Interesting thing. The people who play villains, monsters, and intentionally ugly people in general are very nice people off camera, but comedians tend to clock in and out of humor. On camera, they're energetic and funny. Off camera, they're tired and not so personable.
Jeni was my favorite comedian. I was shocked by his suicide. why did he do that man. I can only think one thing. Remember a story of a clown which could make people laugh a lot but it turns out that he's one sorrowful man. I think Richard Jeni was like him. R:I:P Richard Jeni <3

The man was more than brilliant.. he's probably the best improv standup comedian i've ever seen. I remembered one day I went to his stand up and he just asked the audience to pick a topic.. bless his soul and hope he entertains the audience above the clouds.. maybe the almighty would laugh too hard and force him to come back to earth cuz he forced almighty raining earth too much....
I wasn't trying to sound that way. I just wish talented people would stop dying so young. Thanks for the encouraging words. I will try to write better, just for your lovely comments :D
He was my favorite comedian. I still miss him to this day...nobody quite like him. Try not to judge him too harsh folks....we all have our troubles and crosses to bear. In my opinion, he was the best at his craft; he made me laugh for years. R.I.P. Richard!!
May you rest in peace. To be completely honest, if he isn't in Heaven, then I'm willing to bet Satan's gonna like his material, and I doubt everyone's going to be as miserable if there's ANY comedic individual down there.
No one in particular, you'd have to see the whole thing I think. He was just talking about how being gay isn't a so much a choice and that some people "are just born gay"... etc...
I really can't believe he shot himself, I mean I just read that on wikipedia... I knew he died but how can some one that funny take his own life... it scares me alittle, I'll miss him
"His presence will reside in our souls forever"...Best ever compliment, ever!!! That expressed just how I feel about him, but could not find the words to express that sentiment until I happened upon your comment, "screammeasongimnotok"...Thank you for that, luv, thank you...:)
This really broke my heart. I remember seeing him for the first time back in the 80's on NY Eve as part of a standup special with other comedians. He talked about his family and his father. I was crying he was so funny and he became my fav. standup for all these years. So many times I went to his site to try to score tickets to see him perform but it never worked out. Thankfully he left a body of work albeit to short that we can remember him by.
I'll bet that would be the armless, legless lint-sucking stumps routine, right? "But we were thankful for what we had!" Got any idea where that could be bought?
Jeni was truly one of a kind, and my all-time favorite comedian. I'll always miss him.
Let me venture a guess. It must be a psychological drain for those at the top of their game to serve everyone like he did. So the question is: "Where does he go for *HIS* buzz? What made HIM happy, or who was going to serve him when he needed it? Being that funny, it would be hard to make a man like that laugh. (Genuinely) That would be only one component of a complex question/answer.
Oh yeah, it's okay to have a "morbid sense of humor" until it happens to one of your loved-ones...then see how it feels...and, no, humor cannot be found in EVERY situation, I wish that that were true, but no, it's not when it's personal...Love and peace to all, in commemoration of Richard...

This was such a shock for me. His comedy was never bitter or malicious at all. I feel so sad. I still
remember a bit he did about the difference between
US and British new reporting: "I'm Elizabeth-Crumpets-

"typical" British name! I'm so sorry, Dickon. Thank
