sleep mode is very very bad for your devices. so is hibernate. used sleep mode/hibernate a little much and my network card screwed up permanently. i advise shutting your computer down when it isn't in use. it may save you time to sleep/hibernate but it will guarantee you to have an irreversibly slower computer, and possibly could ruin your pci cards.

I use sleep mode too in laptop. We almost got the same speed though, im impressed with Sleep feature of Microsoft, it takes my laptop to reload everything in 3 seconds and another 2 seconds to function totally. When you press up sleep, it closes the monitor but it took mine 10 seconds to suspend everything. also whats good in sleep is that after an hour it hibernates automatically.
