  • Thats not a test it goes like half a foot into a cardboard box u cant make a whole conveyor out of that it wont hold it. use surgical tubing

  • team 2502 will win

  • team 1289 all day! were making one like that but more improved.

  • Has anyone here besides Team Driven 1730 figured out how to offload visual processing to your driver station computer yet?

  • @ParkRobotics What size motor are you using for this?

  • @jonasfootballchick13 I think we are going to use a fisher price motor, or a 775 not 100% sure yet.

  • Im from team 2013, and we are having troubles re-imaging our cRIO we keep getting errors about the safe mode button, and its getting annoying -_- any help would be nice!

  • @ConorWatt1 I would try going to cheifdelphi.comey have a ton of info on almost everything. Make an account it will help!

  • @ParkRobotics I have tried that but we have found nothing we might just order a new $2000 part -_-

  • @ConorWatt1 Are there any near by teams that could help you guys out? That would be my next stop for help.

  • @ParkRobotics we only have 1 more team in our area but they are a rookie team that expanded off of ours. The teather is a douch. We are not getting that safe mode error now we are just getting a file path error, so we are just going to use our other computer to do this, thanks for the help (Team 2013, out)

  • @ConorWatt1 check the DIP switches on your cRIO. DIP switch 1 (safe mode) should be pushed up (towards the modules) as far as it can go. This ensures that safe mode is disabled. I know a lot of stuff wont function if your cRIO is in safe mode

  • @ConorWatt1 I'm from team 1730 Team Driven and I'm a programmer. Are you using an 8-slot or a 4 slot cRIO? On the 8 slot there is a small toggle switch that controls safe mode. I can't help with the 4 slot though

  • @1996theawesome1 are you talking about the slots on the end of the cRIO that look like VGA slots?

  • @ConorWatt1 Yeah. The 8-slots have DIP switches that you toggle. All should face the same direction (off). To clarify, yes those are VGA slots. No they don't have the same interface and are not compatible

  • @1996theawesome1 i know that lol, how is your teams launching mechanism, ours shots 40ft

  • @ConorWatt1 Nice. My team hasn't even got anything but the chassis working so far. We are working on a grabbing practically like that.

  • @ConorWatt1 We're averaging 20ft. Since we are planning to mostly shoot front the key, it's perfect. What kind of accuracy do you get? we are about 97% accurate

  • @ConorWatt1 Also check out TeamDriven's channel if you want to see our weekly recap videos

  • @ParkRobotics thanks for sharing! Best of luck and I look forward to seeing more prototypes and a final robot from you guys!

  • If you don't mind sharing, what was the dimension of the roller to the table? This is awesome! Props for prototyping already guys!

  • @jasonlaw28 I dont remember off the top of my head. Our team is meting tomorrow and I can get the measurements there. Dont mind sharing anything, feel free to ask any other questions you have.

  • @jasonlaw28 I measured the to the bottom of the roller and it was 8" 1/4 up from the ground. Hope this helps your team out!

  • Will that count as an extrusion if the tubing spins beyond the robot frame?

  • @seg9585 I would have to think so.

  • Great job testing out already. We were talking about this exact design tonight! Glad to see it working. I'm assuming that is just surgical tubing correct? We were thinking of the polycord, not that there is much difference.

  • @MrRiedemanJACC Glad you liked the video. And yes it is surgical tubing. For a prototype it worked great. I would really recommend trying it out.

  • @ParkRobotics Just seeing a bane bot motor driving that.... or any of the others, there are a lot of choices this year!

  • -_- still arguing over how the chassis should look

  • wow, great job prototyping early... My team is still fussing about trying to get our hands on a new cRIO, we haven't built a thing. Keep up the great work!

  • I love it. My team tried something similar in 09. Just something to keep in mind, if you are positioning that near the edge of your robot, the tubing might extend past your frame perimeter. We had to take our off at the last minute because of that :'(

  • vicious XD... love it

  • yeah, you can use it to pickup balls too, but it's just a thought

  • I remember working with an FTC team in ... 2009 i think, and they used something similar. Have you thought about doubling up, and having that spin vertically instead? Think of a football launcher (tinyurl [dot] com/77hylc3) and reverse the direction of the motors. (you can make another one to shoot too)

  • @Biox1dE This is only to pick the balls from the ground. We are still coming up with ways to hit or toss the ball. Ill bring it up with the team. Thanks for the input :)
