@RodneyAHampton thanks for visiting...i watch most of your videos but dont often comment...but i do watch...Question: since you have a military background maybe youd know....i have access to about 800 alice packs , complete with all straps and frame in good to perfect condition......do you think its something that could be sold via youtube? im thinking i could make a fair profit at 25 bucks for 2...
@centervilletn $25 for 2 rucks with frames and straps? That's a good price. Yeah, why not try to sell. I don't know if it violates the terms of service but I know a lot of people try to sell stuff on here.
@RodneyAHampton they are complete..some look almost unused all are excellent..some are olive others are cammo...most are medium some are large......i dont think its a violation,,, i mean some folks are pitching penny stocks, and freeze dryed food...Primary for me is educational ...i dont want to violate trust of the viewers who have been supportive.....its worth more than money to me...
@centervilletn I think the more straightforward you make the pitch the better off you'll be. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape if some people unsubscribe or leave some nasty comments, though.
What an adorable boy, he's a natural on camera. I love the accent. Many of my cousins in OK have accents that I could sit and listen to for hours. Stories just sound so much more interesting with a little twang to it. Then the other side of my family in Montana, with that cross between Wisconsin and Canada sound, lol.
Your garden is awesome. Great harvest! Hope you have a long growing season, Ken.
So cute!! can we swap climates? I am to impatient for New England weather lol. have you stored summer squashes any other way besides a freezer? I don't like the way they keep in the freezer - comes out to mushy, was thinking of trying a pressure canner and doing some batches of soups and veggie pasta sauce, but I really like them as a side, and this year I expect enough to last a year. Still got green beans from last season, been using them as ice packs for pain at this point hah.
@vocalbrush We have frozen some whole...and we are going to pickle some....easy recipe...slice 8 cups squash( any variety or mixed varieties), thinly slice 2 onions, and 1 red /orange /green bell pepper chopped, 1/4 cup salt and let set for 2 hrs. dump off water....bring 1 quart of apple cider vinager, 3 cups sugar and pickling spice to boil (add crushed hot peppers/dried Jalapinos if you like spicy)...add vegetables and boil for 5 minutes..put in sterile jars...thats it....
@vocalbrush local grocery stores and restaurants will pay 80 cents a pound for all we dont want...so im thinking about planting more and selling enough to pay for next years garden...
@centervilletn That is a great idea! wonder if I could do that around here. My state is a pain when it comes to regulations. I understand food safety though, so it's no bother to me, just not sure if fees and inspections are involved just to sell some veggies to the local markets.
Nice video. As a young American who has been watching the unfolding convergence of geopolitical events over the last 4 years, with a sad and resigned sense of impending peril, I hope that you and your family will be able to weather any and all future structural crises.
@kileer71 that is the pupose of this garden...we are preparing for what ever may come the best we can...i hope we are all as mad as hatters but too many people have the same feeling.
Wow! very good all of them vegies and right there for the picking, sure beats firing up the car and running to the store to spend hard earned money to buy them.
I love broccoli, sometimes I put lemon juice on, or even Parmesan cheese .
Eli, you are so lucky to have a cool dad that is into providing for you, although I bet you help out alot. Great Job!!
Very nice job Eli. We take our yellow squash and zucchini cut lenghwise in quarters, a little itailian dressing, wrap in foil and put on the grill next to the bird, or burgers. Ten minutes or so and yum yum.
My boys love zucchini cut lengthwise & baked & half way through, I put salt , pepper, butter & parmesan cheese & cook just a little longer to melt the cheese.
You & your family have done such nice work in your garden!
@cheesestr4wz we will have to prepare the ones we picked to day that way..thanks for the recipe! he is a character.....the kids like picking more than they like weeding!
OMG, that is HUGE head of broccoli. I'd cut that sucker up and steam it. Your son is going to grow up to be a wonderful young man. It's good that you have him out in the garden working and learning instead of glued to the TV, vid games and the mass media. Great way to raise a child. I was raised the same way. LOL, I have a picture as a little kid with me showcasing stuff from my parent's garden with the same EXACT pose. You guys seem like neighboorhoors to have. Good Job.
@Rototill27 Wife cooked chicken fetticinni tonight...and when you cook the noodles you put your brocolli in with them the time it takes to cook the noodles is the perfect lenght of time for the brocolli..and mmm good..im proud of my sons ..they dont lay in front of the tv much nor do they play video games..playing outside, helping in the garden, building forts, fishing and swimming are their most common activities..I dont want to add to another generation of skill-less children...
@lizadfuel I was watching some primetime show at my parents where a brit was working in school cafeterias and improving school lunches..and the kids didnt know what vegetables looked like in their natural form...i knew my kids did and theyd know what the plants looked like too..and how to grow them!..thanks
Dude, he needs a costume of some sort - like a big potato or something... He could be your garden Mascot - and prolly scare away some crows or something to boot.
@theeastwatch he has a bb gun for the crows...and not a bad shot ..i discorurage shooting things you dont eat but he keeps them run off....as for the costume? maybe i should get him a hat!..thanks!
Lucky guys!... I can't believe your already picking Veggies and were still months away around here. You better be canning a lot of that 'cause if the Web bots are right there's gonna be food shortages in the USA and abroad because of the damage this oil leak will end have end up doing in by the end of it all.
Your son did a great job also..make sure you tell that i thought so..in fact he's better at speaking in front of the camera than I am..heck I suck behind the darn thing also! lol
@connectingdots1 he practiced a few times and then he was ready..he is a real camera ham...he loves cutting up and putting on a show....my other son wants to make a vid tomorrow...we might go fishing... im with you on the oil spill..horrible situation...and getting worse...maybe the predictions will not come true..i fear the worse
OMGosh -- Eli is adorable! Has he been begging to be on one of your youtube videos? My girls try to slip into my vids every chance they can. Your broccoli looks perfect and I was very envious of your cauliflower heads the other day that you showed. Cauliflower is my nemesis in the garden. If I don't get heads this year (usually get big, beautiful plants, no heads, or bolting heads), that's it. I'm done with it.
@0urGaia Eli says " someday you can make your own garden too and it will be as good as ours"...."im going to buy a new bb gun with the money we save"... (all he thinks about its hunting and fishing)
@UncoverTruth thanks for watching Eli is really excited about seeing how many views he getting in just a few minutes! ...We will be cooking those vegetables for tomorrows family gathering.
