wtf he hit it with an arrow and then they shoot it?

  • The only good trophy hunter is a dead trophy hunter. Go Grizzlies go!

  • Hey people got to eat, just like bears do. Not everyone can afford food like the asshole that posted this!

  • i agree 500%

    lol

  • @hockey14822 you eat bears?? you think they eat bears? You know that we can eat vegetables, we can choose our food, bears and animals can't. And you are an asshole.

  • Brown bear hunting in Alaska's unit 13 is now open year round due to OVERPOPULATION and the bears are killing all the caribou and moose calves. What do you think they will eat then ,fat little easy to catch animal lovers with video cameras. My hunt for brown bear is in May,see ya on the video

  • @64INDIAN64 YOu have a very good point, people fail to relize that when bears overpopulate they devastate every thing else around em. They kill off the moose and carabou and end up starving. Just look at bears in california. I went down there a few years ago and went to some of the national parks, and the black bears were so skinny they looked more like dogs then bears. They were starving. Why? because of overpopulation! Because of this they are becoming aggressive too.

  • I personally like hunting animals that are actually wild, and always use every bit of meat of everything i shoot..... But in all truth they aren't breaking any rules, so there isn't much you can do. I am a proud hunter, it's the only reason we are here today........ And the only reason carnivorous species are around today, my eyes do glimmer at a huge rack on a buck, but the meat comes first to me, not all hunters are bad. Hunters who hunt to show off give hunting a bad rep.

  • These men are lazy lowlifes.....they are the kind that don't hunt for sport or for food. They hunt to SHOW OFF what they did and that's all.

NOW, you people who go out in the wilderness to be one with the bears; it is you who must share blame as well.....the bears weren't weary of these trophy dunces because of you.

So consider that before you start your rant......this is not a perfect world and you didn't do your part to keep them wild.

  • Whenever I see a photograph of some sportsman grinning over his kill, I am always impressed by the striking moral and esthetic superiority of the dead animal to the live one. -Edward Abbey

  • It cost over $10,000.00 out of your own pocket to kill one grizzly bear. What a waste of money. It cost nothing to kill an insurgent. JOIN THE MARINES or ARMY if you want to hunt for fair game. You bear lovers should start taunting bears and beating them making them chase you, so this gets bears prepared for attacks on hunters, maybe bears population will start to grow again.

  • people hunt bears to keep the population down if the population gets too low they wont be hunted until the population gets too big again try not to be so stupid

  • only if you are an out of state person does it cost that damn much to shoot a bear

  • This ain't "hunting", it's just "killing" by those too afraid to actually hunt IMO...

  • why dont they release felons from the jails and let em loose in the wilds of alaska? this will bring hunters in by the boatload and plenty of money to the state, just bring in th ones that are in line for death penalty and the Govt will save millions on their food, care, medical and defense.

  • Ok, I am a hunter and I eat what I take from God's earth. But killing bears that TRUST humans...comon guys that isn't right!! I would have to root for the bears on this one, I hope they learn that you cant be trusted and swallow you whole!

  • These guys and all hunters must be the biggest cowards in the world. There acts to shoot a defenseless animal that has no clue of the danger makes me want to line them all up in a row and put a arrow right through there chest. LOW LIFES COWARDS WHAT MORE CAN I SAY.... They are a waste of the life.

  • @phil2564 If it was'nt for HUNTERS then you would'nt be here , but on the other hand i dont agree with hunting for fun either but still its funny you call them low life cowards over the internet and not to their faces

  • @parks2000 I wish I could stand toe toe and say it right to every last one of them.

  • what is not understood is how close animals numbers are watched every year by the fish and game. unlike 100 years ago they will not allow anything to be over hunted. every animal NEEDS something to control its numbers, it just makes for a healthier population. and every year hunting brings a huge amount of money to alaska. much more than filming. it is 80$ for license 400 tag plus guide 3000+ and all other expences per hunter. so it will never stop. if you dont like it dont watch it

  • you speak the truth in every way

but there are just to many dumb asses out there that just don't get it

    :S

  • 2:51 dangerous shot against the camera man!! Was he unwarned the camera man was up in front?

  • if i would meet those guys i prob wouldnt be able to controll myself cause that is just so wrong...

  • WE HUMANS ARE PATHETIC!!

  • no no no (those) humans are pathetic

  • Ok. BUT if they are pathetic we are too because we let it happen!

  • @aburgheim I've heard it all before and wont get caught up in some online shouting match. Regardless, liberalism is a mental disorder!

  • I big thanks to Megan Baldino and crew for exploiting a situation that was sure to become a nightmare to advance their careers. I particularly like their question, "Is fair chase dead in Alaska?" They took a unique situation in one tiny fraction of Alaska and are trying to generalize those events to all of Alaska. Does anyone really believe that bears throughout all of Alaska have become habituated to humans? If they do, they've been watching too many Walt Disney shows.

  • Awesome video! I love bear hunting

  • what an idiots...

  • Absolutely nothing worth being proud of, you might have well gone to the zoo or the store and picked up some meat...but I am sure your stories of the big bad bears that you had to track and fight to kill will be amazing...Don't you get it at all? ....If you have to hunt then a sport is something that is supposed to be a challenge! Where's the sport in shooting animals that have clearly started to co-exist with humans, with a massive rifle that has laser scopes so you don't need to get close!!

  • @Beaukita

You don't know what you're talking about.. There's nothing unusual about the hunts pictured here. In order to get to the point where the were in a position to take a shot they had to track and stalk them. None of these bears have started to co-exist with humans. They're 100% wild.

  • All I can say is that you are responsible for the deaths of those bears who are worth more to this planet than more that an army of people like you and the people who think they've accomplished some great achievement by shooting a bear who is looking right at you and could care less that you are there because they are used to good respectful people.

  • Just Horrible. Who ever made the call to accept the bribe for all the money they surely got for giving out all those licenses to kill animals who have CLEARLY adapted to co-existing with humans. (pt1)

  • I would never hunt like this, but guess what? Its legal. These guys paid big bucks to shoot ( I won't say hunt) these bears. So you people that hate to see an animal harmed, but claim to be ready to kill, maim, or otherwise injure hunters and their families, talk to the government. Then, maybe some anger management sessions, or some real life lessons. Everyone should be allowed their opinion, but some don't have their OWN opinion. Sheeple, followers of deadly PETA and others.

  • maybe you would try to understand what it's all about, if someone would kill you or somone you care about just to take the skull and place it on the wall

  • Like I said, whether you agree with it or not, its legal. Quit trying to read more into this than there is. There is no "bear family". Once the sow is bred, the boar and her will have nothing to do with each other. As has been stated here before, the boar will kill any cubs he can catch. Again, you don't have to agree with this, but until it is made illegal, there will be people that do this.

  • To Downedworker and Tendrams,

I am 43 yrs old and have been an avid hunter all my life. I can respect you passion for hunting. But... Hunters owe a responsibility to other hunters by avoiding this type of hunting. People who don't understand see stupid hunters like these and go out and join PETA. This is not sporting, fair to the animal or even respectable. Shame on them

  • bv12ringer, these aren't real hunters. These guys go out, knowing the animals are there, and that they can get close with no problem. But...these individuals are not doing anything illegal...immoral by some's standards, but nothing illegal. Rather than name calling at these people, complain to the branch of government that opened this area to shooting. I don't like the way some drive cars, but if they have a license and are not breaking any rules, what can I do? Complain??

  • Downedworker, I should not have said these hunters where stupid. They made a stupid decision to hunt Bears while people were filming them. Main problem is that not enough hunters are members of organizations such as NRA. Our hunting lands & rights are slowly dwindling and while most people don't care, videos like this cause fence sitters to jump to the other side, PETA. Golf courses are closed when the deer herds need thinning for this very reason. Hope this helps to explain my position,

  • Totally clears things up. I would think you and I are pretty much agreed here. As I said, I would never do this, and I can't honestly refer to these people as "hunters". I feel this is similar to shooting a domesticated animal that is accustomed to humans. I saw a comment here re: shooting at them with paint guns etc. While I'm sure this was meant to be a joke, there would be some merit in making them be cautious of humans.

  • I'll never understand the kind of person that preachs about animal rights, and compassion, and then wishes death or harm to his fellow man and their families. I wonder how one can be so two faced, and how they can stand whats looking back at them in the mirror every morning. I'm not referring to you, bv12ringer, as you haven't made any childish threats. But, you don;t have to look far. I may not like what one does, but I don't judge or condemn them for it.

  • compare HUMAN to ANIMALs is not just stupid, that should be a Crime Against Humanity

  • wow, it would be more challenging to go to the zoo and shoot bears than here

  • Until the poster of this video starts generating as much money for wildlife conservation as that generated by sport hunters, his/her opinion means next to nothing. Kindly look at all the places in the world that allow economically rational sport hunting. These are the places that will have the highest AND INCREASING game populations. If you REALLY want to keep any large carnivores in the world (rather than simply spout off in ignorance) it is best to allow the selective hunting of them,

  • And after watching more, I see they were only killed for skin and skulls. I hate those kinds of hunters.

    Spineless idiots.

  • This is why crazy idiots like me should run around popping bears in the ass with riot shells...just to make them scared of humans again.

I understand needing to control populations...and all that, but this is like walking into a petting zoo and opening fire.

My only hope is that some of these guys actually ate the meat. I'm all for food hunting, just not keen on the pointless "I need a new rug" killings...

  • wow this is not hunting and to the people who do not support hunting do something worthwild and go after factories an farms to raise animals just for meat the animals live in horrible conditions and are treaded bad lets face the fats her hunting is the most humain way of harvesting animals every hunter is taught to shoot the animal so it dies quick and does not suffer unlike large corporations who just care about making money ans not about the animals well being

  • Yeah Palin loved to kill animals!

  • Chinastar95 - well done, I agree with your opinions. My view is that humans who hunt animals are a bunch of low life cowards! any idiot can point a gun and pull the trigger! Get a life you sicko's.

  • way to oversimplify. There's a hell of a lot of tracking and marksmanship in real hunting, this is wrong because its not there, retard.

  • I am a bear hunter and I do find this in poor taste. There is no "sport" to it. I would feel bad if I were to harvest an animal in such a way. They might as well have gone to the zoo to take thier shot. Hunting is about "the hunt" and this isnt hunting.

  • We have been long accustomed to regard animals as things: as objects, tools, commodities, or resources. Thus we raise and slaughter them for food, we use their furs and hides for clothing and decoration; we dissect their bodies for research; we study their anatomy with detached interest. We regard other creatures as means to our own fulfillment, not as ends in themselves. Animals, like us, are living souls.

We need to stop killing beautiful animals for our own pleasures and fulfillment!

  • fuck you, you fuckin liberal!

  • Yep. I'm a liberal and proud! Nice to hear your opinion.

  • Why would you want to slaughter a wild animal?

I bet you didn't go to college, you drink beer, watch 'the game' on sundays, and drive your truck around town.

I sincerely hope you die as soon as possible. I hope you die before you're even able to read this comment.

  • The idea is to keep the bears afraid of people, plus with a healthy population it brings in revenue to the park.

  • It shouldnt matter if the bears are running or not. Bears should not be hunted. Bastards. I wish the bears could fight back. Then we would see who the real hunter is. Sad sick shame this. The hunters suck.

  • I agree...I prefer to let someone else kill my food, thereby allowing me to stick my head in the sand and pretend it's more humane

  • "co-exist" and "human trusting", what stupid terms. Anyone that knows bears knows that they're dangerous when habituated to people....obvious bias of this vid aside, they shouldn't be hunting bears that won't run like real wild bears.

  • sad as this is, the fact is that as long as the habitat is there, the bear population will be Ok. this fact has been proven in hundreds of areas with many species. There are many federal refuges where various types of hunting occur, and the goal is sustainability.

the biologists who work on the quotas are experts. If it's legal to shoot breeding females in this area it's a dead giveaway that the population is very healthy... still doesn't make it pretty though.

  • the amount of bears killed by hunters is a drop in the bucket compared to the amount that can and will die by starvation and disease if they are over pop. when we build a town or city in bear country you don't hear people crying about the amount of bears killed by being pushed away from where they belong. And if you are so passionate about the bears why didn't you confront those guys hunting. l am quite sure they wouldn't have killed you. l don't condone bear hunting but its better than starving

  • starvation and disease are natural things. It may be hard to starve to death but hunting does not make it better. Why do humans think they are so much better than wildlife that they have to prove they are best? Sickening.

  • Do you eat meat?

  • @yukoner9 They aren't over populated asshole. Typical weak excuse for condoning lazy fat guys with nothing better to do than kill animals.

  • @Jospehporta maybe you should read the rest of my post before you comment or if you did comment on the rest of it. l can't stand lazy so called anti hunters that are too chicken shit to confront a hunter face to face but are big and brave when they sit behind a computer. As for your comment on calling me an asshole l think you should meet me before you make that comment. l can garantee you don't have the balls to do it to my face asshole!

  • @yukoner9 Don't make me laugh. It wouldn't take balls to say anything to your face. You'd stand there like a fool while I dressed you down and you know what you wouldn't dare lift a finger to me.

I hunt birds and the occasional dear, you know something which takes skill. Not sitting in a hid with a bait trap 30 yards from me waiting for a lumbering bear to sit there while I pop it. That shit isn't even hunting.

  • @Jospehporta the bottom line is there are too many archair activists that are totally misinformed about hunting. And shooting a bait barrell bear is not very sporting in the least. l personally prefer spot and stalk on any animals l hunt.

The thought of you undressing me isn't really up my alley nor is fingering you. However just so l don't let you down too hard and break your tender heart l am very flattered. Have a nice night.

  • you tree huggers need to understand all the work that gose into conserving the wild life to many bear and not enuff food and they will starve to death, so open a hunting season and that wont happen. one of the most famous conservationist of all time teddy roosevelt was a hunter. ducks unlimited is a dose a lot of work to protect the and save animals. hunters dont wanna kill all the animals cuz if they did there would be no more hunting. so we protected them and all of nature

  • You're right. But this video just concerns bears that aren't bothered by people and thus it is very easy to shoot them. Fair chase is a hunting principle I stand by and this violates it. If these guys can't hunt wild wild bears they shouldn't bother.

  • there should be a place for people to hunt hunters for fun and it should also be legal if you pay for every head you bring to control human population.

  • yea!!!!!

    I want to sign up!

Where can i fill out the forms?

I have lots of friends that want to hunt them too.

  • So it is bad to kill bears,

But Good to kill People. wow!

You have no clue about managing wildlife.

  • Do you eat meat? Pork? Pigs are kept in horrible conditions, yet they're probably more intelligent than bears.

What about lobster? Is it okay to boil an animal alive?

I could never hunt a bear--but this video is narrow and even inflammatory. There are worse things done every day and bigger problems out there. Me thinks someone has too much time on their hands and too little respect for HUMAN life.

In evolution, we have an incentive to look out for our family, friends and species.

  • Excuse me, but I don't eat meat.

  • It's all the feeding, tourism, and "protecting" that has made them "unnatural" in the first place. That bear in evolutionary terms, which so many of you say you believe, should have been killed long before giving birth to cubs who she taught to be tolerant of humans. More hunting will reverse the unnatural state of those grizzly bears.

  • This is a sport? Shame on them! Use a knife and I'd be impressed, chicken-s#its!

  • killing bears wth ....poor human being.

  • bears that have learned to trust humans are more dangerous than those that dont. if bears see humans as no threat, then they see us as food. im not saying i agree with poaching or unfair hunting tactics, but you cant have people interacting with bears, without a predator/prey relationship. its just a matter of which do we want to be?

  • That brought tears to my eyes. Killing animals, for just pure fun and money, is wrong...Now, I'm a vegetarian. I'm fine with people killing animals for meat and sport, but hey, it's not right going out there to kill them for fun. It's just cruel. What really made me almost cry was that beautiful sow towards the end. She was gorgeous. And those heartless blackholes took her life.....R.I.P beautiful bears...

Those men should go to He-double hockey sticks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! D:<

  • Jerks! That's all I can say!

  • As much as I love hunting there is no fair chase i this. Takes all of the sport out of it.

  • They should be hunted and shot point blank with PAINTBALL OR AIR SOFT GUNS!!! And see how "fun" it is to hunt with no thrills! Its one thing to go and "hunt" animals but to just mosey on up to them and shoot is inhumane!! Im born and raised in AK-hunting is fine, but that is sick and lazy!!!

  • I would understand it if the guide was actually shooting a charging grizzly, but in the video, the bear was running away only to die in peace, so no charge occured, so I feel that the guide should have let the bear die by the hunter's weapon. I dont see any point of a guide shooting a run away bear for the hunter, thats just not ethical when someone pays you to guide, but then you are actually hunting b/c you get the last shot and make the kill.

  • Id much rather see aerial hunting of gang members, how about aerial hunting the mex-usa border, now THATS hunting.

  • People forget that bears becoming habituated to humans is a bad thing, and the hunting season is to put that healthy fear of humans back in them. If you don't agree thats ok, this was still a free country. If you need an example of bears becoming habituated just ask ole Tim Treadwell about it, oh wait he habituated bears and then they ate him-very near this park!

  • LOL... you took the words right out of my mouth!

  • why do these guys with little cocks have to kill bears it is horrible

  • this video is a crock of shit. just by the title it was obvious that it would be by some vegetarian peta loving hippie who would mix propaganda into the clip. sure enough there it was. and the part you said about only taking the hide and skull is complete lies. bear meat is excellent and would not be wasted. if you knew anything about game processing you could easily see that he was caping and quartering the bear. prove me wrong! show me pics of the carcass...oh wait, you cant! LIAR

  • How lame, The hunter paid $11,000 us dollars to shoot something beautiful and didnt even kill it with his arrow. The guide shot the bear right after the arrow hit, what a waste of money. So that hunter didnt really kill this animal and so he shouldnt even mount it on a wall. I'd demand a refund if I was this idiot that was getting ripped off.

  • I love to hunt, but this is ridiculous. Hunting is all about going out several times and only shooting something on occasion, because the animal is too cunning the majority of the time. These animals are not cunning at all so these guys might as well just pay a farmer to go and shoot one of his cows in a field. And as for Luckybooclan, you are a complete fucking idiot. Unless you are living on a desert island by yourself and being completely self sufficient you have no right to say anything.

  • I love hunting, but this is nothing to be proud of.

Shooting a bear that will let you get close enough to pet him...Might as well shoot a house pet.

This takes the chase out of hunting. Anybody can go up and shoot a bear from 20 yards.

  • I haven't hunted for years and I don't have any problem with hunting, but it just seems like such a shame to kill these beautiful animals. They sit and you shoot them, how is that hunting? I have no problem with hunting and nobody who eats meat should have a problem with it, but you don't kill bears for meat (although you can eat them). If there were millions of bears (like there are millions of deer) I could see it. To me it's just killing.

  • I act like some kind of expert don't I ...

  • As a non white member of the human race it is my belief that everything the whiteman touches is ruined/killed off sooner or later. This has been happening right from the beginning, since Adam & Eve. If anyone out there can name 1 good thing the white race has done for the good of mankind, please let me know. "Only after the Last Tree has been cut down, Only after the Last River has been poisoned, Only after the Last Fish has been caught, Only then will you find that Money Cannot be Eaten."

  • That looks like the same outfitter, guide that shot a female bear and cub after the his customer shot its mate, what a jerk, how hard is that, the dam bears are just standing around, as easy as shooting a paper target

  • While I am not a fan of this type of hunting, this is a ridiculous statement. If you truly think that shooting a grizzly bear is no different than a paper target then you are simply too simplistic or closed minded to be taken seriously.

Again, I don't disagree with you in principal, but don't get ridiculous either.

  • The top of every food chain.... Humans!

  • Great Job Great Hunt. Wonder who the outfitter was? If it wasnt for the license fees of hunters and work of hunting organizations over many years the big game populations of north america would be decimated at this time.

  • Excellent ! Keep up the good hunting boys. All you anti hunters, why don't you go watch Britney Spears video clips, and other mind numbing crap that you are into !

  • i hate hunters so much!

  • bloody hunters i hate them

  • some people will never cease to make me sick. where is the joy in destroying life? vomit that is all I can say to these people vomit

  • Alaska's Board of Game does not have any biologists working for them, they rely on the advice of outfitters and harvest results from hunters.

The concept that wildlife should be 'managed' is ridiculous. If it were true, and bears and other predators wiped out their prey without some jerk-off hick shooting them - they and their prey would have gone extinct long ago, before even the arrival of the Inuit people.

  • you're ridiculous. the number one cause of extinction on this planet, in this era, is humans. if these "hicks" were left to shoot as many as they pleased, they would kill them off just the same as your theory that the animals would kill their own prey to the point of extinction.

  • I just wonder how much Sarah Palin and her Safari Club International friends had to do with this sick "hunt". The Park Manager had worked for 20 years to habituate the bears so that tourists could watch them, he quit in disgust after the hunting was allowed.

  • taking the skull and hide is not hunting that poaching a hunter takes his or her kill and uses it

  • I hunt and I consider what these people did to be wrong. I have always disagreed with trophy hunting. If I'm out hunting elk and I cross 2 bulls will I take the bigger of the 2? Yeah, probably. But I'll take all of the meat too. On the other hand if I cross a big bull and a cow, I'll probably shoot the cow as they eat better.

I don't get why the one guy bow shot the bear and then seconds afterwards the other guy shot it with the rifle. Sounds like their wusses who don't want to track it :(

  • All of these "Trophy" "hunters" are the biggest cowards in the world. They dress up like heroes and go out to use a Weapon to murder something so they can "show off" to their cowardly buddies who think they're cool...

How about jumping into a fight with a MAN with only fists?

What's IRONIC is these cowards are the same type of people who call black people "n!ggers" for no reason, other than the fact that they fear Black people.

WHITE-F@CKING-TRASH. THE REASON THE SOUTH WILL NOT RISE AGAIN!

  • thats bullshit, there was gun fire off the compound bow??? bows dont make any noise, propaganda...............

  • If you keep watching, you see the hunter firing a rifle..not the one with the bow
