perfect song for this occasion ! great lyrics for a master to say to a student !
i love when i get to see something as incredible as this happening, even when jay and most others don't get the importance. at least to me. jimmy thackery does this song justice.
Jeff Beck is improvising here, but something's missing. If you really want to see him at his best go to the video where he's playing with Clapton "Farther On Up The Road" It's a similar groove, but hear the difference in guitar tone (humbucker pickup in a telecaster) and hear the increadible phrasing without using the whammy bar!
Pshaw! Strat rule and Becks use of the whammy transcends its usage. I will admit I personally favor his Blow By Blow/Wired era, but I respect the fact that he refused to become dinosour playing the same thing for the following 30 years. I can tell you for sure as a guitarist, the stuff he does not is more difficult to pull off.
The difference in tone is due to him minimizing his setup down to one Marshall stack. He was overkill when he was touring with B.B and therefore his tone suffers a tad. You can hear the difference in places like Ronnie Scotts and the Crossroads tour slightly.
I saw them both when they were doing this tour together. Loved it. I sat there bewildered how Jeff gets those sounds and ideas out of his guitar. Unconventional and "out of tune" for some, but it's actually musical sarcasm.
always loved these two , but never seen Jeff on stage ... on my "bucket list", for sure !... Great guys , great musicians. somebody said on Youtube that Jeff plays out of tune,..yes, and BB sings with a hoarse voice ! Thanks 4 the video
@arcenogue Si solo fuera eso amigo seria como cualquier otro guitarra. El combina vibrato y el boton de volumen y tambien con la mano presiona el puente de la guitarra para conseguir ese sonido que solo es suyo.
JB is Jeff Beck, not justin bieber!

I think the big problem here is the pace - this is played far too fast. I suspect the producer gave them a time slot and they had to hit it.
