Brazasia and Warm and sunny Sunday morning are my favorite Yutaka songs. Both feature Oscar Castro Neves on guitar. Love that Brazilian flavor! Thanks for sharing
WOW... this is a true mountain mover tune... that type of classic that gets put away & 10 yrs later you are cleaning house & bam you come across... cant yet hum the melody so you insert n2 ya cd player & bam a ton of fond memories flood your room.. this tune is so underrated IMO... recall this being played on CD 101.9 in N.Y.C. we no longer have that sta... the memories still linger....thanks 4 the awesome share/post keep em comin!
I have all of his cd's and yet wonder why he faded with the grp groups, yet unlike them, did not re-emerge? I sure wish he would do a tour! Thank you for the break!
thank you for posting this song, the last time i heard this song i think is around 12 years ago. its so sweet to hear this japanese jazz track once again
I've been looking for this for ages! Beautiful, timeless piece of music. The female vocal is by my favorite singer Pauline Wilson of SEAWIND. Thanks for the post!
Another Sun, has to be one of my favorite Cds. I wore the tape out and had to find the Cd online. I still play it today. The production and musicians he used on that project were top of the line. It still has a fresh sound. Thanks for posting this. His music is so great but hard to find.
Oh!! I remember this song!! I was only 13 at the time...I used to sing along to this! So beautiful.I haven't heard this in so many years...Thanks 4 sharing!!
Thank you so much. I always loved everything about this song, vocals, instruments, feeling. Close your eyes and forget your troubles. I am dancing on a tropical beach wind in my hair. Yes
What a lovely track it's up there with Tania Maria's Come With Me. I've been trying to obtain this song for years. Please post Ricky Peterson's Night Watch if you have.
i remeber recording this song back in 1989 here in NYC, while listening to CD. 101.9 me and my best friend (still friends) were amazed at how the instruments went together, the lyrics, everything. and i am so glad I'm listening to it here on you tube. hahahaha funny how i got on Google and I'm typing the lyrics. lol and finally it lead me to here. thank you VinylTracks for this pleasant surprise.
i haven't heard this in a while i never knew the artist i love this song it's refreshing to hear from today music for a change i didn't know he did a song with patti austin call lovelight once upon a time i guess i'm very late love that song too.
i remember hearing this almost daily on cd 101.9 in ny....i bought the cassette...it's mood setting..c'mon admit it! it makes you smile...thanks so much!
I've been listening to Yutaka since he got on the airwaves in the mid-80s. And...get this Pauline Wilson, who does the vocals on his tracks, since she was with Seawind in the 70s. I know I'm showing my age, but I'm young for my age, but I was only 20 when I got into this style of music. And, I want to play the keyboards like that! Killer. You can't deny it!
Yea, it absolutely sounds like Seawind on vocals, I thought of it before I read your comment. Great music, indeed it sounds like Seawinds jazziest stuff.
Got any other favorites you want to turn me on to? I've got a few....Acoustic Alchemy "Playing for Time" noted as the "greatest driving song of all time" and this one is weird...but great stuff Bebo y Cigala "Lagrimas Negras" check out the track "Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar / Coraçao Vagabundo" beautiful stuff.
This is an underrated beautiful piece of music...people truly don't know what music is until they have heard this...thanks for posting this practically unknown gem!!!!
On exactly august 17th, 2001 I went to a pawn shop and found not one but both of Yutaka's CD's that a local radio station had sold to them, and they were still in the wrapping!!! No lie.... I got both of them for $2.00 each!!! I mean, an out of print gold mine like this? I remember loaning my first cd's to a friend of mine but never got them back. You can best believe that won't happen again. I mean every song on the Brazasia and Another Sun album is good!! Wish he did more! Thanks for vid
@willida11 I know just how you feel. I had a friend steal my only yutaka album over 30 years ago. I just discovered him on youtube and am thrilled and am so excited i dont know how i will ever sleep tonight.
@ibeathejazz Whew!!!! I didn't realize I made that comment 2 years ago! LOL. Time flies. Well, Yutaka's music will always be timeless as long as I live. If only more people could see the beauty of jazz like this.
At last... I had this CD.. It is so beautiful..but hard to find....Please post more songs...so I can share with my friends in Facebook......I listened to it everyday.. It is food for the soul....
Thx for posting this song! I used to own this "album" on cassette, but lost it. It's apparently very difficult to find Yutaka's music online. He's a very cool guy, too. When I used to play keyboards in the L.A. music scene, my singer friend Jesse and Yutaka were doing some recording together. You've gotta listen to Yutaka's first GRP album, Love Light, too. He's definitely got a way with a song.
i have all the grp releases of this artist long live this man - where is he and why is he not recording??? grusin was a gem to sign this talented man !!!
