my main point was the best jungle came out around 94-95.....this is more to do with the better use of samplers/technical ability to chop up beats ... and yes at the same time it had some overground success... though I think you are too young to remember ...LOL

@2thousandNtwelve for sure, this was the best era, millwakes, exodus, awol, fantazia and helter skelter all had such intelligent samples and beats. We had the luxury of hearing on crystal clear quadrophonic sound systems and new cassettes, i miss the quality. Top Buzz, Randall, the Finn etc were all at the height of their artistc abilities , mainly because of the flow of new stuff coming out every month. There was a bit of attitude tho which seperated it from happy hardcore :(

Nah man, you misunderstand me, Im talking about the artist taking a section of an already made reggae track, and slapping it on his track.

Im not saying every element should be live. IMO the best jungle tracks are made with cleverly chopped amens, hot-pantz and apache loops. Its even better when an obscure unknown loop gets cut up to fuck.

Having said that, I also like the sound of acoustic drums in DnB, and Ive produced my own tracks with live drum-work, layered with soft-synths and a guitar
