Back in 1966 a friend of mine turned me on to the "Spoonful". I wasn't excited ... until I heard "Hums of the 'Lovin Spoonful". Their versatility was amazing! Zal had a great range of guitar styles. I am, to this day, a fan!

You should hear John and Cass Elliot sing this on her 69 televison special. It rocked!! You could tell they really dug each other.

Such a versatile (in the English sense) band. Their first three albums contain some of the best , and long lasting, songs to come out of the 60s.

But apart from 'Daydream' and 'Summer in the city' you never get to hear this great stuff on the radio.

@juleagoolia there is a clip of martin luther king on the mike douglas show in here speaking out against the vietnam war then a few years later johnny cash did ,lovin spoonful songs will do that to you
