Bent at the waist. Look up Lee Saxby and barefoot running. He has a video on some exercises called posture squats which help to keep you from bending at the waist and chasing your head.
As for the shoes, elites race in shoes with the asics, brooks, adidas etc logos, but most are custom shoes and are far flatter than the trainers the so-called running shoe stores sell to the rest of us. Wearing shoes with high heels causes (among other things) that bend in he waist you are running with.
the fastest guys in the world run in traditional shoe -- and they're going fast. Until i see one of you natural runner pass them at the 20m mark, i'll stick to my asics...
The biggest problem with a midfoot strike in traditional shoes is that the raised heel limits your range of motion. This makes your calf tighten up more than it would have to if the heel was level with he forefoot. That is a minimalist shoe or going barefoot is better if you are willing to use the built in shock absorbing mechanics of your foot, rather than bypassing this ability with a heel strike.
Shut the fuck up. Why are you in running in so called special running shoes that the shops sell, they are not designed for human feet! Run in minimal shoes and stretch your body and keep the hips aligned
@PUSSY100ish Bro, you clearly missed the first sentence of my comment.... "The biggest problem with a midfoot strike in traditional shoes is that the raised heel limits your range of motion": that is why midfoot striking in asics (like in the video) doesn't work well. I AM A MINIMALIST RUNNER TOO, I run in huaraches and merrell trail gloves. Learn how to read. Your reactive behavior and false assumptions are why a lot of people think minimalist runners are ass holes... good job dumb shit ;P

He is overstriding... and the posture is not good, it looks like he's sitting while running.

it looks really forced. :( Those shoes aren't even designed for mid-foot strike. They have a big heel.
