@punkrockike First, get out of the city!! Start looking at the "land" and look for farm land, corn fields, etc.. Put on decent close, no camo, and go knock on doors of houses beside these fields you see. ASK. That's where you start. Be polite and go on bended knee. You'll be surprised at how many people allow hunting. Of course you'll also start learning that a lot of the land is already hunted. You'll just have to find a spot. But get permission! Better yet, get a lease!!!!!

@scbane Thanks for watching that was a few years ago, it tasted very good!. I have a brother that grad. from WAZU in Pullman. Very nice land in that part of the state wide open. Some family of mine just purchased some property near Cour d Lane Lake, ID. (WT deer,elk, bear mountain lion) so far on the trail cams. MD. has only a small part you can use rifle in MD.Eastern shore. I hunt for the fun and for the table, plus to give to the hungry programs...I like those mulies! Good luck this season

is maryland a agricultural state? is maryland considered a southern or northern state? is there any size to the deer ? southern states are known for having runty deer. is there much in the way of grain grown out there ? i live in big buck country(illinois), and corn and soybean seem to produce giants(bragging).
@weitzfc yes over 13,000 farms totaling more than 2 million acres of farm land, small compared to midwest but mostly grains, soybean, oilseeds, dry beans, and dry peas. The state is on the Mason Dixon Line (cultural boundry between the north and southern states. We do have some big bucks...Western and (Southern MD. where I hunt). Never hunted down south and Illinois is known for some big deer. Post some pics or video of (your) giants. Never saw a recipe for horns I like the meat better than horn
black southerners seem to hunt more than their northern counterparts. still here up north, older black men tend to hunt or fish. i really don't care who you are, or what you are. under the skin hunters and fisherman are all the same. being outdoors (especially deer hunting ) is good for the heart and soul. throw in family ,and the younger ones to teach, and it has always brought me great joy.
@weitzfc I would say 50/50 the south is a tad bit more rural than the north with hunting area abundance in most states. Agreed we are all the same human beings regardless if we hunt or fish or from different backgrounds. I myself am very proud of who I am and what I do and I show and enjoy that through the outdoors. I am down in Cold Springs so its a shotgun/muzzle loader county. (90% hunting with 870) . But its great you get the extra week with muzzle loader. Did you hear coyotes are attacking dogs in yonkers.

Lol- no hand guns. Mossberg 12 gauge pistol grip pump is about as close as I come to a hand gun. I shoot, (TAP (Law Enforcement) Buckshot by Hornady, Magnum, 00 Buckshot) for home security. Rack that and blast on a intruder they will think twice. Have a good one.

I suggest a better pair of field glasses, the old Bausch and Lomb ones from the 50s or 60s are best. They make all the difference in the world, so you can tell if it's a doe or a button in poor light.

is maryland a agricultural state? is maryland considered a southern or northern state? is there any size to the deer ? southern states are known for having runty deer. is there much in the way of grain grown out there ? i live in big buck country(illinois), and corn and soybean seem to produce giants(bragging).

@weitzfc yes over 13,000 farms totaling more than 2 million acres of farm land, small compared to midwest but mostly grains, soybean, oilseeds, dry beans, and dry peas. The state is on the Mason Dixon Line (cultural boundry between the north and southern states. We do have some big bucks...Western and (Southern MD. where I hunt). Never hunted down south and Illinois is known for some big deer. Post some pics or video of (your) giants. Never saw a recipe for horns I like the meat better than horn

black southerners seem to hunt more than their northern counterparts. still here up north, older black men tend to hunt or fish. i really don't care who you are, or what you are. under the skin hunters and fisherman are all the same. being outdoors (especially deer hunting ) is good for the heart and soul. throw in family ,and the younger ones to teach, and it has always brought me great joy.

@weitzfc I would say 50/50 the south is a tad bit more rural than the north with hunting area abundance in most states. Agreed we are all the same human beings regardless if we hunt or fish or from different backgrounds. I myself am very proud of who I am and what I do and I show and enjoy that through the outdoors. Lol- no hand guns. Mossberg 12 gauge pistol grip pump is about as close as I come to a hand gun. I shoot, (TAP (Law Enforcement) Buckshot by Hornady, Magnum, 00 Buckshot) for home security. Rack that and blast on a intruder they will think twice. Have a good one.
