i only got gmax, and i dont really wanna shell out $1000 for a hobby (or is it $3). i suppose i dont need 3ds max, but it sure wud be nice. shame they're discontinuing Gmax tho.... lucky i already got mine :P

if your cheap (judging by gmax) try blender... really confusing, but they probably have freeware scripts.
