Yes it was shorter, the timing mats were at the feedstation at the top of the climb last year. As can be seen at 1:15 (ish) in this video.

this will be my first time at trying Etape Caledonia, i'm looking forward to it with nervous shaky legs ;-)

This year was my first go at the etape. It was a top day, and a true challenge. Whizzing along in a fast peleton was a buzz, if a bit hairy at times. Not for the faint hearted.

My first time up Schiehallion. Not too bad. The descent was amazing. I managed 43.5mph! :-)
The roads on the Etape were in excellent condition. Much better that the roads in and around Glasgow that I am used to!!!
