I think Buster Douglass would hold his own with any heavyweight in history on this night. His skills were simply amazing this night! I think he had no fear in this fight. He was completely numb due to the death of his mother. Nothing could hurt him. Not even Iron Mike Tyson. He had this seemingly effortless flow to all of his punches and all of his footwork. A beautiful performance by a noted underachiever in this sport. He sure made up for it this night! WOW!

Its not about the trainer, its about the fighter. Every fighter will sooner or later be taken to places they've never been before and how they respond is testament to how great they are. Mike Tyson had it all his way up until the Douglas fight. He was in an extremely weak division and as soon as he came up to a hungry, game opponent he folded.

Buster Douglas had his fair share of emotional problems AND mental demons. This is a guy who gave up fights to Tony Tucker and so on... the consensus in boxing was that he had no heart, even his dad gave up on him. I wonder how amazed his dad must have been when Douglas put Tyson to bed? Because it looked like Douglas would wound up a failure. Now he will go down with one of the greatest performances of all time.
