@wayoftheforesthand, After reading your comment I have to ask "Are we watching the same Video"? First I want to saym I am a MMA practicioner who comes from a TRADITIONAL background. I dont know this guy, But as a high ranking Black Belt myself with 47 years experience I can tell you "Your CRAZY" This guy has correct Breathing, Blocks, Stances, Nice Kicks, I wonder if you, or mmahousenet have any video up on you tube to show us how Martial Arts are supposed to be done? Back it up, or Shut up!
Beautiful, and Expertly executed. @ mmahouse, You ignorant comments are barely worth responding to, But due to your obvious lack of knowledge in the subject of martial arts, I will point out the obvious, He is not in a fight. He is practicing what is commonly known as a Kata. Keep this in mind before commenting next time. "It is better to remain silent and people think your a fool, than to speak, and people know your a fool! :)
@mrmasterlee1 no he is not fighting, but his Kata lacks nearly everything. the blocking, striking, footwork, stance work, everything is complete disjointed. there is no kimi in his movements. if this is a example of his true skill mmahousenet is right, it wouldnt take much of a mma guy to beat this guy in a fight. not saying mma is the end all be all, but this is just sad looking tournament like kata. no real skill, more an excercise in arm waving sadly.
@wayoftheforesthand As I said, If your an expert show a video of yourself doing better. or shut up! I have no respect for big mouth wannabees like YOU!
@mrmasterlee1 wow i forgot i even commented on this video. You said you wanted videos showing how martial arts should be done. I have a nice little collection of playlists with how martial arts should look. I know you want me, but since I am not swiming in money for a cam, other people are just as good, because they are a good measuring stick. People like Kimura, Nakayama, taiji Kase, Chen Manching, Chen Xiaowang and others are how martial arts should look.
@mrmasterlee1 You seem to think I am measuring this guys skill based on my own. I am not nor was I ever. I am measuring this guys skill based on the best like Chen Xiaowang and Taiji Kase and others who are Masters. So compared to them he has a long way to go. now if you are going to say he is on pare with their skill we can start exchanging videos. also i suggest you CHILL OUT. I am free to comment when i want. stop sounding like Greg Park or Ishida Kim. people are free to disagree with you.
Fred Villaris system is a joke. These guys would get their asses whopped by a kid with less than a years experience in wrestling. This system doesnt hold up to muay thai or BJJ. Sad sad sad.
@jackcarine It's not fair to compare two different people in the arts. Just because your sensei might be better at this particular form, doesn't make him better at everything.
there are many problems with this form. first, in the beginning there was no horse stance... basic. next, his strikes are everywhere, and he would turn his body without his feet. the BIGGEST problems i see in this form is at 0:18 and on. whenever his body moves, his head doesn't stay with his body, it moves after. and , there is no dim mak at all in SKK. ive been doing SKK most of my life, ive moved on to hawaiin kempo (karazempo goshinjutsu), fu jow pai (black tiger claw kung fu)
@battosai1111 as well as chen style tai chi under Master Jesse Tsao, and with some wing chun as well, i can see many things wrong. Unfortunately, alot of other Kempo/Kenpo schools look down on Villari and his students, but that's because some of the things he does ARE jokes. after looking at hawaiin kempo and what it became now, im sad i didnt start in hawaiin kempo in the first place.
@battosai1111 wow. you study with Jesse? I don't think he'd approve of you talking smack to another martial artist. However, to say you're sad you didn't start with Hawaiian Kenpo in the first place is really silly. If you didn't start with SKK, then how would you know what you'd like? Everything is a learning experience...
I'm a Kung Fu and Silat practicioner and I see the snake kung fu, crane kung fu and things that remind me of silat. Good stuff seeing the new innovative arts go into the ancient roots of martial arts. I like it.
Fred Villari sold franchises with false documents in CT, NY, and NJ and scammed the buyers. The school I studied at closed because of it. Grandmaster? I'd say crook might be a better choice. You want your kids bowing to his picture?
i have this form and it is not my favorite...however, basics are basics loose or not the stances are off and he alignment is not near optimal. Have him put up another version to better represent our art
son i train under this man and first off if your a wana be 3rd degree black belt, he a real fourth degree so show respect for ur higher ups and sit down and shut up b/c so help u god if dared to even try to kick out his legs he would easily kill you 5 times over before you even threw a kick.....................and way to do work sensei
LOL he sure taught you a lot of respect for your "higher ups". What are you a green belt? Learning karate because you played mortal kombat? Let's not forget that I've JUDGED and WON several Villari and Regional karate tournaments in sparring, contact and non, grappling, katas and combinations so I know what I'm talking about. How would he "easily kill me 5 times over before I threw a kick?" What technique is that? Keep your subjective, immature comments to yourself; at least I'm objective.
I used to practice this form of martial arts, I'm a 3rd degree myself, by the age of 15 no less, and I have to say that this form is not done correctly. Not that the moves are wrong, but the execution is not done how a "sensei" ought to be doing it. Just look at the stances...makes me want to kick out the insides of his knees and push his hips down. Anyone who practices martial arts at this level ought to have the basics down properly, there are no excuses for having a weak foundation.
well bub if ur a third degree and 15 u dunno the essence of this Shaloin Form. It's not supposed to be a rock solid immovable stance, it's suppose to be lose and flow. He did this form not top notch but not bad. I know Sensai Chris personally and yeah, he can tear the house down
I'm sure he CAN do it better, he just didn't do it for this time. Stances are not supposed to be immovable, but to get more power you need a better stance. Fluidity and looseness can also only occur in the presence of strength and rigidity in a different area. If you play golf you will know what I mean (loose hands, rigid spine and waist etc.) And also, I'm 22 now, so add another 7 years of learning and training and I think I probably have a better grasp of Shaolin forms than you think.
well you bought up good points so I can't argue with you there. Looking through it again and paying more attention I agree with you. he has flow but your right in the fact it doesn't show strength in those stances...
Also, I studied under 8th degree Villari master Henry Choo Chong in Toronto from the age of 4 up to 17. I don't see how you can judge whether or not I know the essence of Shaolin (which this isn't) from my rank and age.
I also studied other forms like wing chun, jiu jitsu and akido, winning several regional black belt tournaments in kata and sparring in Villari's and grappling in Jiu Jitsu so when I say his stance and strikes are not done properly, I think I know what Im talking about tyvm "bub"
lol, wtf is wrong with this villari guy. that is total crap and not even resembling chinese martial arts even in a remote way. don't you guys bump hip or do you just keep practicing at this crap because you're angry at everyone for telling you you've been played by a fraud?
just because someone tells you its not a Shaolin form. this does not mean you have to use foul language and get defensive no one questioned his fighting ability. Someone just stated a fact deal with it . the form was done too fast anyway,. regardless of how good the instructor is. a lack of time on the mat is clearly seen by the amature responses to some of these posts.
LOL. This is not a "Shaolin" form. There is no "shaolin" in Villari's system except for the marketing of the name "shaolin". Villari learned from Nick, and nick learned from George Pesare. George learned Kajukenbo. It's very simple. Then Villari added the "shaolin" to market more effectively to the public. (which worked well) The system is a good system. Kenpo and kempo systems rock. But it is not a true shaolin system.
agreed, villari is a fraud and apparently he has some peoples heads really messed up about what is and what is not actual chinese martial arts material. watching this stuff being called shaolin is embarassing...for them.
I guess this would good if you were going to fight a six year old girl with no arms. Join a real martial arts place were you learn how to fight, not a gay dance like this.
you stupid fuck. do you even do martial arts? Sensei Chris would kick the living shit out of you with no arms or legs. And another thing you stupid fuck is that Invincible Wall is a Shaolin Form not a Sparring Form so get your facts straight and stfu. Along with this, Sensei Chris has an amazing fighting style and enormous amounts of strength. So I guess this "dancing" could kick the shit out of you and whoever else can't back up what they say
I am a SKK black belt and the man performing the Kata in the video would definitely tear up the average internet warrior goof. I would love to train with Sensei Chris, he does the system well
