Thank you charez, even when it seems like negativity and feelings shake my faith, or make it seem like I don't have faith, that doesn't and shouldn't stop me from picking up God's Word and understanding it. All the time my mind wanders too, so I don't focus much, that's one of the reasons I don't read God's Word, but if I just get up every morning and at least read a verse or two, and realize that it's not just talking about the people from biblical times but also the people today, including-

I, too, go through times when I feel that God has abandoned me, and usually when I seem to need Him the most. But I know feelings cannot be trusted so I look to His Holy Word for renewal and encouragement through His Holy Spirit. He never fails to encourage me. Memorize Jeremiah 29 verses 11 to 13. Read the book of St John. When getting rid of old thoughts you have to fill your mind with new ones in order to overcome the old ones. Jesus loves you Joejar5. What He did for ME He will do for YOU.

I had this same call fifteen years ago, and have never regretted. I would have been lost now with no future and hope but Christ has brought hope to me and my life has never been the same again. If you really love GOD then you gotta die to that fleshly desire and press on. but know this, just when you begin to take GOD seriously and surrender absolutley all at his feet you best believe the Enemy is going to come back harder and try his best to distact you and take you away from the presence of GOD which is where you will find true peace and true joy.
