The song is trying to give credibility to the idea that you can buy someone's love with a house or a car. It says that if you want some hot model chick to really love you all you have to do is buy her nice stuff. And in reality there are many people out there that will "love" you as long as the money is rolling in. Ironic that Art declared bankruptcy in 2005.

Love this song. I grew up poor in Oregon and dated a woman who lived in the West Hills (mentioned in song) of Portland. Seeing both sides of dollar, I can personally testify that money does make life easier, with less hardships.
