somewhat poorly designed, should have a double rather than one switcher for that many tracks, a switchback involved. it might be better to have more than one ladder/ yard
@jfrydom There always has to be one hero to nitpick "somewhat poorly designed." Instead of being so condescedning (and being "somewhat" of a TOOL), how about being glass-if-half-full instead of glass-is-half-empty. I'd like to see pics/video of YOUR "somewhat NOT poorly designed" yard before you talk smack about the huge ammount of GREAT work this person has done thus far on theirs. Where can I ses pictures of your train set up? Thats what I thought.
@flapsdwn you could borrow my time machine go 20-30 years in the future and view super definition videos of my uber layout. As i saw no one else had nit picked I decided someone has to do it. As you decided someone has to "put this guy in his place". The yard will inevitably get clogged and be able to efficiently sort and store cars. a yard 70% the sze could have a max throughput of 20% more.
only downside to 4' wide is that you can't reach all the way across the table (if there's a derailment or whatever) unless you can be on both sides of this thing. This is a nice yard, but if you can, will you extend the yard leads straight another 3' or so, or will this be it? Space is always the valuable commodity with HO scale, that's was keeps my home layout to 10'x13'.
Yo at the beginin when the track at the bottom, you should cut a square and make that track go down and run that shit through the house or basement or what ever im DEADLY serious with you. DEADLY.CAUTIOUSLY WITH YOU! Come, serious with it i mean like dude it will be hard for the loco and it's stock coming up but you can a turn off at 0:26 the black shade left where the track will be coming out the yard make a turn out and make a light grade so the train can come up and connect to the....
farthest track at 0:14 at the top at the end of the yard (top right) and thats where it connect im seriously that will just be hot so many comment!!!! so many ratings and subs. I mean im deadly serious and im deadly serious when I mean this I was in the same position, area and the same yard you would have there I would deadly serious do that im not lying to you DEADLY SERIOUS!
@AuburnRails What in the fuck are you driveling about? You comment on this member's traing outfit mentioning you are DEADLY serious about three times in one comment. NOTHING in HO is "deadly" excepy possibly being an idiot with the 120 volt stuff. Wake up
dude thats a sweet yard! this is 2009, so your polly farther in this project right?
do you have Intermodel service incorperated with the yard at all? do you run intermodel trains? i have no room for an intermodel yard but im working on building a extra space for a future one. anyhoo, nice Yard, again its awesome! 10+
