Hey Matty, don't despair. There's a woman out there for you. I understand the lack of confidence thing.. I'm an able bodied chick and I would be petrified if I ever had to go out and find another partner, but luckily I am dating a fantastic guy who I love more than anything, and he, like you, is a 'wheelie' - I love him for his beautiful personality, his humour and because he loves me too. We've been dating for 9 1/2 years now... we're also in Australia.. so I wish you all the best :o)

Its nice when i hear stories of abled bodied women falling for guys in chairs, it makes me beleive its not a totally lost cause. sounds like you've got a great guy and he has a great woman. hopefully someday i'll be that lucky

Hello Matt, Hope you are dating now because you deserve it! I liked your video. It was touching and emotional. Those are two things women find attractive. You don´t have any reason not to be confident. Confidence doesn´t come from what you have or don´t have, what you can or can´t do, it just exists if you love yourself for being you. (I know it sounds corny but it is really true.) Work on your confidence and the women will come to you. :) Take care

I unfortnately still have not got a date but i am becoming more confident in the thought that it will happen. This is a really good video, you explain this issue very clearly :)

But the way this sounds, is like...meeting girls out in everyday life, what about meeting them online? Does that bring out any more or less confidence from a impaired person?

Online seems to be a popular way to meet others in this generation, disabled or not. I myself, met my husband online :-)

Online for me does seem to be easier, i have a lot more confidence then what i would offline. Online i feel more free and my being in a wheelchair i guess isn't quite as front and centre as it is in an offline setting. Online certainly is becoming the meeting place for this generation both disabled and abled bodied. If only i had the confidence offline as i do online.

You have an attractive personality and are good looking. I'm sure lots of girls would be interested. If fear keeps you from asking girls out maybe you should try getting to know them on a more casual/friendship basis first. That might make it easier.

Becoming friends with women has seem to come quiet easily, i have a few female friends that i've met through high school or university or occasionally from the net. I have approach problems, i can't seem to just go up to a girl when i'm out and strike up a conversation, if any conversation happens it's all because they approach me
