  • Hello:

I am in St. Charles, MO and would like to know if you have information as to anyone in this area who has taken your seminar and knows your techniques well...very well. I have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and would like to use massage therapy to help with the pain. Thanks for any information you can provide.

  • @sn6469 Sorry to hear that you have developed Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I never presented live seminars at St. Charles, MO, but my continuing education home programs approved by national Board and possible that some practitioners from area, choosed my CEs. I will ask my coworkers to check if somebody took it ,and will update you. Wishing you to get well fast.

  • Thanks!

  • Hi, my friend has CTS and is scheduled to have surgery soon, but as a massage therapist, I recommended against it as I would like to help them alleviate the pain. They have a severe condition though and there is bad numbing in the hand often. Does this mean there is nerve damage? If so, then the surgery wouldn't help the already set in damage, right? How does one help that?

    Thanks

  • @DnlMysticGoku "bad numbing in the hand "doesn't mean that there is severe nerve damage.if your friend already develop severe weakness, and at the time when doctor checking reflexs and founding significant decrease or non, then it's possible nerve damage.in any caseEMG study must. Most cases CTS can be successfully managed by specially designed massage therapy protocol. sooner one will start treatment bigger chance to prevent nerve damage.I wish to your friend fast recovery.Best wishes

  • How come the dude doesnt perform the massage? Why does he just talk about it and not perform it in every video???

  • @lilbl6 What were you talking about? Even in this video Boris demonstrates the massage for carpal tunnel syndrome. These are just demos anyway. You have to buy his DVD`s if you want the whole thing.

  • Unfortunately, most doctors are completely unfamiliar with TOS.

They can't recognize it, they can't diagnose it, and they have no idea how to treat it effectively.

    Surgery is a horrible option.

Horrendous complications - pain, cardio-pulmonary, etc. - after the surgery.

It's very simple to reduce TOS symptoms with an easy to follow targeted home program.

We provide this for our patients as part of our TOS treatment program.

  • HES DEAD! LOL!

  • If you are a student and write too much and/or too hard throughout the day it can also cause it. Musical instruments such as guitar or piano as well. Any repetitive motion with your hands.

  • Oh great, this vid. is back!!

    Thank You

  • thank you so much for this video

  • how do i know didi get carpal tunnel syndrome?

  • usually if you have carpal tunnel your hands will hurt alot and maybe lose some function...all i really know is how you get it.you can get it if you type alot or do something else repeatidly over time that stresses the activity in your fingers and hands.

  • ...and stresses the muscles in arms, scalenes and scapular area. These areas are factors for carpal tunnel misdiagnoses. We fixed many patients with massage who had unsuccesful carpal tunnel surgery.

  • The man on the table looks exactly like Andrew Zimmern.

  • It is him. He's filming his new show, "Bizarre Massage".

  • My partner has suffered from chronic hyperlipidemia for 16 years. A side-effect of the medication she takes is a severe headache from which there is no relief. Can you recommend any massage technique which may help?

  • Dear cassinihuygens1971.

Antilipids medications causing increase in muscular tension including neck and TMJ muscles. Secondary this phenomenon can be the couse for severe tension headaches. Massage is the most powerful methodology for muscular tone management. My self management DVD#1 can be helpful. more details on subject could be found if you will view the clip" neck , upper back pain"

     Best wishes .

    Boris

  • Thanks for replying, I will act on your advice, your videos are very instructive.

  • I had my girlfriend walk on my arm (full body weight 112 lbs.) for about 5 minutes, from my wrist to near the elbow. She used a walker for balance, but a chair would have worked just as well. It helped my CTS immensely! This works the same as deep tissue massage, but gives you even more Myofascial Release than with a massage.

I do NOT recommend this if you have an especially Heavy partner.

  • Dear ThatVoiceInsideYou.

If you really suffered from carpal tunnel syndrome then you are lucky not to have permanent, irreversible damage to median nerve that located inside of small size "tunnel". listen carefully to my explanation and you will understand how dangerous would be walking on projection of carpal tunnel. during my 36 years of experience I learned that you shouldn't never make the statements like:"gives you even more Myofascial Release than with a massage."

    Best wishes.

    Boris

  • dont think das good for carpel tunnel syndrome

  • @ThatVoiceInsideYou Shoe's off? can she get on top of me too?

  • I cannot do this massage to myself. Can anybody how can I treat myself please. I'm in desperation I can loose my job I'm a programmer and I love it but this condition is depressing me.

  • Dear panzersix .

Very sorry to hear about your health problem. please review my youtube clips on self treatment DVDs. DVD #3 containe hands-on steps how to do safe self massage, ice massage, special exercises program for cases like yours. wish you get well fast . God bless.

    Boris

  • whats wrong?

  • idk

  • set an intention for yourself and quite the rest of your mind. sitting in a semi slouching position, preferably in a tall padded backed chair. place right hand on your right guad and relax your arm starting at the base of your skull down to your fingure tips. now your relaxed, take your left hand and massge muscles:sub-occipital, splenius capitus, s.c.m., scalenes, 1-2 heads of traps, levator scapula, anterior deltiod, pec major. these muscles start at the base of the skull down to shoulder.

  • I don't believe in any kind of surgery. I believe if the tissue is alive, it can be help to regenerate and recuperate itself as long as no serious trauma has occurred... or that damage is extreme, that's why I ask if the symptoms demonstrate that the damage is too great.

  • Are these symptoms manifestations of irreversible damage? I try to stretch my fingers pulling them backwards (in pairs). Also my wrist. I massage the length of the ulnar nerve on the outer lower arm. And the small of my shoulder.

But the pain always comes back regularly, along with a burning sensation, and I can't stop working with my computer.

I live in Costa Rica. Do you think I could acquire your dvd's some how?

Thank you again for all this great information, I don't like working with pain.

  • otas32. I don't think that your condition is in a category of irreversible. the matter of fact that this very little that you doing for yourself temporary causing you relief of symptoms. in cases of irreversible damages usually this not happen. what you doing is not enough to sustain results. I believe that my self treatment DVD#1 and DVD#3 proposing protocol that could be helpful for you. for content view my youtube clips on a subjects. Best wishes.

    Boris

  • Boris, thank you for all this valuable information. I suffer from several pains caused by excessive use of the computer (I work on it all day long).

I have self observed and diagnosed a lot of things related to what you describe here.

For instance I feel a bulge where you are applying pressure on the patient (subclavia vein?). Also ulnar nerve entrapment (ring a little fingers tingle or "fall asleep), along with pain. Also in the small of my shoulder. I also believe extensor digitorium.

  • I have this pain in my wrist and I thought it was CT. But the pain only is in my wrist area and all the way up to my pinky and ring finger. Sometimes I wake up and and my Pinky, ring finger all the way to my where my palm starts, are a sleep. Theres this line of pain(like a nerve or something) that sometimes goes all the where my funny bone, in the elbow. My joins in my fingers also hurt.

  • I wish I had known Carpel T. could be treated this way...I came down with a bad case of CT in the tendon running up my thumb 3 years ago. 6 months in a wrist brace, physical therapy, & 3 cortisone shots did not heal it. I'm 19 now and still cannot open my hand completley.

I'm going to try this to see if it works! thanks!

  • Dear klizzard359.

As you described your hand function I would recommend ASAP to see Dr. for EMG studies. if your nerve conductions is OK soon will be available my self treatment DVD that possibly can help you with your problem and most important will keep your wrist/fingers flexors muscles in normal tone which will prevent carpal tunnel syndrome.

    Best wishes.

  • I'm only 17 and I think I may have already started to develope Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I started getting pain a few months ago when I put my wrist touching the desk in front of the computer. I would turn them around and the pain would go away after a few minutes. Now I get some pain, burning sensation, and funny sensations from my wrist out of no where. I hope I don't get it. I'm going to start streching my wrist. Thanks for the video.

  • It can hit at any age...even in kids.

  • what kind of wrist/hand brace is best suited for overuse syndrome? im seeing a specialist in a month for carpal tunnel testing and ive been told there is a special kind of wrist brace to use in the mean time ~

    thanks in advance,

  • Dear d3008.

wrist/hand brace is not a main therapy but effort for temporary demobilization. your specialist will recommend 1 but you make sure if brace will cause pain ,discomfort, you have to release tightness and to report to specialist. if you suffering from significant pain , numbness, progressive weakness you should see specialists ASAP in order to avoid nerve damage.

    Best wishes.

  • i started working at ben and jerry's just two days ago and my wrist is killing me... its just two days! the horror with all the crazy crowds and hardcore scooping, i hope it doesn't get worse..

  • Dear AiNobuhiro,

I hope also that your problem will not get worse. No doubts if the problem will progressively get worse youll have to see the doctor for the proper diagnosis. The best is for some period of time give your hands rest. As youve described its possible that youve strained muscles and tendons of wrist.

In about a month my self-treatment DVDs for elbow and wrist disorders will be available.

  • In this DVD I will teach how to perform a step by step, easy to study self-treatment protocol that will contain detailed explanation on how to perform massage, ice and hot applications, neuromuscular re-education, post isometric relaxation and more. In addition in this DVD I will propose special exercise program. This DVD will be very affordable for any budget (less than one copayment).

  • My mom has carpel-tunnel.

  • Dear nibargerswife51482.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a serious condition that must be addresse ASAP, because of possible irreversible damage to median nerve. treatment that I demonstrate significant reduce pressure on nerve, restoring microcirculation, muscular tone est. my methodology is an alternative to hydrocortisone injections, as well many times to surgerys. having say this I highly recommend that 1st your mom will see Dr. for radiological examination and EMG studies.

  • as a professional I grew up in environment of integrativ medicines where diagnosis was established through examinations by MDs but treatment not always was like hormone therapy or surgerys. I think that patients should discuss with doctors alternatives and not to agree immediately for surgery or heavy medications. soon will be out my DVDs on self treatment of conditions like your mom'.all techniques adjusted from theprotocols thatI demonstrating on my clips. in most cases they work.BestBoris

  • Soviet Rules

  • Dear Bejita666.

As a result of cold war between US and former Soviet Union, Soviet sports, preventive and rehabilitative medicine wasvery advanced. Soviet government did understand that international sports arena is the only one where taking most of the medals will somehow support the claim that communist system is superior. therefore they invest unlimited in to the research.this researchs and 50 years of clinical experience provided us with a huge body of knowledge.Best wishes.Boris

  • really interesting comment.....at least one good thing came out of the cold war then....advanced massage techniques :)

  • Dear lollol13.

Thank you very much for comment.more than 50 years ago medical massage was developed by Russian scientists for massage therapist. based on clinical results through 50 years of massive utilization massage proving to be powerful methodology for treatments of back and limb disorders, internal organs diseases and much more. instead to prescribe medication only doctors used to prescribe massage.my filling that soon will have this position at U.S.

  • Is there a way to tell the difference between carpal tunnel pain and just sore muscles?

I caught a softball that was going fast with my bare hand and now the lower part of my hand and the muscle in my thumb are painful. Both hands hurt in the same place and I have carpal tunnel in my right hand so i cant tell if its carpal tunnel or just bruised muscles.

  • Dear chocolatedrops55.

in cases of carpal tunnel syndrome patients experiencing pain and numbness in the palmar surfaces of thumb,1st-3rd fingers and half of the 4th finger. as you describe the mechanism of injury most likely you developed post traumatic tendinitis. however if you had a pre existing carpal tunnel syndrome, this type of injury can aggravate significant.see doctor for diagnoses. For treatment soon will be out my DVD on self treatment of wrist, shoulder and more. Best wishes.

  • I have Ulnar palsy/Cubital Tunnel Syndrome. Are there any particular techniques I can use to relieve the tingling and numbness in the little finger?

  • Dear johnson01.

tingling and numbness in the little finger not always result of ulnar nerve compression within Cubital Tunnel The best to see Dr. who will do MRI as well EMG studies. medical massage protocols could be very helpful in many cases of neuralgias include ulnar neuralgia. because of ulnar nerve originate from brachial plexus the protocol similar to this that I demonstrate on this clipOn my DVD#4 I demonstrate "golf elbow Cubital Tunnel " protocol additionally to the clip topic. Best

  • Dear mammajama7. In sitting position by using massage chair or without, possible to perform health beneficial massage on upper back and neck as well even on upper extremity. however on lower back region I would recommend to perform connective tissue massage only.erector muscles within lower back region in a sitting position when you slightly bending forward expressing like protective muscular spas- sensitive therefore in sitting avoid routine techniques onlower back Best wishes
