(when i record... there is a lot of useless frequencies cause i only got a direct line in...) and F# is my seconds strings note meaning you got an entire octave more low... are you playing standard or dropped lol?

I know there is a trend to go lower and lower. But I still think that the octave below may be good for Gorguts and Meshuggah, not for Pantera. I respect this just because it's played good as always, Achokarlos. Dimebag belonged to the "bluesy" metal tradition with his bends plus his own use of the false harmonics. Here It all just melds togheter in an undistinguishable humming. Really love the song btw.

all these people complaining they dont like down tuning cos it sounds 'muddy'. i think the key to having a clear sound on low tuning is simply to use heavy guage strings, this way they dont slop around. standard 10-46 guage isnt going to be any good especially if tuning to C or lower.

Just to give my personal experience of this video, I fuckin' hated it for the first chunk of it, but as soon as you got into the first verse, I started digging it.

With this tuning, you are dancing on the threshhold of being too low. You are right on the edge. And quite a few guitar snobs have made that quite clear.

It makes it sound way too muddy. It takes away so much crunch.  I am hating this shit of like extra strings, and people thinking deeper tunings sound heavier. The heaviest tuning is standard E, it has a badass crunch, D standard is okay too. C and below sounds muddy as fuck. Not heavy

I need better pick-ups in my 7 string though, that low B is really muddy. I even have a Dime From Hell, I keep it in Drop C and it sounds amazing, especially with the Bill Lawrence pick-ups.

Extra strings just arent' for me haha. C standard can be okay in the right music, like doom, but for something with speed it can get pretty muddy. But anything lower is terribly murky and for me, undesirable.
