I once taught at a state university (USA) and wish I had students that had this kind of desire to learn . They will learn more about energy than can be imagined. I was a gas turbine inspector loaned to wind energy at the age of 46 . Why ? The people they were trying to train slept in class although they were being paid a stipend of $20.00/hr and free hotel room . 60% flunked out with lowered standards .
Very good idea from the African people. But you should use a chimney on those stoves, otherwise you get indeed poisoned of carbon monoxide!! All the best to the African people!!!!
This is a great video showing nice people doing wonderful things. This is the sort of stuff that should be shown on daily television instead of doom and gloom and gossip. Thank you. Best wishes from New Zealand.... Coote.
my favorite city is Kisangani ;D And it's cool how they just for make energy ;D can the people's in Kisangani english, or is it just french? Iam gonna visit Kisangani sometime when i grow up ;D
I think the charcoal makes the woman sick because of Carbon Monoxide poisoning not because of smoke. You might want to check on proper ventilation like a chimney or vent pipe. Also good work on the saw dust stove. I thank everyone for their hard work on solving the problems we all face everyday just to live. You are a positive light to us all.
Yes, CO poisoning could well be part of it. Chimneys are good to use, but I guess they increase the cost, so maybe not everyone can afford them. There's some more info on the Ashden Awards Blog about these stoves.
